About L-Town Dental
L-Town Dental provides dental care on Cimarron Drive in Lafayette, Colorado. Implants are considered by many dentists the most durable way to replace a missing tooth, since the titanium post fuses with the jaw bone over several months and then supports a crown that functions much like a natural tooth. Enough healthy bone is the main prerequisite, and a graft can build that up first if needed.
Clear aligners straighten teeth through a series of custom, removable trays, each worn for one to two weeks before moving to the next in the sequence. They suit mild to moderate crowding and spacing well, and are worn roughly twenty to twenty-two hours a day for treatment to stay on schedule.
Cosmetic treatment is generally the least invasive branch of dentistry, built around changing how teeth look rather than fixing something broken. Whitening and bonding sit at the lighter end; veneers and reshaping involve more planning. Most cosmetic dental insurance excludes this kind of work, since it is elective rather than medically necessary.
A crown covers an entire damaged tooth — used when too much structure is missing for a filling to hold reliably, whether from a large fracture, extensive decay, or after root canal treatment. It restores both the shape and the biting strength of the tooth underneath.
A bridge replaces one or more missing teeth by anchoring a false tooth to crowns placed on the teeth either side of the gap, creating a fixed replacement rather than a removable one. It is a longstanding alternative to an implant, particularly when the neighbouring teeth already need crowns.
Professional teeth whitening uses a peroxide-based gel, applied under supervision at a strength stronger than anything sold over the counter, to lift years of staining from coffee, tea, red wine, and tobacco. It works on natural enamel only — existing crowns, veneers, and fillings keep whatever shade they were made in. If I could give zero stars, I would. Unfortunately, a friend recommended L Town Dental and was sorry, afterward because of both of our treatments. Not only was one (of several) fillings not finished (the back of the tooth was not done, per a competent dentist), there is an unsightly “covering” on one of my teeth, that’s truly uncomfortable. While Dr. Jaime White and her assistant had their tools poking and prodding in my mouth, Dr. White exclaimed, “Her teeth are VERY crooked!” How unprofessional can you get, I really don’t know. To speak ABOUT me, as if I could not hear. Never in my 65 years of going to dentists, have I been wrongly treated that way, not to mention that my one filling was not finished, leaving me to possible risk of infection. The friend who recommended her also had issues and had to go back for a job not completed. I wonder how many others are subject to this unprofessional and reckless treatment. NOT COOL OR OKAY. I have sent a letter to the Colorado Dental Board. This is a serious issue for two reasons: Dr. White’s disrespectful comment and not completing a filling, that poses a risk of infection.
I was a patient with Dr. Laycock for about 2 years before relocating cross-country. This office came at a coworker's recommendation after a really upsetting and unprofessional experience with another Boulder County dentist practice. Dr. Laycock's staff was very friendly and professional. His style (in my case) leaned more conservative of not performing work unless absolutely necessary, which I appreciated. Dr. Laycock and his team have performed a few hours of dental work for me over the course of the next 2 years and I'm sad we had to move dentists! My new dentist in Tennessee could tell the work done by Dr. Laycock was done very well and commented on how good it looked.
Great dentists. Very kind and compassionate
They are the most trust worthy, excellent, honest and real Dental team I’ve had in my 60 plus years
I am writing this review 10 months late. But better late than never. On or about June 23rd, 2025, I had a crown become loose. Darn. I was in the middle of a minor construction project and could not lose time. Dr. White examined me and caused her staff to lay out a plan of action. First, she noted I needed a root canal. But my endodontist was on vacation. Darn! No problem. She located another one in Thornton. But wait, does she take my insurance? She checked. Yes. Then, her plan was to have the root canal done the next day at noon. Then drive to her office and have the tooth prepared for a crown at 2:00 pm! So, in the course of 27 hours, the office of Dr. White prepared a plan of action. Organized the plan of action. And had me back out of her office in 27 hours, so that I could return to the minor construction project that had a short deadline. Dr. White and her staff paid attention to my concerns about my deadline when they did not have to. I am grateful, even 10 months later.
I switched to LTown when my dentist retired based on a recommendation from a friend. I scheduled an initial checkup and routine cleaning. Lacey tools some X-rays and did a standard mouth check but provided no cleaning. At first she said I could do the regular cleaning or a longer cleaning but after consulting with someone in the back said I would need to come back for 2 additional sessions because the dentist wanted to be proactive and address possibly gingivitis even though I have never experienced the symptoms (bleeding when flossing or brushing or inflamed gums). To complicating things I drove an hour to get essentially no dental services at all.
During my appointment the hygienist started doing my polish immediately. When I asked why polish first this time, she stated it was better to polish first, it made it easier for the hygienist to scrape off the plaque and tartar and it was a "scheduling" issue. However, I was told previously, at this office, polishing after evened out any scratches the scraping left which can cause a cavity. Also, there wasn't a dentist in the office to do the final check on my teeth. Trying not to be negative, I usually have good experiences, but this one was very disappointing.
