Dr. Hunter's full-name designation — John S. Hunter, DDS — signals a professional identity built on the practitioner's own name rather than a practice brand. In the dense professional dental market of downtown DC, a named individual dentist offers patients the longitudinal relationship of seeing the same clinician at every visit, building the patient-history knowledge that supports better clinical decision-making over time. Suite 240 on the second floor is a standard professional office location in an 18th Street NW building that may house multiple professional service providers across its floors.
General dental care at Dr. Hunter's practice covers comprehensive oral examinations, professional cleanings, restorative treatments, diagnostic imaging, and management of the dental conditions that the downtown DC professional patient base presents. Dr. Hunter's patient base likely includes the attorneys, lobbyists, government contractors, and federal employees who work in the 18th Street corridor.
The 818 18th Street NW address is accessible from the Farragut North and Farragut West Metro stations and the surrounding downtown DC professional street network, with commercial parking in the surrounding blocks. For downtown DC professionals who want a named-dentist DDS practice with personal provider continuity on 18th Street NW near Farragut Square, Dr. John S. Hunter at Suite 240 provides that individual dental relationship in the professional heart of the capital.

I've never felt so comfortable at a Dr.'s office! From walking in the door to having my teeth cleaned, I feel like I had been going to see Dr. Hunter and his team for years!
I had a great experience with Dr. Hunter and his office! All of the staff I interacted with was knowledgeable, efficient and made me feel comfortable. Buddy, the office dog, is a great thing to have in a dental office. Really makes the experience a lot less stressful. The only criticism I have is that those hard plastic things they stick in your mouth to x ray you are painful. There's got to be a better way.
I've been seeing Dr. Hunter for almost two decades now. Today, he used a new technique for numbing just the tooth and not everything around it. I was able to have a filing replaced and be perfectly fine after I left. BEST. VISIT. IN. YEARS. Thanks Dr. H, Troy, and Liz for making my mortal fear of dentistry bearable when I visit!
They were able to squeeze me in for an emergency visit and take care of all of my dental needs. Very nice and helpful people!
Liz is just a pleasure to deal with. Today's visit went smooth...no pain :) The staff who worked on my teeth was very nice and considerate.
I've been a patient for about 2 years. This is a great, friendly office, and their early AM office hours are great for those who work downtown but can't miss work during working hours. For my most recent appointment, Dr. Hunter was able to squeeze me in and get my issue resolved right away!
