Jacksonville Complete Dentistry

I went to this practice for its advertised $199 new patient special, which included X-rays, a cleaning, and an exam. Instead, I was told I had gingivitis and needed a $400 deep cleaning. When I questioned this, I was told the $199 special was “for healthy mouths.” They refused to perform a regular cleaning, so I walked out. I sought a second opinion, and another dentist confirmed that I did not need the deep cleaning. The entire experience felt like a money grab, which is especially troubling in a healthcare setting. Patients should be able to trust that diagnoses and treatment decisions are based on genuine medical necessity, not revenue generation. Healthcare should be about patient care, not sales. Luckily, I am confident enough to question a provider and walk away. But many patients feel intimidated when a dental professional tells them they need treatment. Had I not stood my ground, I could have paid $400 for a procedure another dentist confirmed I did not need. Advertising a $199 special to attract uninsured patients, then refusing to provide the advertised regular cleaning and insisting on a service costing twice as much, raises serious concerns. If the special has restrictions, they should be clearly disclosed upfront, not after patients are already in the chair. The website states the $199 price applies only in the absence of periodontal disease. Gingivitis is an early form of periodontal disease, but many patients may not realize that the term applies to a condition commonly associated with bleeding or inflamed gums, rather than only the more advanced disease many people envision when they hear “periodontal disease.” Gingivitis is extremely common. Estimates often suggest that a large majority of adults experience it at some point. It is reasonable to question whether patients, particularly those without insurance who are seeking affordable dental care, fully understand that a condition as common as gingivitis could disqualify them from the advertised special.

Ravon is my favorite dental hygienist. She did my cleaning today. She is very knowledgeable about her profession. Very gentle, friendly, and have that ability to comfort her patients that I don’t feel any pain. Her hands are so light like a feather like doing a magic trick.

I can't say enough great things about Jacksonville Complete Dentistry. I recommended them to a friend today! During a recent visit I had to have an old filling removed and a crown prep - and Dr. Sam was spectacular! If you have anxiety about dental care and dentist office visits, Jacksonville Complete Dentistry is for you! I felt nothing - no pain, not even a twinge. I didn't even feel the initial shot. Procedure was smooth and easy. Shay was the perfect assistant for Dr. Sam - whole process was excellent. Thanks, JCD!

Hello One and all I’ve been a patient of Dr. Barker for a few years now I’ve also had the pleasure of seeing other dentists as well. Dr. Barker is kind, compassionate understanding and very thorough. He’s been very helpful even with an emergency situation where he brought me in immediately I can’t ask for more than that. The facility is clean and Dr. Barker integrity is sound. He is highly respected and recommended and I’m thankful.

Overall experience was pleasant. I had a new patient appointment. The dentist seemed very knowledgeable. Front desk staff were very kind. They did lose track of my check in and I got called back 40 minutes past my arrival time. However, they were very apologetic and the team was efficient once getting me back for X-rays as they knew I needed to leave at certain time for work. I will continue services but maybe something I will be mindful of future visits. Mistakes happen and I understand that. Update: 10/1/2026 Had the opportunity to come back for my cleaning and it was amazing!! Once again front desk staff are exceptional, kind and helpful answering questions. My hygienist Ravon is an absolute baddie when it comes to teeth and gum health. She knows her stuff and we scheduled my next cleaning with her before I left. She made me feel brand new with my fresh teeth and chatting with her along the way made the experience better.

Ravon was excellent and professional when she gave my cleaning. Gentle and not scary, was a very good experience and I thought it was cool that Jacksonville complete dentistry gave me a water bottle and some dental goodies to take home. Excellent staff and very friendly. Highly recommend.
