Great service from start to finish! The entire staff is friendly and welcoming. Dr. Cowan is the best. He walked me through everything step by step, making my visit stress-free. I barely felt any pain, only a little during the numbing process. Easily the best dental experience I’ve ever had. I highly recommend Dr. Cowan and the team at Long Beach Modern Dentistry!

I called and scheduled a new patient exam AND cleaning. When I arrived for my appointment I was greeted by the friendly staff and had digital X-rays and very clear pictures taken of my teeth. Then I sat down with the dentist, who examined my teeth and measured the gaps between my gums. All of this was good, and felt like any other dentist visit. Then came the sales pitch. Because I have gaps larger than 3mm in some places, I was recommended an “ultra deep cleaning” treatment consisting of 4 different stages (all billed individually which means 4 copays) and a bacterial lab test that would cost me over $800 after the huge portion my insurance would cover. When I showed hesitance, an administrator came in to talk more about scheduling. After saying I wanted to consider it, a second administrator came in pushing PAYMENT PLANS for these treatments. When I again refused, I was walked out without getting the cleaning I scheduled. “Modern Dentistry” must mean treating dental medicine like a car dealership, upselling and offering financing. I appreciate the professionalism of the staff I met, and getting to see photos and X-rays of my teeth was good, but I won’t be back.

My tooth fell out of my upper partial and was at work next door at Sprouts. I thought I would run into Modern Dentistry next door keeping my fingers crossed because I have no dental insurance. From the time I walked in Tiffany and Dr Cowan were amazing! I was quoted a $59. Intro price. Dr not only fixed my partial front tooth but did not charge me. I am so grateful and they are now my new dentist. Soooo accommodating and beyond helpful. If you don’t have a dentist this is the place to come. Modern Dentistry in Long Beach!

CROWN FITTING LIKE A GLOVE Fairly new crown placed by another dentist had to be replaced today. I am so happy that I decided to have it done in this dental office!!! Everyone is very nice and kind here. Everything went very well. There was and is no pain. I could eat and drink right after! New two hour crowns are twice the price with my insurance but I am glad I chose this option and am now done! Thank you!!!

First time. Very impressed. Clean, friendly, professional. I loved my last dentist but it was too far away. This practice bests that one.Apparently they’ve only been open for about a year. Waiting area is spacious, music is great mix of 80s, 90s, and up. Tiffany, office manager, knows her stuff. She will go over costs of everything prior to the treatment. Dr. Cowen also explains everything, with graphs and charts, 3D scan of your mouth. They have the latest tech. Hence the “modern” in the name. I had a deep cleaning. But they can do most procedures onsite and in a timely manner. Yay technology! Ample free parking and other stores in the plaza if someone is waiting for you. Or you want to get some groceries. Nice gift bag of dental supplies too! I’m very picky about my dentist and offices, and highly recommend this one.

I came in as a first time patient today and Dr. Cowan was extremely professional while also ensuring I was comfortable. He took his time and ensured all of my questions were answered and that I fully understood each step of the visit. He also did my cleaning as the hygienists were taking care of other patients; he did a fantastic job. The office manager, Tiffany was LOVELY and is excellent at what she does! She is extremely professional and takes the time to explain things really well and works hard to ensure that insurance covers what it's supposed to. The tech that did my x-rays was also awesome and made me feel comfortable and explained every step. The team was all around professional, warm, and good at what they do. I'm excited to have found a good team as it's been a struggle in the past. Thanks Dr. Cowan and team!

Best dentist I’ve ever been to. And that’s coming from someone who’s actively avoided them for years - I’ve just always had a bad experience either physically or financially. This whole experience blew me out of the water. If I had to think of one word to describe it, it would be “easy.” I actually was so happy with my service that I immediately booked a general check-in while still in the chair (I originally went for an emergency). I’m actually excited to finally get my mouth looked at and improve my hygiene. I’m excited to finally trust a dentist again. I feel so bad for my mouth, but my luck always ran dry with dentists. I feel really really good about this one :)

This dentist facility has been a good experience for me. I went to the office as a new patient and they handled me with the most professionalism. The place is well maintained, clean, and has the latest technology. They offer services that some other dental offices do not offer, such as saliva testing. They answered all my questions and made me feel welcomed. I had a deep teeth cleaning service done upon my first visit and it was well done by Ayalit. The dentist Dr. Justin Cowan performed my ceramic fillings. Even though it was done quickly, but I felt like I had someone with a good amount of experience working on me.

Yesterday I had my new patient appointment with Dr. Cowan at Long Beach Modern Dentistry, and I was completely taken aback by his level of service and genuine care. Dr. Cowan and his team were extremely attentive, professional, knowledgeable, and caring. The office is very clean and everyone from Dr. Cowan, to the oral hygienist, dentist assistant, and admin staff, has excellent chair-side manner. They were incredibly thorough and taught me new ways to improve my oral hygiene that I never knew before. I realized there were things I had been doing that weren’t actually helping my overall oral and gum health. Unlike my past dentists who used the same basic approach to cleanings, this office goes far beyond the basics. They used advanced dental technology during my cleaning and also performed a variety of assessments and scans to really evaluate where my oral and gum health currently stands. I had a few areas that need improvement, so Dr. Cowan created a clear treatment plan moving forward. I left my appointment feeling confident that at this office I will truly be improving and strengthening my oral and gum health, and not just managing it. Their office name “Modern Dentistry” is very fitting. Their approach, high-quality care, and technology is top tier and on another level compared to any dental office I’ve been to. Dr. Cowan and his entire staff are the best. Polite, helpful, and caring from start to finish. Dr. Cowan takes the time to address any concerns you may have and he explained in detail the treatments I was to receive. The office has all of the latest dental technology and is immaculate. Such a positive experience and that can be hard to find these days. My husband and I are very happy that we found Long Beach Modern Dentistry and you will be too.
