About Houston Dental Implant & Cosmetic Center

Full-arch implant work is priced per arch, and the spread between quotes across the Houston area is wide enough to be genuinely confusing. What moves the number is rarely the implants themselves. It is the material of the final bridge, how many fixtures support it, whether grafting or a sinus lift is required, and whether the practice fabricates the prosthesis in its own laboratory or sends it out. A temporary acrylic bridge worn during healing is not the same object as the definitive zirconia one that eventually replaces it, so a quote that omits the second is not comparable to a quote that includes it. Ask for the plan broken into stages, with what each stage delivers and what it costs, rather than a single headline figure.

Houston Dental Implant & Cosmetic Center is a prosthodontist-led practice. Drs. Giancarlo Romero, Carlos Soucy, Carlos Sierra, and Karen Clemente work from 4548 Bissonnet Street, Suite 300, in Bellaire, just inside the 610 Loop and a short drive from West University Place, Meyerland, and the Texas Medical Center. Prosthodontics is the specialty concerned with replacing and restoring teeth, which is why full mouth reconstruction, dentures, porcelain veneers, gummy smile correction, and treatment for ectodermal dysplasia all sit under one roof here rather than being referred out.

The first appointment is diagnostic. Cone beam CT maps bone and anatomy, an intraoral scanner replaces impression putty, and Bellus3D facial scanning lets tooth design be planned against your actual face rather than a cast in isolation. For full-arch cases the practice uses photogrammetry, a PIC camera that records implant positions optically, which removes the distortion conventional impressions introduce across a long span. The in-house laboratory then builds and adjusts the prosthesis on site, which shortens the loop between a fit problem and its fix.

The team works in English and Spanish. Hours are Monday through Thursday, nine to four, with Friday mornings only until noon, so surgical and long restorative appointments are best scheduled early in the week.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does a prosthodontist do that a general dentist does not?
Prosthodontics is a recognized specialty requiring three additional years of training after dental school, focused on replacing and restoring teeth. That covers crowns, bridges, veneers, dentures, implant-supported prostheses, and full mouth reconstruction. The distinction matters most in complex cases: rebuilding an entire bite, matching a single front tooth to its neighbors, or restoring a full arch on implants, where planning the final result before any surgery happens is what determines the outcome.
Why does this practice use photogrammetry for full-arch cases?
Conventional impressions distort slightly across a long span, and on a full arch supported by several implants even a small error prevents the framework seating passively, which stresses the implants. The PIC camera records implant positions optically instead, capturing their relative angles and distances without material shrinkage. Combined with cone beam CT and facial scanning, it gives the in-house laboratory a more accurate starting point for a prosthesis that fits the first time.
How long does a full-arch implant case take from start to finish?
Usually several months, sometimes closer to a year. Implants are placed and a temporary bridge is often fitted early so you are not without teeth, but the bone needs months to integrate with the fixtures before the definitive prosthesis is made. Grafting or a sinus lift adds further time before placement can even begin. The temporary is deliberately provisional; treating it as the finished result is a common misunderstanding worth clearing up at consultation.

Dr. Romero has been my prosthodontist since October 2007. He put three teeth on two implants back then. Last year, he added one more implant, after bone had been added to the site and healed. I still have my three original prosthetic teeth in good condition. Dr. Romero is very knowledgeable, friendly, and explains every step. He uses the latest technology which saves time for both his patients and himself. His office staff is also highly experienced. I highly recommend his practice.

He explained every step of the process, I never experienced any pain and I never once felt worried or scared—I knew I was in the best hands. His staff is professional, kind, and efficient, always thoughtful and mindful of patient comfort and privacy. There was never a crowded waiting room, which made the entire experience feel calm and personal. This office sets the standard for care, skill, and compassion. After going to 3 other specialists that told me my issue was beyond their expertise, Dr Soucy was recommended. From my first visit I was so enthused that even though he recognized the seriousness of what I needed done, I felt confident he could correct my problem. He has been thorough, completely followed through of what needed to be done. Now after many appointments I’m completely satisfied with the results and now eating with no problems and with teeth that look so natural and comfortable. I knew from the first day the cost and I’ve had follow up visits to make sure everything was great and not charged extra. Highly recommend him and all his staff are wonderful.
