About Laurelwood Dental

Based on Northeast Wasco Street in the Sullivan's Gulch area of Portland, Oregon, Laurelwood Dental is a dental practice serving the area. A dental implant replaces a missing tooth at the root, not just the crown — a small titanium post is placed in the jaw bone and, once it has integrated over a period of months, a replacement tooth is attached to it. It is generally the most durable option for a single missing tooth or several.

Cosmetic treatment is generally the least invasive branch of dentistry, built around changing how teeth look rather than fixing something broken. Whitening and bonding sit at the lighter end; veneers and reshaping involve more planning. Most cosmetic dental insurance excludes this kind of work, since it is elective rather than medically necessary.

A crown covers an entire damaged tooth — used when too much structure is missing for a filling to hold reliably, whether from a large fracture, extensive decay, or after root canal treatment. It restores both the shape and the biting strength of the tooth underneath.

A bridge replaces one or more missing teeth by anchoring a false tooth to crowns placed on the teeth either side of the gap, creating a fixed replacement rather than a removable one. It is a longstanding alternative to an implant, particularly when the neighbouring teeth already need crowns.

Gum disease treatment ranges from a deeper professional cleaning for early inflammation through to more involved periodontal care once bone around the teeth has started to be affected. Bleeding gums are usually the earliest sign, and the early stage is reversible with proper cleaning and better daily plaque control.

Pediatric dental care is built around treating children specifically — dentists with additional training in child development and behaviour management, and offices designed to make a first visit unintimidating. Guidance generally points to a child's first dental visit around age one or within six months of the first tooth. This page has the practice's contact details and full service list. I went in for a second opinion on the care recommendations of my current dentist and found the staff very friendly and helpful. Dr. Hall carefully went over the treatment options, timing, costs and advantages/disadvantages of each. He helped me figure out which made sense for me and how to fit the work in with other things happening in my life. He is very good at explaining the reasons for everything and very patient about answering questions.

I’ve been to a lot of dentists, and Laurelwood Dental is by far the best. Lisa and the other hygienists take all the time you’ll need to answer questions and consistently treat you with dignity and care. The dentists are skilled, patient and clear. I wouldn’t go anywhere else!

Dr Hall and his team are just the greatest! I got right in when I had pain in my lower gums and he took care of it immediately. He never suggests work that is unnecessary until it’s time to take care of it, so I really trust him. And my teeth cleanings are so fun, I look forward to them! Tiffany is so upbeat and so thorough that the appointments are just great. I am so thankful that I was referred to this office when I moved to Portland a couple of years ago.

I have been a patient at Laurelwood for ~20 years. I am so happy with their care that I refuse to find a new dentist near my home in Eugene and happily drive the 100 miles each way. I can't say enough kind things about all of the individuals that work in this office. They treat you like family and I almost enjoy flossing now.

Best dental clinic in town. No matter who you see, you'll always get the most compassionate care with everything explained in detail. It's in an excellent location as well. The view of the treetops is very relaxing. These are amazing, wonderful, compassionate, beautiful humans who go the extra mile to make your experience perfect. As well, they are informed with the latest technology available and have the latest equipment in their clinic. A new crown in 1 hour. Don't waste your time going anywhere else. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
