About London Road Dental Care
London Road Dental Care is a dental practice on London Road in Preston, England. A professional cleaning removes the plaque and hardened tartar that brushing and flossing cannot reach, particularly along the gumline, and is the core of routine preventive care. Most people benefit from a cleaning roughly every six months, more often for those managing gum disease.
Affordable care means the practice sets out to make treatment accessible on a self-pay basis or through a payment arrangement, rather than assuming every patient arrives with comprehensive insurance. It is worth asking directly what options exist before assuming a needed treatment is out of reach.
General dentistry covers the routine and restorative care most people need most often — examinations, cleanings, fillings, and preventive checks that catch problems while they are still small and inexpensive to treat. Regular attendance, roughly every six months for most patients, is what makes that early-catch approach actually work.
Digital X-rays are a routine part of dental care because they show what a visual exam alone cannot — decay forming between teeth, bone loss below the gumline, and how developing adult teeth are positioned in children. They use a low radiation dose and are taken on a schedule matched to individual risk rather than at every single visit.
Left untreated, small dental problems tend not to stay small. A minor cavity that would have been a straightforward filling can progress to needing root canal treatment and a crown, and early gum inflammation that would have reversed with a good cleaning can progress toward bone loss around the teeth. Catching things early is generally the difference in both effort and cost.
Continuity matters in dental care — seeing the same practice over time means your history, X-rays, and any patterns in your oral health are already on file, rather than starting from scratch at each visit. That familiarity is part of what a regular dental home offers beyond any single appointment. A man in his 60’s shouldn’t be afraid of the dentist, but past experiences kept me away for that reason. It took a recommendation and a lot of courage for me to eventually ‘bite the bullet’ and go. My teeth were a mess and I asked Richard to simply take them out. But he wasn’t comfortable with that and said if I would let him he could do so much more for me. So I put my complete trust in him and had a course of treatment resulting in a perfect smile. If you’re like I was, afraid to even walk into a dentist, I can honestly recommend Richard and his assistants. Gentle, caring, and professional throughout.
Great experience from the team, very accommodating and excellent treatment offered across the board.
Never trusted dentist until I meet "London Road Dental" Team.Very friendly and professional staff. The only dentist I trust, would highly recommend.
Amazing place and people, always a pleasure getting treated by Dr Richard!
Went to London Road dental care today After not seeing a dentist for over 30+ years The dentist mr Barnes put me totally at ease and guided me through the treatment plane fantastic dentist glad I went Would I go again 100% I would
For many reasons it had been a while since I had visited a dentist . I did some research , distance , reviews etc and booked in to see Richard Baines, From the moment I arrived and speaking to the lovely friendly receptionist savannah, to then meeting Richard and having a full an extensive examination , I was made to feel so comfortable and put at ease, as I was particularly nervous . He clearly explained the plan going forward and I felt so relieved and was even smiling as I left . I only wish I had gone sooner . Thank you and I will have no qualms returning for my treatments.
Absolutely the best dentist I’ve ever been to, and I’ve seen many. Richard is incredibly professional, trustworthy, calm, and reassuring, I was so relaxed during the treatment that I almost fell asleep! In the long term, I’ve never had any issues with the dental work he’s done over years 🙌”
I was nervous about going to a dentist as I’ve not been in years but they was so welcoming and reassuring the front desk lady was very kind and easy to talk to the dentist Richard and his assistant. Was very professional and answered any questions to reassure me the price was very friendly and fair and bookings are fast. such a good dentist I would definitely go again and recommend to anyone. Once again i thank the staff for the service 10/10
Just like to say a big thank you to Richard Baines and his staff at London Road Dental Care for a fantastic job on my teeth
Excellent dentist,Richard really puts you at you're ease .He explains the treatment process so you always know what you're options are.maybe the magazines in the waiting area could be better ,but that's a tiny thing.one the best dentist I have visited.
I can't speak highly enough about the treatment I have received from both the dentist Richard and the hygienist at London rd. Dental practice. I am a very nervous patient and have been made so at ease throughout my three appointments here. I would definitely recommend to anyone and the advice I have been given for my gum health and further treatment is genuine and they obviously put their patients first. Rare to find definitely a trustworthy bunch of people.
