About Jackson Dental Clinic

North Mart Plaza is a modest retail cluster off Northside Drive in north Jackson, and Jackson Dental Clinic occupies number 345 there, in the 39206 ZIP. It is an unglamorous setting with a real advantage: surface parking directly outside, a short hop from Interstate 55, and no lobby or elevator to negotiate. That suits older patients and anyone traveling with a family member, which matters more than usual here, because tooth replacement is the practice's center of gravity. The trade-off is a compact week, running Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to about 3:30 p.m. with the office closed over the lunch hour, and nothing on Friday or the weekend.

Kenneth A. Bailey, DDS has built the practice around dentures and the surgery that precedes them, and the implant overdenture is the option most worth explaining. Two to four implants are placed in the jaw and fitted with attachments, and the denture then clips onto those instead of relying on suction and the shape of the ridge. For a lower denture, which has no palate to hold it and floats on a narrow ridge, that is the single biggest improvement in stability available. It still comes out at night for cleaning, and the nylon inserts that grip the attachments wear with use and need replacing every year or two, so treat it as a small ongoing cost rather than a one-off purchase.

Conventional complete and partial dentures are made here as well, along with the extractions that often come first, so removal and replacement stay under one roof. Expect the fit to change: gum and bone reshape for months after teeth are removed, and at least one reline is normal rather than a sign that something went wrong.

The rest is standard general dentistry: exams, x-rays and cleanings, crowns and bridges, and composite fillings color-matched to the surrounding enamel rather than announcing themselves. The cosmetic side runs to porcelain veneers, porcelain inlays, bonding, contouring and whitening. Same-day appointments are kept for emergencies, though with a short day and a four-day week, calling first thing gives the best chance of getting one.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is an implant overdenture different from a regular denture?
Two to four implants are placed in the jaw and fitted with attachments. The denture clips onto them, so it resists the lifting and rocking that makes a lower conventional denture hard to live with, while still coming out for cleaning at night. The trade-off is maintenance: the nylon inserts that grip the attachments wear down with use and need replacing roughly every year or two.
Can I be seen the same day for a broken or painful tooth?
The practice keeps room for same-day emergency appointments, but the schedule is narrow, running Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to mid-afternoon with the office closed over lunch. Calling first thing gives the best chance of a slot. Bring a list of your medications, and if swelling has closed an eye or is affecting swallowing, treat that as a hospital problem rather than a dental one.
What denture options are available at this office?
Complete dentures replace a full arch, partial dentures fill gaps around remaining teeth, and implant overdentures add fixtures underneath for retention. Dr. Kenneth Bailey also handles the extractions that often come first, so removal and the appliance stay in one place. Fit changes as gums heal and shrink over the months after extraction, so plan on at least one reline being part of the process.

As a person with dental anxiety Dr. Bailey did a phenomenal job extracting my lower back molar. Yes he is moving fast because there's much to do but from my experience as long as you know what you want you should be fine. He numbed me up well and ripped that sucka out

I went to Jackson dental in January for his service...He be moving too fast because he's trying to get to the next patient and he really don't take what you say into consideration because he's moving so fast .I live like hour away from his office and I have made like 4 to 5 trips so they can keep trying to fix my top denture he made in January. It's to the point my bite is off big time I'm walking around like I have a big over bite and need braces because he said it was nothing else he can do about the bite. So I went to another dentist and now I'm in the process of getting a replacement ....But I will say everyone there was very nice..... BUT MONEY LOST !

This has been the worst experience I went there to get one of my golds redone. The first time the dental assistant only did an impression of my top teeth and the gold came back all big and bulky. So they send it off to be corrected (this time) they did top and bottom impressions however, when the gold crown came back, who ever they sent it to did the gold on the bottom instead of the top as requested. So the dentist tells me “ oh this is a new guy we’ve been trying and he’s been messing up so we’re sending yours to the old guy we were using at first or we can give you a refund.” But my tooth is already filed I have missed work to come here and you wont even give me some of my money back for the inconvenience!!!! He begins to explain about lab fees they have to pay. Sir that has nothing to do with me blame your staff for not doing it right the FIRST time. I will NOT BE BACK TO THIS DENTIST!
