About Kids Rock Pediatric Dentistry

Kids Rock Pediatric Dentistry operates on East Woodmen Road in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Pediatric dental care is built around treating children specifically — dentists with additional training in child development and behaviour management, and offices designed to make a first visit unintimidating. Guidance generally points to a child's first dental visit around age one or within six months of the first tooth.

Dental anxiety is common, and most practices are used to working with nervous patients — through clear explanations of what is about to happen, a slower pace where needed, and sedation options for patients who want them. Avoiding the dentist out of anxiety tends to make eventual treatment more involved, not less.

Children benefit from starting dental visits early, generally by their first birthday or within six months of the first tooth coming through, mainly so they become familiar with the setting before any treatment is actually needed. Establishing that routine early tends to make ongoing checkups far less stressful for both child and parent.

Payment and insurance arrangements vary by practice and by treatment, so it is worth asking directly what is covered and what options exist for anything that is not, rather than assuming either way. Getting that clarified before treatment starts avoids surprises once it is underway.

Beyond any single treatment, most dental visits start with an examination — checking for decay, reviewing the gums, and looking at existing fillings or crowns — often alongside X-rays where there is a reason to look between or beneath teeth. That groundwork is what a dentist uses to explain any findings and set out next steps before you leave.

Routine attendance, roughly every six months for most people, is what actually keeps small problems small. A lot of decay and gum disease develops without any pain in its early stages, which is why regular checkups matter even when nothing seems to be wrong, rather than only booking an appointment once something hurts. Everyone is so helpful and kind. Our insurance changed which is why we are newer to Kids Rock but we are so glad that it did because we were very happy with the service provided. My kiddo walked out happy and confident with his repaired tooth!

Best kids dental office ever! One of my kiddos has an SLS sensitivity and one has a fluoride sensitivity, the office does an amazing job to make sure both kids are accommodated and taken great care of. The atmosphere of the entire office space makes kids feel like the whole thing is just a fun experience rather than actually being at the dentist. Every single employee has been so patient with my energetic kiddos, and so patient with my child who is on the spectrum. Absolutely recommend this office!

This is by far the best best best kids dentist in all of Colorado Springs!! Absolutely everything from walking through the door, there were not one, but two individuals ready to check us in, to the amazing assistants Kaylane and Riley, to doctor Nick, and even the young lady checking us out and getting scheduled for the next cleaning were absolutely respectful, kind, knowledgeable, professional in every category. I took my oldest two kids to Academy kids Vision, dental, and orthodontics for the last 11 years And I’m kicking myself that I didn’t find Kids rock sooner. I’m used to the receptionist being cold at Academy kids, the doctors trying to gaslight the kids, disorganization all the way around and in general, not on their a game. And don’t get me wrong academy Kids had a great orthodontist for many years who retired and her replacement is pretty good as well. Two kids went all the way through their braces and had them removed and retainers obtained, and the vision department is top-notch. There is no optometrist better than the one at academy kids, but their dental department could definitely take pointers from Kids rock!! Even the lobby screamed warm and happiness for the kids and this dentist was very very knowledgeable and wasn’t trying to push unnecessary treatments!!! This was the very first appointment for my youngest, and is definitely setting her up for success for many many positive years of good relationships with her dentist!!!! Thank you for being the standard!!!!

I absolutely loved my child’s previous dentist and was worried about finding a suitable replacement but this office exceeded my expectations! From the very first interaction making the appointment, the staff has been warm, friendly, and incredibly patient. Like most kids, mine isn’t a big fan of the dentist, but the team did such a great job making them feel comfortable and at ease. The office itself is very kid-friendly, with TVs, games, and toys in the waiting room, and we didn’t experience any delays or long wait times. I truly feel like my child is in great hands here. Definitely recommend!
