About Jungle Roots Children's Dentistry & Orthodontics

Jungle Roots Children's Dentistry & Orthodontics provides dental care on East Chandler Boulevard in the Ahwatukee Foothills Village area of Phoenix, Arizona. Clear aligners straighten teeth through a series of custom, removable trays, each worn for one to two weeks before moving to the next in the sequence. They suit mild to moderate crowding and spacing well, and are worn roughly twenty to twenty-two hours a day for treatment to stay on schedule.

Traditional braces use brackets and wires to gradually move teeth into alignment, handling complex bite corrections and significant crowding more predictably than removable alternatives. Treatment commonly runs one to three years, with a retainer worn afterward to hold the result.

Root canal treatment removes infected or inflamed tissue from inside a tooth, cleans and seals the space, and allows the natural tooth to be kept rather than extracted. Its reputation for being painful is largely outdated — carried out under local anaesthetic, it typically relieves pain rather than causing it.

Emergency dental care covers sudden problems that will not wait for a routine appointment — severe pain, a knocked-out or fractured tooth, swelling, or a lost filling that leaves a tooth exposed. Same-day or urgent appointments are the point of an emergency service, rather than the standard multi-week booking window.

A crown covers an entire damaged tooth — used when too much structure is missing for a filling to hold reliably, whether from a large fracture, extensive decay, or after root canal treatment. It restores both the shape and the biting strength of the tooth underneath.

Pediatric dental care is built around treating children specifically — dentists with additional training in child development and behaviour management, and offices designed to make a first visit unintimidating. Guidance generally points to a child's first dental visit around age one or within six months of the first tooth. My son had a huge fear of going to the dentist, full panic attacks. Everyone at the office has been so friendly and understanding about his anxiety, are really patient with him, and make him feel more comfortable about going to the dentist and orthodontist,. Both are amazing!

I can’t say enough positive things about how well this office treats kids with sensory sensitivities and anxiety. Autism Moms & Dads: this office will work with you and treat your children with patience and kindness. After going to Valley Pediatric Dentists for 7 years and being consistently disappointed with how clueless (not rude, just no understanding about sensory issues and how to react with patience, explain procedures and involve kids in the process as a way of giving a sense of control and easing fears), we switched. I called around to every dentists in Ahwatukee and Jungle Roots was the only one that said they specifically accommodate and specialize in sensory issues. I have been so impressed with the patience of the staff at Jungle Roots. My kids used to cry and constantly get up out of the dentists chair at their last office. I’m happy to report that the staff at Jungle Roots is so patient and so great at involving the kids in the process that one of my kids now goes to the dentist without any issue. The other still has some fears and is squirmy / scared, BUT the staff works with her and always finds ways to help calm her so they can take care of her effectively. On a sensory note: if you have kids who get overstimulated, you should know that this is an open concept office with a huge artificial tree in the middle of it. There’s a waiting area under the tree with video games and during busy times it is packed with kids and parents. It can be very loud and a lot to take in. If your kids are very sensitive, I’d suggest asking for an appointment at a time that’s less busy. But wouldn’t avoid Jungle Roots; the staff here does so many little things that enhance the experience for sensitive and anxious kids. Just tell the office that your kids are scared or need extra time. You will be accommodated!

Jungle roots has been the best decision my family made! My autistic son was fearful of the dentist but since switching to jungle roots can now have a dental cleaning without a breakdown. My 2 year toddler sat through a cleaning with Tyler with no issues! My oldest has a lot of ortho issues but the orthodontist is trying all avenues outside of braces! This place is amazing!

Jungle Roots is everything I could ask a pediatric dentist office to be. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The techs are comforting, patient, and very efficient. The office itself is super fun. Dr Culp is incredible. He’s always happy to see his patients, friendly and professional. I have seen Dr Culp work his magic on kids that were nervous and apprehensive. He was able to calm and reassure them so that they could complete their cleanings.

We've been patients at Jungle Roots for the past four years, which included braces. We've been there every 6-8 weeks between braces and cleanings. Every time we've been, the place is clean, everything well stocked, and most importantly, the staff is always kind in their interactions with my kids. Dr. Olson's work is equal parts science and artistry. It's been great to watch my children's smiles change into the beauties they are today. Thank you, Jungle Roots Team!

I took my almost 2 year old here for his first visit to the dentist and it was such a pleasurable experience. The staff from start to finish were kind. The doctor was kind and very helpful, and the visit went so smooth, office was perfect for kids, and they let him pick a tooth brush to take home, a coin to get a prize after his visit, and a sticker. Would highly recommend this office to anyone and plan to make this our new dentist!

We had a fantastic first experience at Jungle Roots! My daughter is 22 months old and hadn’t been to the dentist yet. They made her so comfortable and made it fun for her. We got great advice to provide the best oral health care at home and she was bummed when it was time to leave!
