About Heartland Dentistry

Heartland Dentistry provides dental care on North Arkansas Avenue in Wichita, Kansas. At the core of a general dental practice is preventive and restorative care: checkups, professional cleanings, fillings, and screening for decay and gum disease before either becomes a bigger problem. It is the kind of appointment most people need on a routine schedule rather than only when something hurts.

Payment and insurance arrangements vary by practice and by treatment, so it is worth asking directly what is covered and what options exist for anything that is not, rather than assuming either way. Getting that clarified before treatment starts avoids surprises once it is underway.

Beyond any single treatment, most dental visits start with an examination — checking for decay, reviewing the gums, and looking at existing fillings or crowns — often alongside X-rays where there is a reason to look between or beneath teeth. That groundwork is what a dentist uses to explain any findings and set out next steps before you leave.

Routine attendance, roughly every six months for most people, is what actually keeps small problems small. A lot of decay and gum disease develops without any pain in its early stages, which is why regular checkups matter even when nothing seems to be wrong, rather than only booking an appointment once something hurts.

A first appointment at a new practice typically covers a full examination, a review of your dental and medical history, and a professional cleaning, with X-rays if you do not have recent ones. It is also a reasonable time to raise any longer-term concerns, cosmetic or otherwise, so they can be factored into a plan going forward.

Day-to-day oral health still comes down to the basics between visits — brushing twice daily with fluoride toothpaste, cleaning between the teeth, and limiting how often sugary food and drink appear through the day matters more than the total amount eaten at once. Regular professional care is what catches whatever those habits do not. So I called today January 9th 2026 and received a text back saying their office is closed permanently. This is the place that told me cavity fixes were only about $300 without insurance meanwhile aspen wants to charge me $800 after the insurance "50% coverage".

I wish to extend my sincere thanks for the outstanding service provided by Dr. G. My family has been dedicated patients for more than ten years. However, I have observed a recent shift towards a more corporate demeanor within the practice. Due to personal obligations, I had to reschedule a few cleaning appointments. Regrettably, the receptionist, Erica, exhibited a rather unpleasant and rigid stance regarding the new corporate regulations. Despite my long-standing patronage, I was informed that missing or rescheduling more than three appointments would lead to a loss of access to the doctor. Erica proceeded to outline unnecessary details and guidelines, which I found to be quite vexing. Following a brief discussion with Dr. G, I have opted to terminate our association with this practice due to the absence of a family-centered approach and the unprofessional conduct of Erica. It is crucial for businesses to bear in mind that customers are the ones who sustain them, not the other way around. I strongly recommend steering clear of Heartland due to their excessively corporate approach. The new corporate direction at Heartland dentistry does not align with the exceptional care provided by Dr. Graff and his team, who have always taken great care of my family and me. They have been a part of my children's upbringing and continue to assist in maintaining their dental health. Dr G when and if that time comes we hope see you on the other side you are truly family!!!

I have been coming to Doctor Graff’s office for two years now. He could tell within seconds of meeting me that I had anxiety about going to the dentist. He was intentional in making sure I was informed about my care every step of the way to reduce my anxiety. I no longer hate going to the dentist thanks to Doctor Graff and his amazing staff.

Monday morning ... my tooth is screaming at me and I need a dentist. Called Heartland and Karen asked if I could come in right then. That alone is AMAZING!! Everyone at Heartland is awesome! From Karen, Erica, Snow and the doctor. Dr. Andrew was very thorough. He explained everything and made sure I understood what was going on with my teeth. If you are looking for a dentist or an entire dental family, I would without a doubt recommend Heartland! Thank you to everyone at Heartland.

Best decision I ever made! The entire staff is extremely knowledgeable, personable, friendly, and professional. I'm always super nervous at the dentist, but they really know how to make you feel comfortable. I'm having major work done and Dr. Graff and Cori have walked me through everything and took the time to answer all of my questions with genuine concern, (and I had a lot of question). I went from tears to pure comfort. I love this team. Shannon and Karen always greet you with warm smiles and friendly conversation when you check in and out. If you are looking for a new dentist, this should be your first choice. My daughter even loves here. Give them a try, you won't regret it.
