About L.A. Dental Braces

Based on Wilshire Boulevard in the Westlake area of Los Angeles, California, L.A. Dental Braces is a dental practice serving the area. Traditional braces use brackets and wires to gradually move teeth into alignment, handling complex bite corrections and significant crowding more predictably than removable alternatives. Treatment commonly runs one to three years, with a retainer worn afterward to hold the result.

Continuity matters in dental care — seeing the same practice over time means your history, X-rays, and any patterns in your oral health are already on file, rather than starting from scratch at each visit. That familiarity is part of what a regular dental home offers beyond any single appointment.

Dental anxiety is common, and most practices are used to working with nervous patients — through clear explanations of what is about to happen, a slower pace where needed, and sedation options for patients who want them. Avoiding the dentist out of anxiety tends to make eventual treatment more involved, not less.

Children benefit from starting dental visits early, generally by their first birthday or within six months of the first tooth coming through, mainly so they become familiar with the setting before any treatment is actually needed. Establishing that routine early tends to make ongoing checkups far less stressful for both child and parent.

Payment and insurance arrangements vary by practice and by treatment, so it is worth asking directly what is covered and what options exist for anything that is not, rather than assuming either way. Getting that clarified before treatment starts avoids surprises once it is underway.

Beyond any single treatment, most dental visits start with an examination — checking for decay, reviewing the gums, and looking at existing fillings or crowns — often alongside X-rays where there is a reason to look between or beneath teeth. That groundwork is what a dentist uses to explain any findings and set out next steps before you leave. This page has the practice's contact details and full service list. Do braces hurt?
Fitting them does not hurt, but teeth are usually tender for a few days afterward and again after each adjustment. It settles as the teeth adapt, and over-the-counter pain relief covers it for most people.
Is it normal for teeth to be sensitive to cold?
Mild, brief sensitivity is common and often relates to exposed root surfaces or worn enamel. Sensitivity that lingers after the cold is removed is more significant and worth having examined, as it can indicate the nerve is involved.

The L.A. Dental Braces office was very clean. The staff were very professional & kind. The person who took the x-rays of my teeth was VERY helpful. She explained the whole process in detail and was very kind as I had shared that it was my first dental exam in years. I recommend this office to everyone.

I’ve been going to LA Dental Braces since December, and I absolutely love my experience so far. Vanessa is so sweet, helpful, and always makes sure everything is taken care of. Sometimes I mess up my brackets, and they are very understanding and replace them with no problem. Everyone is kind and professional. I highly recommend them😊😊😊😊

La Dental is a great place! I had braces for years back home in Florida, and when I moved to California, I needed a dentist. I found La Dental, and they’ve been amazing. They told me my gap should be closed in less than a year. I’m very happy with my experience so far!

This is the worst clinic I could have chosen for my orthodontic treatment. Every single appointment I had there was a disappointment; I never felt comfortable with their approach. Each time I went in to have my elastics changed, the doctor would simply check my teeth and leave; neither he nor the person changing the elastics ever explained the progress of my treatment. Furthermore, whenever I asked them a question about my treatment, they would respond angrily—as if I weren't actually paying them—and they did everything in a huge rush, as if they were constantly pressed for time. During one appointment, they placed an elastic band that ran from my canine to my molar and instructed me to wear it every day. I followed the instructions until one day, while brushing my teeth, I felt something give way on my canine; it felt like the root had loosened. I decided to find a new dentist, but this time I made sure to find a reputable clinic and a competent doctor. That doctor pointed out many things that had been done incorrectly. At that moment, I felt nothing but anger and the sense that I had wasted my money. The truth is, all they care about is money; it's the only thing they truly pay attention to: charging you for every little thing. For that reason, I absolutely do not recommend this clinic. Please—I beg you—find a good doctor.

I have fixed retainers on the back of my teeth from a previous orthodontist who is no longer in my area. I had a hard time finding an orthodontist to replace my top retainer (after over 12 years, it came off). I came across L.A. Dental Braces. They were super accommodating to fit me in on a Saturday. The staff is very friendly and easy to work with. They get you in and out quickly. And they are very affordably priced. Highly recommend.

Mandy was incredibly sweet and welcoming. She introduced herself right away, shared some kind and encouraging words that truly made my day, and made sure I was completely taken care of from start to finish. She helped me every step of the way and made the whole experience feel easy and comfortable. The entire staff is always very helpful and welcoming. I’ve been coming here for over two years now, and every single visit has been a positive experience. It truly feels like a warm, supportive environment each time. Highly recommend!
