About Jacksonville Dental Specialists

Jacksonville Dental Specialists operates on Lake Mead Avenue in the Deerwood area of Jacksonville, Florida. Dentures replace some or all of the natural teeth in a jaw with a removable appliance, custom-fitted to the mouth. A full denture replaces every tooth; a partial fills gaps where some natural teeth remain. Because the jaw bone reshapes over time, dentures typically need adjusting or remaking periodically.

Day-to-day oral health still comes down to the basics between visits — brushing twice daily with fluoride toothpaste, cleaning between the teeth, and limiting how often sugary food and drink appear through the day matters more than the total amount eaten at once. Regular professional care is what catches whatever those habits do not.

Digital X-rays are a routine part of dental care because they show what a visual exam alone cannot — decay forming between teeth, bone loss below the gumline, and how developing adult teeth are positioned in children. They use a low radiation dose and are taken on a schedule matched to individual risk rather than at every single visit.

Left untreated, small dental problems tend not to stay small. A minor cavity that would have been a straightforward filling can progress to needing root canal treatment and a crown, and early gum inflammation that would have reversed with a good cleaning can progress toward bone loss around the teeth. Catching things early is generally the difference in both effort and cost.

Continuity matters in dental care — seeing the same practice over time means your history, X-rays, and any patterns in your oral health are already on file, rather than starting from scratch at each visit. That familiarity is part of what a regular dental home offers beyond any single appointment.

Dental anxiety is common, and most practices are used to working with nervous patients — through clear explanations of what is about to happen, a slower pace where needed, and sedation options for patients who want them. Avoiding the dentist out of anxiety tends to make eventual treatment more involved, not less. Frequently Asked Questions

Where is Jacksonville Dental Specialists located in Jacksonville?
Jacksonville Dental Specialists is on Lake Mead Avenue in the Deerwood area of Jacksonville, Florida (32256).
What days is Jacksonville Dental Specialists open?
Jacksonville Dental Specialists is open Monday through Friday. Contact the practice through this page to confirm current appointment times before travelling.
What services does Jacksonville Dental Specialists offer?
Listed services at Jacksonville Dental Specialists include Dentures. The full list is shown on this page.
Do dentures need to be replaced?
Yes, over time. The jaw bone gradually changes shape after teeth are lost, so a denture that fitted well originally becomes loose and needs relining or remaking to fit properly again.
What is the difference between full and partial dentures?
A full denture replaces all the teeth in a jaw, while a partial fills the gaps where some natural teeth remain and clips onto them for support. Which applies depends simply on how many teeth are left and their condition.
What causes bad breath and can a dentist help?
Persistent bad breath most often comes from bacteria on the tongue and around the gumline, and gum disease is a frequent underlying cause. Because it is usually oral in origin, a dental examination is a sensible first step.

I was very disappointed with my experience at this dental office. Communication was poor, and I often felt like my concerns were not being listened to or taken seriously. Scheduling was frustrating, with long wait times and difficulty getting clear answers from the staff. Horrible front desk people. I also felt that the office lacked professionalism and organization. Important information was not clearly explained, and I left feeling confused about my treatment and billing. As a patient, I expect to be treated with respect and transparency, and unfortunately that was not my experience here. I would not recommend this office based on my personal experience and hope they take steps to improve their patient care and communication.

I recently had full upper and lower arch replacements at Jacksonville Dental Specialists, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. Very little pain, smooth recovery, and an amazing, supportive team from start to finish. I absolutely love my new smile and highly recommend JDS to anyone considering this procedure. — Ken

Their lab uses material that breaks very easily. I’ve never seen so many broken hybrid prosthesis I’ve never seen so many crowns come off at a dental office.

Jax Dental Specialist is so professional and courteous. Dr Aguilar did an amazing job on my surgery and his bedside manners are spectacular! Dr. Norwicki is great as well! Then there is Angela. This wonderful soul is just the greatest! She takes care of me like I’m her own family. When I go to my appointments, I feel like she’s the Doctor! She makes me feel so comfortable! Love her. And although I was sedated for a long time. I didn’t forget how sweet and caring Glory is. Thank you all! You all are the greatest!

I was new patient and had my first scheduled appointment on 3 may at 0700. I missed a call from the office on 2 may I called back within 2-3 minutes. I called back only to get text messages. They waited to be within less than 24 hours to advise me the dr isn’t available at 7am. My appointment card which the mailed says 7am. I was referred by the VA to this office. They said they can try to fit me in later. I advised the office that I took off time from work for the time given of 7am. I advised them to canx the appointment and contacted community care via the Va to refer me somewhere that takes better care of first time patients and veterans. Obviously this place is not a new patient or veterans friendly office. Obviously they dont understand prior proper planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on mine !!!! They had my appointment scheduled for a few weeks it’s not like it was surprise or an emergency visit!!!! The issue was the doctor wasn’t available period. Really a magical water break issue come on do better !!! Saying there was a water break issue the day of my appointment after I already canceled!!!! What a place of business!!!!
