King's College Hospital - Dubai Hills

Extremely disappointing experience with Dr. Gowri Ramanathan and King’s College Hospital. The consultation felt rushed. After waiting around 45 minutes, we received barely 10 minutes of the doctor’s time. I felt pressured into having an ultrasound despite explaining that I had undergone one only a week earlier and had primarily come for a consultation. After the scan, the doctor remained standing near the door while we were still trying to ask questions, making us feel hurried out. A doctor’s empathy, patience and willingness to give patients adequate time are imperative to a positive patient experience-qualifications alone are not enough. However, the most unacceptable part has been the extraordinary incompetence surrounding my medical records. For FIVE DAYS, I have repeatedly requested the ultrasound images done on September 2nd,2026. Instead, I have received multiple emails containing completely unrelated historical records including chest X-ray, carotid scans from 2025 and 2023. Despite several calls and emails clearly explaining exactly what I need, I STILL have not received my ultrasound images. These are required for an appointment with another doctor and a patient should not have to spend days chasing a hospital for their own records, only to be sent the wrong documents repeatedly. The lack of attention, accountability and basic organization is astonishing. Overall, this has been a horrendous experience. UPDATE – 17 SEPTEMBER,2026 After nearly TWO WEEKS of chasing, I finally received the correct ultrasound images but only after escalating the matter directly to Dr Ramanathan and having an extremely unpleasant telephone argument with her nurse. Crucially, the final email included the hospital’s internal correspondence, which exposed where the delay occurred. On 3 September, Medical Records requested permission from Dr Ramanathan’s Fetal Medicine department to release my records, and the nurse authorised it. However, the correct ultrasound images were evidently not provided to Medical Records which explains why they kept sending me unrelated medical documents. On 9 September, a Medical Records officer wrote directly to the nurse, explicitly clarifying that I was requesting the OB scan performed in their department on 2 September,2026. The nurse did not respond. The next response visible in the email chain was on 17 September- EIGHT DAYS LATER - after my repeated calls and escalation, when she finally provided the correct images and instructed Medical Records to send them to me. I received them approximately FIVE MINUTES after the heated call. This chronology speaks for itself. Once Medical Records actually received the correct images, they sent them almost immediately. The prolonged delay clearly originated within the Fetal Medicine department. The nurse’s conduct during the call was appalling, rude, condescending, defensive and openly hostile. She claimed that Dr Ramanathan was fully aware of the situation and raised her voice when I asked what the doctor was doing about it. If the doctor was indeed fully aware, why was nothing effective done for nearly two weeks? What makes this even more disturbing is the dramatic contrast in behaviour. At my first appointment, both nurses were extremely pleasant and accommodating while further scans and follow-ups were being discussed. Once it became clear that I would not return and only wanted my records, that warmth gave way to obnoxiousness and hostility making their initial empathy & friendliness feel entirely performative. This was not an innocent mix-up. A specific written request from Medical Records was ignored for eight days, while a distressed patient was forced to make repeated calls and send multiple emails for her own ultrasound images. Whether King’s calls this withholding, obstruction or gross incompetence, it is completely unacceptable. I have retained the entire internal email trail and my call records. This department’s handling of my medical information and the nurse’s conduct requires a formal investigation.

I recently underwent cholecystectomy at King's College Hospital Dubai Hills and can't thank the team enough. Dr Rehan performed an outstanding surgery, taking time to clearly explain everything and putting me completely at ease with his expertise and humility. Nurse Jilsy went above and beyond with bookings, insurance approvals, and answering my questions. Dr Kaiser Raja, my primary physician, gave the sound advice that led me to Dr Rehan in the first place. Thanks also to Dr Mark, Nurse Monica, Nurse Paris, Renalyn, and everyone from admission to the OT, recovery, Day Care Unit, and the General Private Room — every staff member was friendly, attentive, and caring. It truly felt like being cared for at home. Thank you, King's College Hospital Dubai.

I was admitted to A&E in the evening and then discharged overnight having had painkillers administered to me. I was not assisted with transport home and to make matters worse, my electronics that I’d left behind were “acquired” by one of King’s staff members (knowledge provided courtesy of the “Find-my” app). I have called numerous times and emailed to progress my complaint but I have not received any assistance or support. Not a good experience at all.

We also greatly appreciate the housekeeping team for maintaining a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment throughout our stay. Their hard work and dedication did not go unnoticed and truly enhanced our overall experience. Every member of the team went above and beyond to make this special journey truly memorable. We are incredibly thankful for the exceptional care we received and highly recommend Kings Hospital to anyone seeking outstanding maternity services.
