About Kissing Camels Family Dentistry
Kissing Camels Family Dentistry provides dental care on Centennial Boulevard in the West Colorado Springs area of Colorado Springs, Colorado. A family dental practice sees a range of ages under one roof, which for most households means fewer separate appointments across different offices. It typically covers routine checkups and restorative treatment for both children and adults, with referrals out for anything requiring specialist training.
Affordable care means the practice sets out to make treatment accessible on a self-pay basis or through a payment arrangement, rather than assuming every patient arrives with comprehensive insurance. It is worth asking directly what options exist before assuming a needed treatment is out of reach.
Payment and insurance arrangements vary by practice and by treatment, so it is worth asking directly what is covered and what options exist for anything that is not, rather than assuming either way. Getting that clarified before treatment starts avoids surprises once it is underway.
Beyond any single treatment, most dental visits start with an examination — checking for decay, reviewing the gums, and looking at existing fillings or crowns — often alongside X-rays where there is a reason to look between or beneath teeth. That groundwork is what a dentist uses to explain any findings and set out next steps before you leave.
Routine attendance, roughly every six months for most people, is what actually keeps small problems small. A lot of decay and gum disease develops without any pain in its early stages, which is why regular checkups matter even when nothing seems to be wrong, rather than only booking an appointment once something hurts.
A first appointment at a new practice typically covers a full examination, a review of your dental and medical history, and a professional cleaning, with X-rays if you do not have recent ones. It is also a reasonable time to raise any longer-term concerns, cosmetic or otherwise, so they can be factored into a plan going forward. They got me in quickly and the staff was very friendly.
Thank you Rachel for the great cleaning!
Very friendly. The atmosphere of the office was excellent, fun and easy going. You can tell they all enjoy what they do. Very kind and understanding. First visit I was impressed with the care I received
As a healthcare provider myself, I have high standards when it comes to patient care — and Dr. Avery exceeded every one of them. I came in with an urgent molar situation and his team got me in quickly, made me feel at ease, and handled everything with genuine professionalism. What stood out most was the transparency. Dr. Avery walked me through exactly what was happening and why — the kind of clear, honest communication I wish every patient experienced. The office is thoughtfully designed and the whole team has a warmth that’s hard to find. I walked out impressed, pain-free, and already recommending him to everyone I know. Exceptional care from an exceptional team.
Such nice, friendly staff!
I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Boals and his team at Kissing Camels. He absolutely changed my life. Before coming here, I had become self-conscious about my smile in my older age and awareness. My smile was gummy, a little crooked, and my front teeth had become filed down and chipped. I had learned to smile a certain way for many years. Then, I noticed I had started covering my mouth when I laughed. This wasn't okay with me, since I am a free spirited joyful person. Something had to be done. Enter Dr. Boals and his incredible veneer-powers. They were so amazing through every step. The whole team was patient, kind, gentle, and genuinely invested in making me feel comfortable every step of the way. At one point after a procedure, I got faint because I hadn’t eaten, and Dr. Boals ran around trying to find me a snack. He returned with a banana and then wouldn't leave until he knew I was ok! That level of compassion says everything about the kind of dentist (and person) he is. Now people compliment my smile everywhere I go. Every single time, I think of Dr. Boals and am filled with gratitude. It's been a year now, but I never stop feeling amazed and grateful at this life-changing thing. Best care. Best outcome. Now, I am free to smile and laugh again with abandon. That's truly the best part.
I originally had a good impression of this office, but my later scheduling experience made me uncomfortable. Even though I had an appointment scheduled for Wednesday, June 3, 2026 at 11:00 AM, I was offered earlier Friday appointments on May 22 and May 29. I had already explained that Friday did not work for me because I wanted to see the dentist/doctor. Because of this repeated scheduling issue, I decided to cancel and go with another dental office. I hope the office can improve communication and respect patient scheduling preferences.
I love this place! Everyone is so nice, and they make you feel at home. The dentists and hygienists are great, and very knowledgeable. They even provide blankets if you’re cold! I wouldn’t go anywhere else.
My wife and I were able to get appointments on short notice. My wife's appt was a new patient exam and cleaning. Mine was a full comprehensive exam and treatment discussion. My wife thought her hygenist and dentist were very friendly, gentle and communicated clearly. I had major work I had been avoiding. The staff and dentist were very understanding and reassuring. Once the results were known we had a clear and thorough discussion about their suggested treatment plan. My anxiety/fear for the worst was not realized and I am now confident that my oral health can be restored for much less than I anticipated. I haven't felt this comfortable talking about dental treatment for a long time. Thank you KC staff.
Excellent Personnel!! The Hygienist Lisa is Very explanative, and backs up every thing she says with facts and or photos. she has gentle but professional touch. She has a caring, personable attitude. The Dentist came in and confirmed what Lisa found and the dentist discussed a plan to correct the problems i had. The front desk personnel greet you warmly but professionally. and on the way out they make sure everything is correct in regards to your account and they make sure any appointments are scheduled on the agreed dates and times. Excellent Team!!!
