About Institute for Advanced Dentistry and Implants

Institute for Advanced Dentistry and Implants is a dental practice on North 94th Drive in Peoria, Arizona. Periodontics is the specialty focused on the gums and the bone supporting the teeth, handling more advanced gum disease, related surgical treatment, and — in many practices — dental implant placement, which sits naturally alongside that training.

Continuity matters in dental care — seeing the same practice over time means your history, X-rays, and any patterns in your oral health are already on file, rather than starting from scratch at each visit. That familiarity is part of what a regular dental home offers beyond any single appointment.

Dental anxiety is common, and most practices are used to working with nervous patients — through clear explanations of what is about to happen, a slower pace where needed, and sedation options for patients who want them. Avoiding the dentist out of anxiety tends to make eventual treatment more involved, not less.

Children benefit from starting dental visits early, generally by their first birthday or within six months of the first tooth coming through, mainly so they become familiar with the setting before any treatment is actually needed. Establishing that routine early tends to make ongoing checkups far less stressful for both child and parent.

Payment and insurance arrangements vary by practice and by treatment, so it is worth asking directly what is covered and what options exist for anything that is not, rather than assuming either way. Getting that clarified before treatment starts avoids surprises once it is underway.

Beyond any single treatment, most dental visits start with an examination — checking for decay, reviewing the gums, and looking at existing fillings or crowns — often alongside X-rays where there is a reason to look between or beneath teeth. That groundwork is what a dentist uses to explain any findings and set out next steps before you leave. What services does Institute for Advanced Dentistry and Implants offer?
Listed services at Institute for Advanced Dentistry and Implants include Periodontics. The full list is shown on this page.
When should I see a periodontist instead of a general dentist?
Usually on referral, when gum disease has advanced beyond what routine treatment is resolving — deep pockets, ongoing bone loss, or gum recession needing surgical management.
What is gum recession and can it be treated?
Recession is when gum tissue pulls back and exposes more of the tooth root, often from aggressive brushing, gum disease, or grinding. Grafting procedures can cover exposed roots, though how well that works depends on the extent of the recession.
How often should I have a dental check-up?
Every six months suits most people. If you have gum disease or a history of decay a dentist may suggest coming more often. The point of regular visits is mostly to catch problems while they are still small and cheap to treat.

Went to Advanced Dentistry today for my second cleaning since I had my implant procedure. To say I was impressed with their latest technology of how to clean teeth would be an understatement. To put it into the simplest terms the new procedure is like a high pressure washer for cleaning teeth. They first die your teeth prior to starting this gives them a clear indication on where to concentrate their efforts during the cleaning process. They showed me before, during and after the dieing and cleaning procedure. The results were amazing, I could see and confirm, that all the plaque was gone after this procedure, would recommend this procedure to any and all patients of Advanced Dentistry. Dr. Ben and his staff continue to impress me with their professionalism, candor and complete dedication to doing whatever it takes to make you feel like the most important person in their care before, during and after your visit. Another job well done by all who take pride in being associated with Advanced Dentistry🦷 👏 👍😁

I was referred to Dr. Bensoussan by two dentists to fix a complicated, ongoing implant issue – and I’m so glad I was. He is exceptional. His expertise, precision, and confidence are unmatched, and I felt completely taken care of every step of the way. I love my new implant – it feels strong and seamless. My teenager would call it “tuff.” It’s actually the same tooth that broke when I was pregnant with him. Bittersweet to say goodbye to his office - at least for this tooth, but incredibly grateful. Dr. Bensoussan and his team are on another level. Also, bonus points for the fabulously stocked mini fridge.

Today I had my teeth cleaned and had a general exam for my 6 month check-up. Met Vicki for the first time and she was extremely thorough and careful. She communicates well and told me what she was going to do through each step, which I truly appreciate. Dr. Bensoussan reviewed my latest x-rays and after examining my teeth gave feedback on my overall dental health, which is excellent.
