About Kevin A Rauter, DDS

Kevin A Rauter, DDS is a dental practice on East Palisades Boulevard in Fountain Hills, Arizona. A dental implant replaces a missing tooth at the root, not just the crown — a small titanium post is placed in the jaw bone and, once it has integrated over a period of months, a replacement tooth is attached to it. It is generally the most durable option for a single missing tooth or several.

A veneer is a thin custom shell bonded to the front of a tooth to change its shape, length, or colour, most often used to address chips, gaps, or discoloration that whitening alone cannot fix. Traditional veneers require a small amount of enamel to be removed, which makes the change permanent.

Root canal treatment removes infected or inflamed tissue from inside a tooth, cleans and seals the space, and allows the natural tooth to be kept rather than extracted. Its reputation for being painful is largely outdated — carried out under local anaesthetic, it typically relieves pain rather than causing it.

A crown covers an entire damaged tooth — used when too much structure is missing for a filling to hold reliably, whether from a large fracture, extensive decay, or after root canal treatment. It restores both the shape and the biting strength of the tooth underneath.

A bridge replaces one or more missing teeth by anchoring a false tooth to crowns placed on the teeth either side of the gap, creating a fixed replacement rather than a removable one. It is a longstanding alternative to an implant, particularly when the neighbouring teeth already need crowns.

Dentures replace some or all of the natural teeth in a jaw with a removable appliance, custom-fitted to the mouth. A full denture replaces every tooth; a partial fills gaps where some natural teeth remain. Because the jaw bone reshapes over time, dentures typically need adjusting or remaking periodically. Great staff, always pleasant and helpful! Dr Rauter is professional and fun. They haven't sold out to an outside management firm so they are easy to work with and accommodating.

Been seeing this guy since I was a kid. I think he’s a fairly average dentist, and I think we’ve built something of a rapport with him and me and my dad and my brother. But where I’m going to have to criticize him is with these veneers he gave me. They look ok —a little large, but OK. That’s not what bugs me. What bugs me is that from age 19 till the day I die I’m going to have to be left without my original front four teeth forever and be continuously poisoned by the Bis-GMA in the dental cement. So that sucks. I already have a genetic issue with how my body handles testosterone and now I have to deal with that too forever. Rauter, those were healthy teeth you shaved down to points. It was completely unnecessary and I think my orthodontist just recommended no-prep veneers. You know, something reversible? I was a dumb kid when I got them. But you should’ve know better. Was doing that to me worth 6 grand? What happened to informed consent? I’d pay you 20 Gs to take it back. Shame on you, seriously.

My wife and I have been a patient of Dr. Rauter for approximately 28 years. As a matter of fact I just visited the doctor/hygentist(Jenn) for a semi-annual check and,as always, was treated with respect, concern/empathy and professionalism by the entire staff. Thanks to ALL of your team!!!

I fully understand the five star rating here. The office is clean, organized, and thorough. Dr. Rauter and his staff are very personable and patient and I for once, wasn’t running out of a dentist office hoping to never go back. I would highly recommend this office! I already have an appt for cosmetic work….they do that too! 3/12 - Update. Just got two veneers done in-office and they look great! I’m so excited!! Very happy I found this office.

Dr Rauter and his staff provide excellent service and make sure you’re comfortable with each visit. They don’t try and push any unnecessary procedures on you, and are very straightforward about dental plans. I highly recommend them for anyone reluctant to go to the dentist, afraid of expensive dental bills, or if you just need your bi annual cleaning.
