Smyleee Rating
Good
Joseph P. Yalch Jr., DDS practices at Suite 170, 1747 Pennsylvania Avenue Northwest in Washington DC's 20006 zip code — on Pennsylvania Avenue between 17th and 18th Streets NW, one block from the White House and the Eisenhower Executive Office Building. Pennsylvania Avenue NW at the 1747 block is as close to the White House as a dental practice address gets without being on the White House campus itself, placing Dr. Yalch's practice in perhaps the most historically and symbolically charged dental address in the United States.
The "Jr." designation indicates a second-generation practitioner who has taken over or continues a family dental practice established by a father with the same name. A junior-generation practitioner at a Pennsylvania Avenue NW address inherits both the clinical legacy of the founding generation and the patient relationships built over what may be decades of practice in this location. Long-tenure practices at prestigious DC addresses build patient bases that include senior government officials, White House staff, law firm partners, and the career DC professional community.
General dental care at Dr. Yalch's practice covers comprehensive oral examinations, professional cleanings, restorative treatments, diagnostic imaging, and management of dental conditions. Suite 170 at 1747 Pennsylvania Avenue is accessible from the Farragut West Metro station and the surrounding downtown DC professional complex, with the George Washington University campus and the State Department adding institutional patient demographics to the neighborhood.
For downtown DC patients and government-adjacent professionals who want a named-dentist general dental practice on Pennsylvania Avenue NW within sight of the White House, Dr. Joseph P. Yalch Jr. at Suite 170 provides personal provider care in one of the most address-distinctive dental locations in the nation's capital.

One of my filings has come out during my vacation in DC. I called the clinic and got an appointment on the same day and had my tooth taken care of :) I highly recommend this clinic to everyone.
Had a tooth break while here in DC for work, called them, they got me in right away, was super nice and friendly and was on my way in no time. Thank you all so much for getting me in so quickly
After a horrible experience at another dentist, Dr. Yalch was a calming and great experience. Was thorough and very affordable.
Dr. Yalch and staff are great. Always professional and kind. When I had an issue with a crown (put on by another dentist), he went above and beyond to make sure the issue was taken care of-- even phoning another dentist in another state. Would highly recommend for a fantastic dentist in DC!
Dr. Yalch has been my dentist for 20 years. He's the most capable Dentist I have ever had, and I have had many issues with teeth and gums in my life. His staff is always friendly and courteous, the office is extremely pleasant with gorgeous photos from around the globe to help soothe your visit. I would never go anywhere else.
Dr. Yalch is a great dentist. He and his office provides first rate care and professionalism. Highly recommended!
Dr. Yalch and Akielo (his hygenist/assistant) go above and beyond - Dr. Y is not only the best dentist but one of the best medical professionals I have ever encountered. Here's my story: Several minutes before close of business on a Thursday, I cracked my tooth while eating, leaving a nerve exposed and me in EXCRUCIATING pain. I had gone 2 years without a check-up, but I called my "current" dentist, who totally blew me off because the office was "closed for the day". At 4:59, I called Dr. Yalch (59 minutes AFTER his office closes); I explained the situation to Akielo over the phone and she told me to get in a cab, Dr. Yalch would stay after hours to see me. Not only did he see me - he stayed for nearly 3 hours to perform an emergency root canal on a very difficult tooth situation. The entire time, he made my pain and comfort level the top priority, taking his time to work slowly around an extremely sensitive and painful area. Did I mention that this wasn't just the end of his workday, but Dr. Yalch was leaving for a week vacation the next morning. And still, the Dr. stayed until past 7pm, taking every last measure to ensure my health and comfort - even after the long procedure, and far later than he ever expected to be at the office, Dr. Y even took the time to call the pharmacy and make sure my prescription was right before sending me home. I told Dr. Yalch this today, and I mean it - he has a patient for life. One other thing. I am not a doctor, but I am a member of another licensed profession governed by a ethical code of conduct. It's a bit different for lawyers, but I am generally familiar with basic medical ethics, and it was so inspiring to see a Doctor truly embody the meaning of that oath in his every day work. Thank you, Dr. Yalch.
