About Jefferson Dental & Orthodontics

Jefferson Dental & Orthodontics provides dental care on Potranco Road in the Far West Side area of San Antonio, Texas. Orthodontic treatment straightens teeth and corrects bite problems using braces, clear aligners, or similar appliances over a period that commonly runs from about a year to several years depending on the case. It is offered to both children, where early evaluation can catch developing issues, and adults at any age.

A professional cleaning removes the plaque and hardened tartar that brushing and flossing cannot reach, particularly along the gumline, and is the core of routine preventive care. Most people benefit from a cleaning roughly every six months, more often for those managing gum disease.

Affordable care means the practice sets out to make treatment accessible on a self-pay basis or through a payment arrangement, rather than assuming every patient arrives with comprehensive insurance. It is worth asking directly what options exist before assuming a needed treatment is out of reach.

General dentistry covers the routine and restorative care most people need most often — examinations, cleanings, fillings, and preventive checks that catch problems while they are still small and inexpensive to treat. Regular attendance, roughly every six months for most patients, is what makes that early-catch approach actually work.

Dental anxiety is common, and most practices are used to working with nervous patients — through clear explanations of what is about to happen, a slower pace where needed, and sedation options for patients who want them. Avoiding the dentist out of anxiety tends to make eventual treatment more involved, not less.

Children benefit from starting dental visits early, generally by their first birthday or within six months of the first tooth coming through, mainly so they become familiar with the setting before any treatment is actually needed. Establishing that routine early tends to make ongoing checkups far less stressful for both child and parent. Despite the great care by the staff I am fed up with the doctors. It’s been over a month since I’ve been scheduled for an extraction and the dentists keep pushing it back 3 times so far. I’ve already put a down payment and despite that…still no service. In fact, apart from the down payment, I was charged the entire sum as well and I had to refute the charge because the lady who handles the Sunbit contracts had denied that it was their clinic charging me the sum, but thankfully my bank and the Sunbit representatives had my back. To invest in $400 and $2,000 dollar payment plans and be met with lack of care is ridiculous. Sure enough my payments are being taken from Sunbit and yet here I am with no extraction and instead having to go to a different location with a different doctor just to receive the service I put funds into.

Excellent work- staff was very professional and knowledgeable while working with me. The staffing was great and so helpful. Thank you for greeting me with such enthusiasm and much kindness was appreciated. Dr Ogechi, Ash and Priscilla had compassionate words to share during my procedures. They all gave positive vibes and encouragement during my treatment and surgery. I am grateful and thankful that they were able to calm my anxiety during and after my surgery. .

The staff at this office deserve credit up front — the ladies working the floor were kind, accommodating, and genuinely seemed to care about their patients. That part of the experience was actually pleasant. Unfortunately, almost everything surrounding the in-chair experience is a mess, and it’s hard to recommend this place because of it. The biggest issue is that there is no way to reach the actual office. Every number they give you routes to a customer support / call center, and it’s abysmal. There’s always background noise on the line, the reps are hard to hear, and they aren’t helpful in any meaningful way. I’ve asked multiple times for my message to be marked urgent and been told, ‘Yes, you’ll get a call back soon.’ Days pass. Nothing. As of right now, I’m going on a week and a half of calling every single day, leaving voicemails and messages, and I have not received a single callback. The first line of support they’ve set up is completely broken. The second issue is the queue/check-in system inside the office. It’s backwards. People who checked in after me were seen before me, and my visit took nearly five hours start to finish just to be seen. To their credit, once I was actually in the chair the cleaning itself was quick and the staff were informative. But five hours is absurd, and looking at other low reviews here, I’m clearly not the only one experiencing it. I don’t know if some patients are just okay with three-to-four-hour waits at a dentist’s office, but that should not be normal. So to sum it up: nice people, completely broken systems. The foundation of this practice — customer support, office reachability, and wait times — is failing the patients the staff are trying to take care of. Until the franchise fixes how they handle calls and scheduling, I can’t recommend this location

They were very wonderful. The entire staff was kind and worked with me. I went in because I was having tooth pain. Ended up needing an extraction. In the entire time everyone was just very kind. Dr. Memapour, Ash, Mekayla and the T.C Irene. Thank You so much. Feeling much better thanks to all you. And again thank you for your kindness and your patience with me.

Done with the bull of always something or more money, daughter had braces for 7 years and not once would they adjust them just change bands smh they removed them probably cause they weren’t making money now apparently she needs braces again. lol what a joke. My youngest with baby teeth wanted fillings even though they were close to falling out smh. Crazy here! No more!!!

I like that I was able to get my teeth cleaned. The hygienist was very informative and cleaned my teeth thoroughly. I especially loved that the medical biller was able to work with me. My only issue was that I was taken back an hour after my appointment time but I guess with everything that they did it’s understandable that I was there for 3 in half hours.
