About Implant & Periodontics Solutions

Implant & Periodontics Solutions operates on West Camino Del Sol in the Sun City West Commercial Core area of Sun City West, Arizona. Periodontics is the specialty focused on the gums and the bone supporting the teeth, handling more advanced gum disease, related surgical treatment, and — in many practices — dental implant placement, which sits naturally alongside that training.

Dental anxiety is common, and most practices are used to working with nervous patients — through clear explanations of what is about to happen, a slower pace where needed, and sedation options for patients who want them. Avoiding the dentist out of anxiety tends to make eventual treatment more involved, not less.

Children benefit from starting dental visits early, generally by their first birthday or within six months of the first tooth coming through, mainly so they become familiar with the setting before any treatment is actually needed. Establishing that routine early tends to make ongoing checkups far less stressful for both child and parent.

Payment and insurance arrangements vary by practice and by treatment, so it is worth asking directly what is covered and what options exist for anything that is not, rather than assuming either way. Getting that clarified before treatment starts avoids surprises once it is underway.

Beyond any single treatment, most dental visits start with an examination — checking for decay, reviewing the gums, and looking at existing fillings or crowns — often alongside X-rays where there is a reason to look between or beneath teeth. That groundwork is what a dentist uses to explain any findings and set out next steps before you leave.

Routine attendance, roughly every six months for most people, is what actually keeps small problems small. A lot of decay and gum disease develops without any pain in its early stages, which is why regular checkups matter even when nothing seems to be wrong, rather than only booking an appointment once something hurts. Can a periodontist save a loose tooth?
Sometimes. If the looseness comes from bone loss around the tooth, deep cleaning and periodontal treatment can stabilise it, though the outcome depends on how much support has already been lost.
What is gum recession and can it be treated?
Recession is when gum tissue pulls back and exposes more of the tooth root, often from aggressive brushing, gum disease, or grinding. Grafting procedures can cover exposed roots, though how well that works depends on the extent of the recession.
What happens during a routine dental examination?
The dentist checks the teeth for decay, examines the gums, looks at any existing fillings and crowns, and screens the soft tissues. X-rays are taken when there is a reason to look between or beneath teeth.

I had an infected molar that already had a root canalx2. Dr Trinh got me in the same day and pulled my tooth at the first appointment. He did a cadaver bone graft and an implant. Everything went terrific. I healed well and no pain after the first day! His staff was excellent and very attentive. For being a tooth problem, this was an excellent experience.

UPDATE: Dr. Trinh’s dedication to his patients’ full satisfaction (and his own) was something I’ve never seen in my 60 years of dental services. He ensured he had one last follow-up post-implant within 5 days of my November 2025 implant by my DDS. He charged me no more than the original, all-inclusive rate quoted at the beginning of my visit with him in March 2025! His detailed, measurements and notes to the implant manufacturer were 2 pages long, and provided as a courtesy, saving me money since I didn’t have to pay for the DDS to take impressions. The final result was SPECTACULAR!!! I love this doctor, his office staff and dedication!!! I’m sure you will too! INITIAL POST: Dr. Trinh did a fantastic job! His communication and education eased my worries (as did the pre surgery meds), he was thoughtful in his pre-work (temporary tooth match, implant placement with modeling in conjunction with the professionals who cast my temporary cap, etc) and his pricing was explained thoroughly including a “all in” total cost so I could plan accordingly. His total cost included multiple follow ups for progress checks, removal of temporary stitches, as well as a final review before release to the DDS for placement of permanent cap. His team was personable, professional and kind. I know each person’s situation is different based on their circumstances but based on mine I would highly recommend Dr. Owen Trinh and team! Btw…heard he is now qualified in AZ to provide general anesthesia for those longer, more complicated surgeries (probably passes with ease since he was already qualified in other states).

I was referred to Dr. Trinh by my dentist for a molar extraction and bone growth procedure. Dr. Trinh provided me with two recommendations and completely explained each choice. He was very detailed in his explanations and made each technique very easy to understand. I elected to have an implant placed after the bone placement was fully developed. Dr. Trinh is very meticulous and keeps you informed during each stage of your procedure. His office support staff and assistants were always pleasant and supportive during my office visits. I would highly recommend Dr. Trinh for any of your future implant or periodontics requirements.

It has been a very comfortable experience having gone through the procedure of getting a dental implant! Right away the entire office made me feel welcome, they are so nice. After my evaluation, Dr. Kammeyer sat down with me and explained the procedure and welcomed all my questions. After the procedure, that evening Dr. Kammeyer called me to see how I was doing. I told him, "I do not think he did anything, I do not feel pain". I did not need to use any of the back-up pain medication prescribed. The time I will get my crown will be shorter than I had expected. Past implants took about 3 months longer. I am very happy I went to Solutions Dental Implants for my new tooth!
