About Harmony Dental
Harmony Dental is a dental practice on West 98th Street in the West Bloomington area of Bloomington, Minnesota. A dental implant replaces a missing tooth at the root, not just the crown — a small titanium post is placed in the jaw bone and, once it has integrated over a period of months, a replacement tooth is attached to it. It is generally the most durable option for a single missing tooth or several.
Cosmetic treatment is generally the least invasive branch of dentistry, built around changing how teeth look rather than fixing something broken. Whitening and bonding sit at the lighter end; veneers and reshaping involve more planning. Most cosmetic dental insurance excludes this kind of work, since it is elective rather than medically necessary.
Professional teeth whitening uses a peroxide-based gel, applied under supervision at a strength stronger than anything sold over the counter, to lift years of staining from coffee, tea, red wine, and tobacco. It works on natural enamel only — existing crowns, veneers, and fillings keep whatever shade they were made in.
A family dental practice sees a range of ages under one roof, which for most households means fewer separate appointments across different offices. It typically covers routine checkups and restorative treatment for both children and adults, with referrals out for anything requiring specialist training.
Oral surgery covers procedures beyond routine treatment — surgical extractions including impacted wisdom teeth, implant placement, and bone grafting among the more common ones. The distinguishing feature is generally that tissue is opened and closed as part of the procedure, rather than treated at the surface.
Periodontics is the specialty focused on the gums and the bone supporting the teeth, handling more advanced gum disease, related surgical treatment, and — in many practices — dental implant placement, which sits naturally alongside that training. By far the best dentist office I've been too, Elizabeth is amazingly thorough, highly recommend.🙏
I would never go to any other dentist - my teeth are too important to me and Harmony Dental Team are absolutely fantastic. So knowledgable, latest equipment, and have my best interests in mind.
My experiences have always been personable staff, professional and empathetic.
Always a wonderful experience. I feel I’m in good hands at Harmony Dental. Highly recommend.
Dr. Huah was very thorough--he explained all of the options, and is very friendly, 100% attention to my care. Rachael and staff were very good as well. Highly recommend.
I was very impressed with the doctors and staff at Harmony Dental. They listened to my concerns (or, in this case, lack of concerns), and recommended waiting and keeping an eye on some potential concerns rather than proceeding with an expensive procedure. I appreciated their expertise and restraint.
We are so pleased Dr Person is our dentist! Her mastery of dentistry is impressive. She is gentle, considerate, patient and friendly. She explains procedures step by step and devotes special attention to our needs. We are grateful for the care she provides. The staff is excellent, as well; very courteous and professional. Harmony Dental takes excellent care of us!
An unbelievable and surprisingly better experience than expected. I’d give 6 stars if I could. Two crowns replaced, something more than a regular cleaning. Even though I popped one off the day after the work was done, Dr. Thou opened her clinic on a Saturday for me. I am a relatively new patient of Harmony Dental and have found them to have a professional practice second to none. I would highly recommend that you, your family and everyone you know come see for yourself.
This dental office appears to prioritize profit over patient care. In the past, my daughter and I were offered treatments that were unnecessary and incorrectly billed by Dr. Thou. That experience led me to stop visiting this clinic for two years. Recently, I returned for a cleaning and exam with a new dentist, Jason. During the visit, the hygienist was chewing gum all the time, which was unprofessional. More concerning, I was pressured to agree to full-mouth X-rays before any exam was performed and without clear medical justification. I had already provided X-rays taken at another clinic just 10 months earlier and requested imaging only for specific teeth. I would only take additional images if it was clinically necessary with clear justification after exam. I was told this was required by the Dental Association. That's not true - not in such case. I don’t want unnecessary radiation exposure and insurance usage which I may need for other treatments. Imagine if every doctor at annual exam ordered a full-body CT scan even when you have no symptoms, concerns, or medical reasons—just “to check in case there’s something hidden.” That’s ridiculous! That’s a clear insurance fraud. Ultimately, I chose to leave because I no longer trust this clinic’s approach to patient care.
