About Jamaica Estates Oral Surgery - Oral Surgery Specialists of New York
Based on Wexford Terrace in Queens, New York, Jamaica Estates Oral Surgery - Oral Surgery Specialists of New York is a dental practice serving the area. Wisdom teeth are removed when they are impacted, repeatedly infected, decayed, or damaging the tooth in front, since they arrive last and often into a jaw with no room left. Not every wisdom tooth needs to come out — one that erupts cleanly and can be kept clean is often left alone.
Digital X-rays are a routine part of dental care because they show what a visual exam alone cannot — decay forming between teeth, bone loss below the gumline, and how developing adult teeth are positioned in children. They use a low radiation dose and are taken on a schedule matched to individual risk rather than at every single visit.
Left untreated, small dental problems tend not to stay small. A minor cavity that would have been a straightforward filling can progress to needing root canal treatment and a crown, and early gum inflammation that would have reversed with a good cleaning can progress toward bone loss around the teeth. Catching things early is generally the difference in both effort and cost.
Continuity matters in dental care — seeing the same practice over time means your history, X-rays, and any patterns in your oral health are already on file, rather than starting from scratch at each visit. That familiarity is part of what a regular dental home offers beyond any single appointment.
Dental anxiety is common, and most practices are used to working with nervous patients — through clear explanations of what is about to happen, a slower pace where needed, and sedation options for patients who want them. Avoiding the dentist out of anxiety tends to make eventual treatment more involved, not less. They are easily the best dental experience I have ever had. From the reception team to the dental doctor doing my extraction. The had reasonable payment plan options for the work my insurance wouldn’t cover. I cannot rave enough about this team. If I ever need anything done again I will make the commute from Harlem to Queens to see these folks.
Everyone was great and my wisdom teeth extraction was easy and painless..I felt listened to and not rushed..I'm usually afraid of the dentist but they made me feel at ease..thanks a lot to everyone there... highly recommended
Amazing doctor and office. Appreciate everything
May, 20, 2026 Dr. Geneau is a phenomenal surgeon. I came to him after a nightmare experience elsewhere, and he immediately pinpointed the issue that others had missed or dismissed. His bedside manner is professional and thorough, and he takes the time to explain the surgical process clearly. The corrective surgery he performed today was a massive relief, and I feel confident knowing I am in such capable hands. He clearly prioritizes patient safety and clinical excellence over everything else with His staff service followed in lock step by their , professionalism. Courtney Brooks
Ms. Jessica at the front desk was amazing. She was very helpful, kind and patient. I really appreciate her helping me throughout the entire process. The dentist and his assistant was very good too. Thank you.
The staff were incredibly friendly and made me feel comfortable. I’m someone who is very anxious when coming to see the dentist. I had a molar extraction and it was 100%painless!! Definitely recommend coming here. Thank you to the staff and the Dr for a good experience!!
AMAZING EXPERIENCE! I came in for wisdom teeth extraction. All 4 wisdom teeth. I was extremely nervous but the staff was so nice. They calmed me down and I felt nothing. Doctor Michael was absolutely amazing. He walked me through everything as he was doing it. 10 out of 10 I recommend.
My experience at Jamaica Estates Oral Surgery was 10/10. Everyone was very friendly and professional. The whole process was pretty easy from scheduling the consultation to the day of my procedure. Dr. Michael was very informative during my consult. A week later, I went back for my procedure. Dr. Michael along with his assistant Crystal extracted my tooth. He’s gentle, efficient and quick. The extraction was painless, just slight pressure which is to be expected. Even though I opted for laughing gas, I would have been fine without it. With 15 years of experience in the dental field myself, it was different being on the other side of the chair. This office is a rare gem, especially when you don’t have the best paying insurance, like myself. I would recommend them to anyone.
