Dr. Shahi is fantastic and her staff is superb. They were like clockwork and Stephanie was truly helpful. I had three teeth removed yesterday with significant work on my gums. They were quick, efficient and the procedure was painless. This morning when I woke up, there was no pain. I did not use and will not need pain medication. In summary, I cannot recommend Dr. Shahi and her crew more highly. My only criticism is that I am an ex-Marine and I was going to use this procedure to demonstrate how tough I am and how I would withstand pain, without complaining. Simply put, Dr. Young is an incredible periodontist; she is a true gem. At my annual cleaning, my dentist noticed mild gum recession, likely exacerbated by braces and a tissue pull and recommended I find a periodontist. After doing some research, I found LA Perio and was immediately impressed by Dr. Young’s profile; her accolades preceded her. And, as a fellow USC Trojan, I knew I was in great hands. From my initial consult, Dr. Young calmed any qualms I had about the gum graft procedure. She took ample time to answer all of my questions, and even provided me tips to reduce recession between the consult and corrective surgery. On the day of the surgery, Dr. Young was attentive from start to finish. She spent time ensuring the area was completely numb and continuously checked in to ensure I was comfortable during the procedure (even asking if I wanted to take a break). A gum graft procedure is inherently not a fun experience by any means, but Dr. Young ensured as I was as comfortable as possible! She even called me on her day off, following the procedure, to check on my recovery and insisted I reach out at any time if I had questions or discomfort, which meant nothing less than the world to me!! My recovery was seamless and the graft looks incredible. I just had a final appointment with Dr. Young this morning, where she thoughtfully removed my sutures and walked me through what to expect over the next 1-3 months. And, she even cleaned my permanent retainer, substantiating her level of care. I could not be happier with the outcome of my graft. And, I highly recommend Dr. Young and the entire team at LA Perio! They are true professionals who will make you feel actually cared for from consult to follow up appointments. I will genuinely miss seeing the LA Perio team, and I’m afraid I will not see them again given how incredible Dr. Young’s work looks!!!

Words can’t express how grateful I am to Dr. Shahi and her incredible team. Two years ago, I walked into her office after losing a tooth (thanks to an unfortunate bagel!) and dealing with the aftermath of previous dental work that had left me not only missing a tooth, but also much of the surrounding gum tissue and wall. I felt overwhelmed and wasn’t sure if my smile could ever be restored. From the very first appointment, Dr. Shahi and her team treated me like family. Every step of the process was handled with so much kindness, patience, and attention to detail that I always knew I was in the best hands. The entire journey took nearly two years and included several surgeries, but somehow it never felt that long. I actually looked forward to every appointment because everyone in the office made me feel so welcome—they’ve truly become friends. Dr. Shahi performed each surgery with exceptional skill and compassion, making every procedure as comfortable and painless as possible. She always took the time to check in on me, answer my questions, and make sure I was doing well. The care I received went far beyond the dental work itself. I’m honestly a little sad that this journey has come to an end, but I’m incredibly thankful for everything Dr. Shahi and her team have done for me. They didn’t just restore my smile—they gave me my confidence back. I couldn’t recommend them more highly.

A special thank you to Maya, my dental hygienist. She is absolutely amazing! Maya is extremely knowledgeable, highly skilled, and incredibly thorough. She takes the time to explain everything, pays close attention to every detail, and always makes sure I'm comfortable throughout my visit. Her professionalism and expertise are truly outstanding. I actually drive from the other side of town just to see Maya because the quality of care she provides is well worth the trip.
