About Harbortown Dental Care

Harbortown Dental Care provides dental care on East Jefferson Avenue in the Rivertown - Warehouse District area of Detroit, Michigan. Emergency dental care covers sudden problems that will not wait for a routine appointment — severe pain, a knocked-out or fractured tooth, swelling, or a lost filling that leaves a tooth exposed. Same-day or urgent appointments are the point of an emergency service, rather than the standard multi-week booking window.

A professional cleaning removes the plaque and hardened tartar that brushing and flossing cannot reach, particularly along the gumline, and is the core of routine preventive care. Most people benefit from a cleaning roughly every six months, more often for those managing gum disease.

Affordable care means the practice sets out to make treatment accessible on a self-pay basis or through a payment arrangement, rather than assuming every patient arrives with comprehensive insurance. It is worth asking directly what options exist before assuming a needed treatment is out of reach.

General dentistry covers the routine and restorative care most people need most often — examinations, cleanings, fillings, and preventive checks that catch problems while they are still small and inexpensive to treat. Regular attendance, roughly every six months for most patients, is what makes that early-catch approach actually work.

Day-to-day oral health still comes down to the basics between visits — brushing twice daily with fluoride toothpaste, cleaning between the teeth, and limiting how often sugary food and drink appear through the day matters more than the total amount eaten at once. Regular professional care is what catches whatever those habits do not.

Digital X-rays are a routine part of dental care because they show what a visual exam alone cannot — decay forming between teeth, bone loss below the gumline, and how developing adult teeth are positioned in children. They use a low radiation dose and are taken on a schedule matched to individual risk rather than at every single visit. Dr. Faircloth runs a clean, warm, and welcoming office. The staff is professional, friendly, and efficient and Dr. Faircloth knows her stuff. I feel like my dental needs and the needs of my family are in good hands here.

I love coming to the dentist here! I’ve been coming here ever since I moved to Detroit in 2022. Michelle is the best hygienist, and I’m not just biased because we share a name :) I always leave with pearly whites and minimal to no pain. Everyone is super kind & patient. and Dr. Faircloth has helped me manage my grinding habit with a bite guard and has also helped make changes to it to make it more comfortable over time. I recommend this dentist office to anyone who asks for one!

I have been a patient of this dental practice for nearly 26 years, and unfortunately my most recent experience has left me deeply disappointed. I needed to reschedule an appointment within 24 hours due to an isolated and unavoidable situation. When I called, I was informed by the reception staff that I would be charged a $50 cancellation fee and that the fee must be paid before I could reschedule. I requested a return call from Dr. Faircloth to discuss the situation, especially given my long-standing loyalty as a patient. I was told that she was too busy to accept or return calls and that this was simply her policy. No consideration or flexibility was offered despite my nearly three decades as a patient. After explaining my long history with the practice and expressing my concerns, I requested that my dental records be sent to the practice that recently purchased this business. This experience made it clear that long-term patient relationships are not valued here. Based on this interaction, I would not recommend this practice. Patients should expect professionalism, empathy, and respect, especially after years of loyalty and unfortunately, that was not demonstrated.

I have had two visits at Harbortown Dental, and both have been great experiences. Scheduling with them has been exceptionally easy. The reception staff and hygienists are all incredibly nice. I’ve met both Dr Faircloth and Dr Tobar, and they have been very kind, informative, and practical with my care. The hygienist team is also very informative and great at answering questions. The location in Detroit is also very convenient with lots of parking.

This was by far the best dental experience of my life. The receptionist was kind and friendly. The hygienist Miss Veronica was equally so. Her cleaning was fantastic - gentle and comprehensive. I was not comfortable with the x-ray process and she put in additional efforts to move as quickly as possible. Doc Faircloth was super bubbly, had super great energy and was thorough in her exam as well. She made great observations, gave great compliments, and provided great recommendations. I’ve found my forever Detroit Dental crew. Grateful grateful.
