About Heartwell Dental

Heartwell Dental operates on East Carson Street in the Lakewood Village area of Long Beach, California. Gum disease treatment ranges from a deeper professional cleaning for early inflammation through to more involved periodontal care once bone around the teeth has started to be affected. Bleeding gums are usually the earliest sign, and the early stage is reversible with proper cleaning and better daily plaque control.

Payment and insurance arrangements vary by practice and by treatment, so it is worth asking directly what is covered and what options exist for anything that is not, rather than assuming either way. Getting that clarified before treatment starts avoids surprises once it is underway.

Beyond any single treatment, most dental visits start with an examination — checking for decay, reviewing the gums, and looking at existing fillings or crowns — often alongside X-rays where there is a reason to look between or beneath teeth. That groundwork is what a dentist uses to explain any findings and set out next steps before you leave.

Routine attendance, roughly every six months for most people, is what actually keeps small problems small. A lot of decay and gum disease develops without any pain in its early stages, which is why regular checkups matter even when nothing seems to be wrong, rather than only booking an appointment once something hurts.

A first appointment at a new practice typically covers a full examination, a review of your dental and medical history, and a professional cleaning, with X-rays if you do not have recent ones. It is also a reasonable time to raise any longer-term concerns, cosmetic or otherwise, so they can be factored into a plan going forward.

Day-to-day oral health still comes down to the basics between visits — brushing twice daily with fluoride toothpaste, cleaning between the teeth, and limiting how often sugary food and drink appear through the day matters more than the total amount eaten at once. Regular professional care is what catches whatever those habits do not. Use this page to find contact information for Heartwell Dental and to see its full range of services before getting in touch.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where is Heartwell Dental located in Long Beach?
Heartwell Dental is on East Carson Street in the Lakewood Village area of Long Beach, California (90808).
What days is Heartwell Dental open?
Heartwell Dental is open Monday through Friday. Contact the practice through this page to confirm current appointment times before travelling.
What services does Heartwell Dental offer?
Listed services at Heartwell Dental include Gum Disease Treatment. The full list is shown on this page.
What are the early signs of gum disease?
Gums that bleed when brushing or flossing, redness and puffiness along the gumline, and persistent bad breath are the usual first indicators. Bleeding is the one most often dismissed, and it is the clearest early warning.
Why do my gums bleed even though I brush twice a day?
Bleeding usually reflects where you are cleaning rather than how often. Plaque left along the gumline and between teeth causes inflammation there, which is exactly the area brushing alone tends to miss, so flossing or interdental brushes matter.
What causes bad breath and can a dentist help?
Persistent bad breath most often comes from bacteria on the tongue and around the gumline, and gum disease is a frequent underlying cause. Because it is usually oral in origin, a dental examination is a sensible first step.

They were prompt, professional, friendly and very welcoming. When I walked into the waiting room it looked like a comfortable living room with some style. They were nice in accommodating my concerns. The Dentist explained everything with a clear plan. The assistant and Hygenist were cool and easy to talk to….they were also very nice when explaining each step. I’m so happy to find a competent dentist with friendly staff that is so close to me!

Heartwell dental is INCREDIBLE! My 2 kids and I went in this afternoon for a cleaning/checkup. The staff was so patient and kind with my hesitant 4 year old…. By the end of his cleaning he had a new best friend in Dr. Girgis. The hygienists were also amazing with my kids (and me!)! As a mom, nothing is better than feeling like a business not only welcomed your children but genuinely were happy they were there! Our cleanings were all great and we are scheduled again in 6 months! The office is clean and pretty, the staff are 10/10…we will never go anywhere else! Thanks Dr. Girgis and staff!!

I was in pain and needed an urgent appointment, and Dr. Abraham and the entire team were super welcoming. I checked in quickly, had an X-ray, and Dr. Abraham explained exactly what the issue was and the different options to fix it. He was really clear and helpful. I would definitely recommend Heartwell Dental! Bonus tip: I had to bring my nephew along, and they have a kid's zone with books and games to keep little ones entertained!

Dr. Girgis is simply the best. The entire team is kind and informative. If you have nerves around the dentist this is the dental practice for you. The waiting room is warm and inviting for adults and children. They have all the latest equipment when it comes to sitting in the dental chair too! Something that stood out recently: I recently needed to reschedule my checkup and the only availability was about a month later so I booked. What I loved was that an opening came up sooner, I got a text from the office letting me know earlier options and was able to get in WEEKS earlier than what my rescheduled appointment originally was.
