About Kenneth K Lee DDS - Total Sleep Dentistry - Sedation Dentist

Kenneth K Lee DDS - Total Sleep Dentistry - Sedation Dentist is a dental practice on Wilbur Avenue in the Tarzana area of Los Angeles, California. Sedation dentistry uses inhaled, oral, or intravenous options to help patients relax through treatment, ranging from nitrous oxide for mild anxiety through to deeper sedation for longer or more involved procedures. It is commonly used for patients who have avoided the dentist for years due to fear.

Beyond any single treatment, most dental visits start with an examination — checking for decay, reviewing the gums, and looking at existing fillings or crowns — often alongside X-rays where there is a reason to look between or beneath teeth. That groundwork is what a dentist uses to explain any findings and set out next steps before you leave.

Routine attendance, roughly every six months for most people, is what actually keeps small problems small. A lot of decay and gum disease develops without any pain in its early stages, which is why regular checkups matter even when nothing seems to be wrong, rather than only booking an appointment once something hurts.

A first appointment at a new practice typically covers a full examination, a review of your dental and medical history, and a professional cleaning, with X-rays if you do not have recent ones. It is also a reasonable time to raise any longer-term concerns, cosmetic or otherwise, so they can be factored into a plan going forward.

Day-to-day oral health still comes down to the basics between visits — brushing twice daily with fluoride toothpaste, cleaning between the teeth, and limiting how often sugary food and drink appear through the day matters more than the total amount eaten at once. Regular professional care is what catches whatever those habits do not.

Digital X-rays are a routine part of dental care because they show what a visual exam alone cannot — decay forming between teeth, bone loss below the gumline, and how developing adult teeth are positioned in children. They use a low radiation dose and are taken on a schedule matched to individual risk rather than at every single visit. This page has the practice's contact details and full service list. We have been taking our special needs daughter there for almost 20 years. Dr Lee and his staff are amazing. He has done everything from fillings to root canals and crowns, bridges and implants. He has done all her work using general anesthesia, so she sleeps through the whole visit while we go get breakfast. He does outstanding work and has all the state of the art equipment. I was having problems with a root canal I had done somewhere else. The endodontist told me it was fine several times. Dr Lee showed me it was bad in 5 minutes and fixed the problem. He has the most amazing staff and they treat you like family.

My experience with total sleep dentistry has been great my 14-year-old daughter with autism has been getting her mouth treated with them for about four years now and everything has been great. They are awesome very professional very knowledgeable. The whole staff is just great. I would prefer them over any Dentist especially being the special needs that my daughter needs they know how to deal With her very well and I love them. We still have about a year worth of service left. I am still continuing to go until my daughter has completely treating all of her treatment. I will not be going anywhere else but total sleep.

I am such a nervous patient with anything medical. At Dr Lees office. You feel at home. They take the absolute best care of me. I went originally for a total sleep sedation root & canal- fillings and deep cleaning. It was so easy. I went in. Went to sleep and woke up with no memory. Just easy and simple. I just went again 3 months later and again staff is absolutely amazing. Liz upfront is very helpful and amazing. My dental tech today. I as the best. Sweet and worked so professionally

Appalling Experience at Dr. Kenneth Lee's Total Sleep Dentistry Office Zero Stars! I am writing to express my outrage and disappointment at the deplorable treatment we received at Dr. Kenneth Lee's sleep dentistry office, which claims to specialize in serving individuals with special needs. Our experience was nothing short of appalling. We arrived at the office with our special needs client, who had not eaten since 8:00 pm the previous night. Despite this, we were made to wait for an unacceptable two hours. As the client's anxiety grew, so did their agitation. Any professional, especially one claiming to specialize in special needs, should be equipped to handle such situations with compassion and understanding. Instead, the manager, Elisabeth, responded with breathtaking rudeness, condescension, and unprofessionalism. She treated our client like a wild animal, speaking to us in a tone that was both dismissive and threatening. The pièce de résistance was when she warned us that we would be liable for damages if our client broke the door. This was not only unacceptable but also a clear indication of her lack of understanding and empathy. As professionals working with individuals with special needs, we expect a certain level of expertise, patience, and kindness. Dr. Kenneth Lee's office failed to meet even the most basic of these expectations. The waiting area was not equipped to accommodate individuals with special needs, and the staff seemed woefully unprepared to handle the challenges that come with serving this population. Our client's experience was nothing short of traumatic. They were left hungry, anxious, and feeling utterly disregarded. We demand better. Individuals with special needs deserve to be treated with dignity, respect, and compassion. Unless Dr. Kenneth Lee's office undergoes a radical transformation in their approach to serving individuals with special needs, we would strongly advise against bringing your loved ones to this office. The risk of emotional trauma and mistreatment is simply too great. Shame on Dr. Kenneth Lee's office for their appalling treatment of our client. We will not soon forget this experience and will make sure to share our story with anyone who will listen.
