About Laredo Covenant Dental, P.A.

Laredo Covenant Dental, P.A. is a dental practice on McPherson Road, offering general dentistry alongside more specific care most patients eventually need. The practice sits further out along McPherson Road toward the edge of the city, an area that draws families looking for one office that can see both parents and children rather than splitting care between a family dentist and a separate pediatric or orthodontic specialist. Catching problems early, before they turn into bigger and more expensive restorative work, tends to matter more when a family is trying to manage several sets of dental needs at once.

The practice combines routine exams and cleanings with pediatric dentistry, periodontal therapy, and endodontics for infected or damaged teeth. Restorative options include crowns, bridgework, root canal treatment, and dental implants, and cosmetic care covers porcelain veneers. Its most distinctive offering is orthodontics provided alongside general and pediatric dentistry, meaning a child's braces consultation and a parent's crown or implant work can both be scheduled at the same office rather than across separate practices. Oral surgery and emergency appointments are also handled in-house.

If you're trying to coordinate a child's orthodontic care with a parent's restorative work across two different offices, having both under one roof removes a scheduling headache.

What any of this costs depends on the treatment — a cleaning, a crown, and orthodontic treatment sit at completely different price points, so a written estimate after an exam or orthodontic consultation is the only reliable way to know what a family will owe before agreeing to anything beyond a cleaning. Insurance usually covers preventive visits more fully than orthodontics or implants, both of which commonly carry separate plan limits worth confirming ahead of time. For families along this stretch of McPherson Road, having pediatric, orthodontic, and restorative care at one address cuts down on how many offices a household needs to track.

Laredo Covenant Dental, P.A. on McPherson Road offers general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, orthodontics, and dental implants for families across Laredo, along with periodontal therapy, endodontics, crowns and bridgework, and porcelain veneers under one roof.

What does an endodontist treat?
Endodontists specialise in the tissue inside the tooth — the nerve and pulp — most commonly through root canal treatment, along with retreatment of a previous root canal and diagnosing the source of tooth pain.
When would I be referred to an endodontist instead of treated by my regular dentist?
Many general dentists perform straightforward root canals themselves. A referral is more likely for a tooth with complex root anatomy, a previous root canal that has failed, or persistent pain that is difficult to diagnose.
How long do crowns and bridges last?
Both commonly last a decade or more with good care. The main risks to longevity are decay at the margins and gum disease affecting the teeth supporting them, which is why regular checkups matter as much as the restoration itself.

This was our first visit to the clinic, as suggested by a friend. My family and I had an amazing time! All the staff, particularly Melissa and Desiree, who attended to us, were incredibly friendly, gentle, and provided clear explanations. And Dr. Chen is super cool. He is superb! One of the best dentist in Laredo! This clinic has become my favorite, and I’ll definitely return for our next follow-ups.

The only reason why you are getting two stars is because of the staff however the dentist is very rude obnoxious and does not know what customer service definitely is. From the moment I walked in he wanted to argue now a week later I choose not to have any other work done due to the fact that he does not respect people I asked a simple question and he starts getting upset going back and forth in that case he could have became a lawyer if he like to argue. I feel bad for the staff because he thinks just because he’s a dentist he gets to treat people however he wants absolutely not! Worst dentist I’ve ever come across! Not only that but he wants to lecture you about health when his degree is a dentist not an MD he has no knowledge when it comes to bariatric patients. Maybe he should get a degree as an MD so he can understand the actual health issues and not argue with patients back and forth. And by the way when I said do I still have to take the medication obviously you don’t drink mouth rinse it’s obvious there’s a difference between a mouth rinse and a medication obviously you take a medication and obviously you spit a mouth rinse so maybe next time when you have an attitude issue maybe don’t come to work? Then get upset when I call you out because you are not gonna speak to me like you do everyone else. But other than that the staff is amazing the dentist on the other hang is def not.

Dr. Chun and his team is amazing! I have been his patient for years and have always had the best experience. He truly cares about his patients and is a professional. He is a value to Laredo community where people usually go to other cities to be seen by a professional doctors.
