About Grinz Orthodontics - NW Tucson

Based on 7488 N La Cholla Blvd in Tucson, AZ, Grinz Orthodontics - NW Tucson is a dental practice serving the area. Clear aligners straighten teeth through a series of custom, removable trays, each worn for one to two weeks before moving to the next in the sequence. They suit mild to moderate crowding and spacing well, and are worn roughly twenty to twenty-two hours a day for treatment to stay on schedule.

Traditional braces use brackets and wires to gradually move teeth into alignment, handling complex bite corrections and significant crowding more predictably than removable alternatives. Treatment commonly runs one to three years, with a retainer worn afterward to hold the result.

Professional teeth whitening uses a peroxide-based gel, applied under supervision at a strength stronger than anything sold over the counter, to lift years of staining from coffee, tea, red wine, and tobacco. It works on natural enamel only — existing crowns, veneers, and fillings keep whatever shade they were made in.

Orthodontic treatment straightens teeth and corrects bite problems using braces, clear aligners, or similar appliances over a period that commonly runs from about a year to several years depending on the case. It is offered to both children, where early evaluation can catch developing issues, and adults at any age.

A smile makeover combines cosmetic and sometimes restorative treatment — whitening, veneers, bonding, or orthodontics among them — planned together around the overall appearance of a smile rather than one tooth at a time.

A first appointment at a new practice typically covers a full examination, a review of your dental and medical history, and a professional cleaning, with X-rays if you do not have recent ones. It is also a reasonable time to raise any longer-term concerns, cosmetic or otherwise, so they can be factored into a plan going forward. How long do braces take to straighten teeth?
Commonly somewhere between one and three years, depending on how much movement is needed. Mild crowding resolves considerably faster than a case involving significant bite correction.
Are braces or clear aligners better?
Fixed braces handle complex movements and severe cases more predictably. Aligners are removable and far less visible, but they only work while you actually wear them, so they suit people who will keep to the routine.
Does teeth whitening damage enamel?
Professionally supervised whitening is not considered damaging to enamel. Short-lived sensitivity afterward is the usual side effect. The risks that do exist come mostly from overusing unsupervised products rather than from a properly applied treatment.

Friendly and knowledgeable staff and Dr. Z is great with my kids! They are always able to fit us in when we need something like a broken bracket or wire fixed.

Grinz is absolutely the best place to be! All the staff are so kind and friendly. There is one tech that my daughter looks forward to see every time we go in. Ms. Chelsea ( is what she calls her) she always makes her feel totally comfortable and safe! She loves that she talks to her and walks her through what’s happening. Chelsea really is the best. We are so happy to be apart of the family!

Dr Z and his staff were amazing each and every time I went into the office. Recently had my braces removed and was surprised at receiving a gift of items I wasn't able to eat while wearing the braces. Very nice touch! Dr Z was accommodating and gave me options for my treatment plan which other orthodontists would not even consider. Very happy with the treatment received.
