Kid-focused dentistry in Denver — Denver
Smyleee Rating
Very Good
Lakeside Special Needs and Pediatric Dentistry runs a pediatric dental practice where the entire experience is built around children's comfort in the Denver area of Denver. The clinic is built around the day-to-day work — not boutique marketing — and serves kids from infancy through the teen years and the parents bringing them in. The shape of the practice fits patients who want a clear conversation about what's actually needed, with treatment staged around real priorities rather than a one-shot proposal on the first visit. If you're scoping a Denver dental option, this is a sensible practice to put on a short list of candidates and book a first visit with.
Services cover children's preventive cleanings, fluoride treatment, dental sealants on permanent molars, tooth-colored fillings on baby and adult teeth, child-friendly emergency visits for trauma or pain, and gentle behavioural guidance for nervous patients. The practice also handles behavioural guidance for nervous young patients for parents whose child needs a calmer setting than a general-dentist office can provide. Treatment is staged around what children's teeth actually need at each developmental window rather than being borrowed from adult-dentistry workflows.
If your child's first dental visit is coming up and you want a practice set up specifically for kids rather than a general office, this is a sensible first stop.
Cost framing for pediatric visits sits in the typical Denver pediatric-dentistry range, with most major insurance plans and many state programs accepted. Parents searching for kid-friendly dental clinic in Denver, dentist for toddlers and infants in Denver, or affordable pediatric dentist in Denver, CO commonly compare a couple of pediatric practices before settling on one, and a practice of this shape belongs on that shortlist. It suits families wanting one pediatric dental home through their child's growing years, and works particularly well when consistency matters more than a corporate-chain feel. The Denver location works for patients already running errands in this part of Denver, and parking and transit access tend to be straightforward for the surrounding blocks.
Lakeside Special Needs and Pediatric Dentistry on West 44th Avenue in Denver runs a pediatric dental practice covering cleanings, sealants, fillings, and child-friendly emergency visits for Denver families.

We love it here! Very accommodating and patient. Also work efficiently and fast. I have more than one child and love that they try to book together when possible to make it easier for us. Communication is clear and so far everything has gone very smoothly. I am very appreciative that they offer anesthesia for getting more extensive work done. Staff is very patient with all kids in general and even those that require a little more. We plan on keeping our children’s dental care here.
Shaky at first with the scheduling as we were scheduled on a pediatric day for my senior family member waisting a drive from Greeley to Denver. Incredibly frustrating. We rescheduled and glad we did. The care team that actually worked with my family member with Dementia was great. They understood the concerns and addressed everything under one day use of sedation which would have required three sedative appointments otherwise using an oral surgeon. Very good at what they do and there is a need for this service in more locations.
I love this place ❤️. My daughter doesn't like going to the dentist, like most kids. But this is the second time we have an appointment here and we haven't had any issues. The nurse and also the Front desk are very friendly. And the doctors are awesome. I live in Strasburg and while its a bit of a drive, it is definitely worth the drive. I recommend this location to anyone who has a small child who doesn't like the dentist, because this place will change their mind.
Was a great experience my daughter has level 3 autism non verbal with some ASL & they were outstanding phenomenal work this is and now going forward my daughters new dentist office 😊 p.s. my apologies on delay on review our appt. Was this Tuesday 😊♥️💙
We waited months for our appointment only to be left in a room and ignored for over 3 hours. No updates. I understand delays happen but 3+ hours after our scheduled appointment time is unacceptable. Especially when the child is severely autistic and has been fasting since the evening before. Then when a relative called the front to ask about the delay because we were being ignored, the office staff thought it was appropriate to talk trash about us- apparently forgetting I was in their consult room and could hear everything they said. They treated my daughter like she did not matter. All their consideration was for other patients. When my son had an appointment there a couple weeks prior, they were delayed as well which leads me to believe they intentionally overbook and expect the patients to just deal with it. Which also makes me wonder why they took her vitals at 8:30 when our appointment was supposed to start then ignored us for 3+hours. Were they billing those hours as treatment?? Definitely felt sus to me. They also charged me for anti nausea for my daughter which she never received and have made no attempt to refund it. After hours of waiting the dentist made the excuse of other patients needing more care than expected, then disappeared again. When my son had his appointment and needed more care than expected they told us we would have to come back for the rest of the work. They only worked on him for one hour. Why did these patients get preferential treatment??? I know it’s not because they came from far away because I had to wake up at 4 am and drive SIX HOURS ROUND TRIP and they gave us absolutely no consideration. They were acutely aware. Now I have to wait months for an appointment with a different dentist. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE IF YOU ARE AUTISTIC OR HAVE AUTISTIC CHILDREN. They do not understand us.
