Johnson County Dental Care

Was looking for a Dentist and found Johnson County dental. Had my first visit today. The hygienist Gana hope i got her name spelled correctly was amazing!!!! Very therow before cleaning i was giving her my information and Dr. Todd came over and greeted me. I was very impressed with the whole visit. Oh and my teeth shine. Thank you!!! If you are looking for a Dentist I would recommend Johnson County dental.

I was referred to this dentist due to minor discomfort and food getting stuck between two teeth. During my visit, I was seen by Todd Thurlow. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from the start. There was no introduction, greeting, or explanation of what would be done—treatment began immediately without any communication. During the initial exam, I was told I needed two root canals on one side. Concerned, I sought a second opinion from a specialist who found that my teeth were completely healthy and did not require root canals. About a month later, the office contacted me regarding a filling to address the area where food was getting trapped. I agreed to proceed. Once again, there was no communication or bedside manners. After placing the filling, the bite was incorrect. Instead of correcting the filling itself, healthy teeth above it were ground down to compensate. I now need to see another dentist to repair this work. In addition, I was uncomfortable with how Dr. Thurlow spoke to the dental assistant during my visit. Overall, the lack of communication, questionable treatment recommendations, and poor bedside manners made this a very negative experience. My gut feeling after the first visit told me not to come back. Well, I won't be now! I even spoke with one of the front desk ladies about his bedside manners and no response. Treat people the way you would want to be treated!

I was nervous about not having my teeth cleaned for years and was experiencing a toothache so I decided to visit this office. I had the best time because Meg was so kind, positive, knowledgeable, and understanding! I’ve had bad painful experiences with fillings growing up but here I couldn’t feel a thing. Unfortunately I just moved out of state but I highly encourage everyone to visit this warm and welcoming place.

I’ve only been to Johnson County Dental Care twice so far, first for a cleaning. Meg provided thorough care, had a positive attitude, and made me feel incredibly comfortable! I absolutely second the first review saying to ask for Meg. My second procedure was a simple filling; however, I was still very anxious as numbing agents don’t always work well on me and I am accustomed to experiencing pain during fillings, and I typically experience extended sensitivity in my teeth after having work done. Dr. Todd listened to my concerns during the procedure and provided enough anesthetic to give me what was one of the first truly stress-free fillings I’ve ever experienced! Plus, I have experienced no tooth sensitivity whatsoever after the first 24 hours! I am very impressed by my first two experiences at this office and am relieved to have an office that can assist in my dental health with both kindness and skill.

It is apparent form the minute you walk through the door that this is a patient centered and well run dental office. They have state-of-the-art equipment with knowledgeable and friendly personnel. They keep you informed through each procedure and make sure you are always comfortable. While lying in the chair waiting for the anesthetic to numb I was offered a favorite movie to watch along with headphones and a blanket. In the past I have had to make several appointments to complete a crown and a cleaning. Today I received all of the above at the same appointment. Dr Todd Thurlow did an excellent job on my crown and Jasmine Garcia, the hygienist, gave me a thorough gentle cleaning. It was a great experience......I love this office!
