strongly recommend getting a second opinion before agreeing to major treatment here. I originally went to Independence Family Dentistry expecting a cleaning and an evaluation of a damaged tooth. I did not receive the cleaning. Instead, I left with an extensive treatment plan involving thousands of dollars in proposed work, including a root canal, crown, deep cleaning, laser treatment, and sedation. After I emailed the office about my concerns, they specifically wrote back that they “would suggest doing the root canal and crown first on #14.” I did not feel comfortable moving forward, so I went to another dentist for a second opinion. That dentist specifically evaluated the same tooth and determined that I did not need a root canal. They successfully treated the tooth with a crown only, and the tooth has been doing well. That is what permanently destroyed my trust in Independence Family Dentistry. A root canal is an irreversible procedure. Had I simply accepted their recommendation, I could have undergone an invasive treatment that another dentist determined was unnecessary. The rest of my experience was also frustrating. There were multiple delays, repeated transitions between staff, confusion during imaging, concerns about equipment being handled without gloves, and I was never given a clear explanation of what treatment was truly urgent versus optional. I also went in expecting a cleaning and never actually received one. What bothered me most was how quickly the visit turned into a large and expensive treatment plan without me feeling that the recommendations were clearly justified or explained. I cannot speak for anyone else’s dental situation, but after my experience I looked through other Google reviews and online discussions and saw several people describing concerns that sounded uncomfortably similar. Recently, the office called asking when I wanted to come back. I told them I will never return. The best decision I made regarding my treatment was getting a second opinion. It saved me from a root canal that another dentist determined I did not need.

Mary Beth literally gave me the most thorough teeth cleaning I’ve ever had. She was also very conscientious regarding my comfort throughout. Great experience!

If I could give 10 stars I would!! Dr.Nakhla was very knowledgeable and patient with my daughter. This was her first ever dental appointment and he kept her calm and at ease the entire time! Courtney at the front desk was absolutely amazing! She came to the back and turned on paw patrol for her to watch and even let her get 2 toys out of the treasure chest for being such a brave girl. 100% recommend!!

I have visited independence family dentistry several times and they are always top notch when it comes to service, they are very cordial and make you feel comfortable. Dr Nakhla is the best and his assistants Are always great at what they do. Recently I was taken care of by Dr Nakhla and Lexi and she was amazing as always Donna

I can’t say enough great things about IFD. The receptionist was so kind and helpful during my first visit. Dr. Nakhla took the time to listen to my concerns and fears and made me feel so much more at ease. Courtney was wonderful going over my treatment options and was able to answer all of my finance questions and was so patient and kind with me. Truly everyone here is amazing and I can’t thank you all enough for giving me my smile back!!!

Bridgette was amazing checking me in and helping me with the whole payment process. The dental assistants Nikki and Lexi were amazing, put my mind at ease and made me feel comfortable. Dr Nakhla is the best! I have always had a fear of the novacaine shot, but he did amazing to where I barely felt it. Glad I came to this dentist office.

Everyone at this office has been great and friendly. Sage and Mary Beth do a wonderful job. I am a very anxious patient and Mary Beth was amazing. She told me what she was going to do and was very gentle. She cares about her patients and is great at her job!

Sage, the assistant was very attentive, gave good advice , and super friendly . Mary Beth the hygienist was exceptional, gentle, thorough, and very personable. She did an excellent job and made my cleaning a comfortable experience. The whole staff was welcoming, and I truly felt well cared for, after having two amazing people I was welcomed in by a third Dr.Nakhla , who was very friendly and took time to answer my questions . I have been coming here for about 3 years now and have always had a good experience. I have some anxiety about some things and also health issues that require accomadation. They have always been patient with me. Stephanie is a very hardworking and thorough hygenist. I appreciate her efforts. Dr. Danny is very effecient. You can tell he really knows his stuff! Elexis the assistant was great! She works hard to be sure you are informed and comfortable. The office staff has always been great with me. Shout out to Courtney! Great job you are appreciated
