Completely wasted my time. Spent 2 days and had to take off work. 5 hours total. They told me first day they could do a night guard. That's all I wanted. Then the orthodontist is saying I need my whole mouth reconstructed. I can't afford anything like that right now. A night guard would at least help with the wear on my teeth from grinding. There is no reason you shouldn't be able to do this for me. Thanks for wasting my time and just using me as a guinea pig without actually giving me the care you 100% could have given me. I only came here to save money on the guard. Last time I'll ever come to a dental school. That was the worst experience I've ever had with a dentist. I will go back to my private practice dentist who was already going to do this for me, for a much higher price unfortunately. I legitimately would have benefited from that night gaurd. That's just a fact. Why they won't do that for me makes no sense

What can I say bad about this place? The dental students took really good care of me in my time of need. I'm more than 100% satisfied and I will be making this place my dental home in the future.

The Student Drs and staff are doing a great job of transferring knowledge. My providers exhibit a great deal of empathy, caring, and kindness. They will become the next great professionals. Bravo Zulu to them all.

Tried to schedule sn appointment, prices apparently are some type of secret code... asked for cleaning price 2 emails later, told $40-500." WHAT? So just bring an open wallet? Huh? Ok, so trying to patronize BOB, HBCU means paying whatever? Cool, I just scheduled at a non HBCU dentist, got an actual price of $79 for cleaning and x-rays. 1 appointment, don't have to come in for a screening, don't have to budget up to $500 for a cleaning. Not sure why Howard has prices with no transparency. I get it's a teaching facility, not sure why that means I'd need 2 appointments for a routine cleaning or why a cleaning would be $500. I should have read the other reviews before wasting my time trying to schedule. Seems to be a 50:50 chance of getting horrible service. Likely dodged a bullet and saved myself the aggravation.

i was and am so pleased with care i received at this school first time came to get my tooth removed i had to go and get the okay from my cardiologist these guys so caring that they reached out to me and asked did i get the okay from that point on i knew was in great hands and was i ever they did a wonderful job and here's there names Doctor Lawence Student Dr Makayla Nichols Ms Sheray

On 1/14/26, I visited this location (emergency unit) to have what I thought would be a simple tooth extraction. From the moment I walked in, the front desk clerk, Dominque was so welcoming, professional, and super efficient. I was impressed by her multi tasking skills. After the staff reviewed the X-rays, they recommended oral surgery due to the condition of the tooth. This caused me to become extremely anxious and worried that I would have to continue trying to function with increasing pain from an infected tooth, until I could schedule a surgery. A lovely dental assistant by the name of Sheray witnessed me in distress and immediately came to check on me and assured me that everything would be okay. I know that is part of her job but her energy and spirit is what made me feel better and eventually calm down. She is truly amazing! I'm not sure what her title is but her initials are TB (the same as mine) she was overseeing the dental assistant who was treating me. She was very knowledgeable about my treatment and went above and beyond to ensure that I was able to get the surgery done the SAME DAY. The surgeon who performed the procedure made sure I was as comfortable as possible, under the circumstances. It completed quickly and was actually painless. I didn't have much swelling or bleeding. I'm healing quite nicely and looking forward to my follow up appointment. Thank you to EVERYONE who ASSISTED me that day. I was very disappointed with the front desk person.I spent 3 hours there wasted practically ignored only to hear and see five people who came in after me get help. According to the Dept Head it was first come first served but not for me. Finally to be told that because there was no students I would not be seen. I arrived at 12:15 spoke with department head while desk staff was heading to lunch. She told me she would look at my tooth to see if she could help me .Upon returning front desk staff proceeded to say they would only see 4 people , as she call the two men who were there when I arrived I was next , she then called three other people including a female who came 30 minutes after me up before me. She stated oh you been here before we’ll find someone for you over and over again even two young men who were there in the morning and came back. It wouldn’t not have been unheard of if for not the way she continually called people she knew came in after me as she said it when she gave me the form to complete. I knew I wasn’t going to be helped when she came back from lunch and she never acknowledged me until after she called other people before me saying oh you was here before I went to lunch. No one answers the appointment line no one was available to assist me and I was treated very poorly and unprofessionally while all along trying to get help for my tooth. Because I wasn’t arguing being aggressive or rude doesn’t mean I didn’t deserve respect. I took my form after she randomly said we have no one left for the rest of you at 3:23pm.
