About Lisa Salloum, DDS

Lisa Salloum, DDS operates on Dunn Avenue in the Highlands area of Jacksonville, Florida. Gum disease treatment ranges from a deeper professional cleaning for early inflammation through to more involved periodontal care once bone around the teeth has started to be affected. Bleeding gums are usually the earliest sign, and the early stage is reversible with proper cleaning and better daily plaque control.

Payment and insurance arrangements vary by practice and by treatment, so it is worth asking directly what is covered and what options exist for anything that is not, rather than assuming either way. Getting that clarified before treatment starts avoids surprises once it is underway.

Beyond any single treatment, most dental visits start with an examination — checking for decay, reviewing the gums, and looking at existing fillings or crowns — often alongside X-rays where there is a reason to look between or beneath teeth. That groundwork is what a dentist uses to explain any findings and set out next steps before you leave.

Routine attendance, roughly every six months for most people, is what actually keeps small problems small. A lot of decay and gum disease develops without any pain in its early stages, which is why regular checkups matter even when nothing seems to be wrong, rather than only booking an appointment once something hurts.

A first appointment at a new practice typically covers a full examination, a review of your dental and medical history, and a professional cleaning, with X-rays if you do not have recent ones. It is also a reasonable time to raise any longer-term concerns, cosmetic or otherwise, so they can be factored into a plan going forward.

Day-to-day oral health still comes down to the basics between visits — brushing twice daily with fluoride toothpaste, cleaning between the teeth, and limiting how often sugary food and drink appear through the day matters more than the total amount eaten at once. Regular professional care is what catches whatever those habits do not. Use this page to find contact information for Lisa Salloum, DDS and to see its full range of services before getting in touch.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where is Lisa Salloum, DDS located in Jacksonville?

What services does Lisa Salloum, DDS offer?
Listed services at Lisa Salloum, DDS include Gum Disease Treatment. The full list is shown on this page.
What are the early signs of gum disease?
Gums that bleed when brushing or flossing, redness and puffiness along the gumline, and persistent bad breath are the usual first indicators. Bleeding is the one most often dismissed, and it is the clearest early warning.
Why do my gums bleed even though I brush twice a day?
Bleeding usually reflects where you are cleaning rather than how often. Plaque left along the gumline and between teeth causes inflammation there, which is exactly the area brushing alone tends to miss, so flossing or interdental brushes matter.
What causes bad breath and can a dentist help?
Persistent bad breath most often comes from bacteria on the tongue and around the gumline, and gum disease is a frequent underlying cause. Because it is usually oral in origin, a dental examination is a sensible first step.

The entire staff was extremely cordial and kind, all seemed very knowledgeable with the tasks at hand when caring for me. Dr. Lisa was the best, she really took her time to explain my situation thoroughly to me, and why the treatment plan she recommended to me was needed and necessary. It was my first time at her practice, her and her staff did an awesome job of lowering my anxiety and answering my concerns. I would recommend her and her staff highly.

I feel this doctor, staff and location is the right fit for me and my family. Dr. Shalloum immediately discovered an important infection I've had well over a year that my orthodontist and general dentist overlooked 😬. By this being HER practice and not a conglomerate, she can focus on HER patient's primary issues vs their financial pockets. I look forward to getting the right care with her. Also, I like her bedside manner and how she (and her staff) make themselves accessible to their patients 😏.

They got me in quickly and I appreciate that. I had an implant fall out of my upper right mouth that was put in by my dentist in Mesa, AZ and the type/brand of that implant might be very popular in AZ, but 2 periodontist i contacted before Dr. Salloum said they didn't have the right tools to work on that brand. Dr. Salloum assured me she could work on it after we return from an extended trip to Europe. She also assured me I would be perfectly ok while on the trip and had NO limitations on what I could eat. She strongly suggested I lightly brush or rinse after every meal. I see her to get started on the "resolution" on Nov 12th.

Dr. Shalloum is restoring my faith in dentistry. I’m an extremely anxious person & was having a hard time at my 1st appointment but she took the time to calm me down & explain everything in detail. She got on to business right away & sent me home with meds, very detailed instructions & 3 different ways to reach her in case anything happened. Highly recommend.
