Dr. John F. Denison, DDS practices general dentistry at 2036 Regency Road in Lexington, Kentucky — a solo named-practitioner dental practice on the Regency Road corridor of southwest Lexington, ZIP 40503. Regency Road is a commercial and residential street in southwest Lexington — a city zone that contains the HealthFirst Bluegrass Southland Drive Clinic, the Brewer Family Dental and Gentle Care Cosmetic & Family Dentistry practices on Larkin Road, and the Ruccio Way professional corridor where Commonwealth Dentistry operates. ZIP 40503 encompasses much of southwest Lexington's interior residential and commercial fabric between the New Circle Road ring road and the Nicholasville Road arterial, and Regency Road's 2036 address places Dr. Denison's practice in this well-developed southwest Lexington dental market. The "D.D.S." credential (Doctor of Dental Surgery) is the alternative dental degree designation to the D.M.D. (Doctor of Dental Medicine) — both represent equivalent dental education and licensure, with the credential varying by dental school nomenclature rather than clinical scope. The "Denison" surname is an English patronymic with roots in the mid-Atlantic and Appalachian communities, relatively uncommon in Kentucky's dental community.
Dr. Denison provides general dental care for adults and families in southwest Lexington and the surrounding Fayette County communities. Core services include comprehensive oral examinations, professional dental cleanings, dental radiographs, and restorative procedures — tooth-colored fillings and crown restorations — for patients in southwest Lexington's residential interior neighborhoods served by the Regency Road commercial and professional corridor. Solo named-practitioner practices like Dr. Denison's at Regency Road build patient relationships through provider continuity — returning patients see the same dentist at every appointment, developing the long-term clinical familiarity that characterized the traditional family dentist model and that many patients prefer over the rotation of employed dentists common in corporate group practices.
Regency Road's southwest Lexington position provides access from New Circle Road's southwest Lexington interchange, from the Nicholasville Road residential communities to the south, and from the Southland Drive commercial corridor to the east. The University of Kentucky campus is approximately three miles northeast via Nicholasville Road, and Lexington's full dental specialist network is accessible from this southwest Lexington address via the Man O' War Boulevard and New Circle Road ring system.
For southwest Lexington and Fayette County patients seeking solo named-practitioner general dental care on Regency Road, Dr. John F. Denison, DDS at 2036 provides personal professional dentistry in the established southwest Lexington residential and commercial corridor of ZIP 40503.

They performed a root canal. 3 years later the tooth started having issue so I called for a follow up treatment and was scheduled. The day before the appointment I was called and told the appointment was canceled and they were now refusing treatment due to a prior billing issue. Although this was an insurance issue I offered to set up a payment plan for the prior amount or pay what was due and I was told no. This is extremely unprofessional and a refusal of medial treatment being that the appointment was already made and billing was already discussed at that time. It’s a sad reality that discrimination still exists. For dental treatment I would recommend. For customer service and ethical treatment I would not. Give your money to companies that care about you and the service they provide not companies that are greedy and have no morals ❤️
My mom and I have been going to this dentist office for many years and it is hands down the BEST in Lexington. Julie has been cleaning my teeth and she is very sweet, very professional, and very knowledgeable. I highly recommend Dr. Denison’s dental office. 5 Stars!
This place is by far the best! I called on a Thursday and they had me in at 9:30am the next day! The staff is phenomenal, as is Dr. Denison. If you're looking for a dentist who loves his work, takes pride in his work and truly cares for his patients, John F. Denison, DDS is as good as it gets.
Thank you to Dr Dennison and his Wonderful staff. I am very grateful for the service I received this morning. They treated me like a family member that has been going there for years. Today was my first Dentist appointment that I walked out and was excited to return for my next visit. After today’s initial visit, I will be bringing my two children and of course my business back as long as they will have us. Again, hats off Dr Dennison. The best dental experience I have ever had... Great staff, John is amazing and really loves his job. My nurses really helped with my dental anxiety and made me feel super comfortable through the whole experience. There are not enough words to describe how thankfull i am for them and their hard work.
