About hi-5 Children's Dentistry Orlando

hi-5 Children's Dentistry Orlando is a dental practice on Lee Vista Boulevard in the Vista East area of Orlando, Florida. Pediatric dental care is built around treating children specifically — dentists with additional training in child development and behaviour management, and offices designed to make a first visit unintimidating. Guidance generally points to a child's first dental visit around age one or within six months of the first tooth.

A sealant is a thin protective coating applied to the chewing surfaces of the back teeth, where the deep grooves collect plaque and food that brushing struggles to reach. It is most often applied to children's permanent molars shortly after they come through, though adults can benefit too.

A professional cleaning removes the plaque and hardened tartar that brushing and flossing cannot reach, particularly along the gumline, and is the core of routine preventive care. Most people benefit from a cleaning roughly every six months, more often for those managing gum disease.

Tooth Decay Treatment is also among the treatments offered here, and the practice can explain what it involves and whether it fits your situation at a consultation.

Continuity matters in dental care — seeing the same practice over time means your history, X-rays, and any patterns in your oral health are already on file, rather than starting from scratch at each visit. That familiarity is part of what a regular dental home offers beyond any single appointment.

Dental anxiety is common, and most practices are used to working with nervous patients — through clear explanations of what is about to happen, a slower pace where needed, and sedation options for patients who want them. Avoiding the dentist out of anxiety tends to make eventual treatment more involved, not less.

Children benefit from starting dental visits early, generally by their first birthday or within six months of the first tooth coming through, mainly so they become familiar with the setting before any treatment is actually needed. Establishing that routine early tends to make ongoing checkups far less stressful for both child and parent. What does a paediatric dentist do differently?
They complete additional training focused on children — how teeth develop, how to manage anxiety and behaviour in the chair, and conditions specific to young patients. The practical difference is usually as much about handling the visit as the treatment itself.
When do children start losing baby teeth?
Usually from around age six, continuing until roughly age twelve, though the timing varies widely between children. Adult molars also come through at the back around age six without any baby tooth falling out first.
Do sealants replace the need for brushing?
No. Sealants protect the chewing surfaces specifically, but the sides of the teeth and the gumline still need regular brushing and flossing — a sealant only covers part of the tooth.

My daughter has been coming here for four years now. The reason I continue to come back it’s because of the great service provided, and how gentle the entire staff has always been. The place is always well cleaned as well. Today my baby was a little nervous but when she got to the back, Andrea was so kind and well spoken not forgetting gentle with her that all her nervousness went away. Then when Mary did her cleaning she walked her through the step of what was about to take place and after that everything else was perfectly fine. The Dentist doctor Brachio- Pacheco her self has always been great and very informative. I love coming here and will always recommend friends and family. Thanks for all what you guys do.
