About Magnolia Family Dentistry

Family dentistry is the least glamorous discipline in the field and the one that largely determines whether you ever need the others. Magnolia Family Dentistry on Crescent Ranch Boulevard in south Lafayette exists to catch problems while they are still small: the sensitivity that signals a crack, the shadow on a bitewing still confined to enamel, the wisdom tooth crowding in at seventeen. It is also the office that refers out when a case genuinely needs a specialist, rather than attempting everything under its own roof.

The question people weigh here is rarely which procedure. It is whether one office can realistically carry a whole household without shuttling everyone to different addresses. Four general dentists practise at this location, Dr. Donovan Dronet, Dr. Jacob Fleig, Dr. Lauren Becnel and Dr. Alaina Johnson, which makes same-week appointments and back-to-back family scheduling far more workable than a solo practice can manage. The trade-off is real: you may not see the same dentist at every visit, so if continuity matters to you, ask to be booked with a named provider from the outset.

Treatment covers routine preventive care and the problems that interrupt it, including cracked teeth, tooth sensitivity, extractions and wisdom tooth removal, and bone grafting after a tooth comes out. Cosmetic options extend to bonding, veneers and combined smile makeovers. Same-day attention is available when something breaks or starts hurting, though genuine medical emergencies, meaning facial swelling that affects breathing or swallowing, or trauma with significant bleeding, belong at a hospital rather than a dental chair, and the practice says so plainly on its own site.

The office participates in the Orahh Care Dental Community and accepts most insurance plans, including Medicare Advantage coverage, which is worth knowing if you are retired and have found dental benefits awkward to use elsewhere. Hours run four days a week: Tuesday and Thursday open earliest at 7:30am, Wednesday from 8am and Monday from 9am, all finishing at 4pm, with Fridays closed. Crescent Ranch Boulevard places the practice along the newer southern edge of Lafayette, close to Youngsville and the Verot School Road side of town, and a noticeably longer drive if you live north of I-10.

Magnolia Family Dentistry keeps four general dentists, Dr. Donovan Dronet, Dr. Jacob Fleig, Dr. Lauren Becnel and Dr. Alaina Johnson, at one south Lafayette address, which makes back-to-back family appointments and same-week openings workable. Care spans preventive visits, cracked teeth and sensitivity, extractions including wisdom teeth, bone grafting, bonding, veneers and smile makeovers. The office is part of the Orahh Care Dental Community and accepts most insurance plans, including Medicare Advantage coverage.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will I see the same dentist at every visit?
Not necessarily. Four general dentists practise at this location, which is exactly what makes back-to-back family appointments and same-week openings possible, but it also means scheduling is often driven by availability rather than by provider. If continuity matters to you, and it reasonably might for ongoing restorative work, ask to be booked with a specific dentist when you call rather than assuming the system will arrange it.
Can the whole family be seen at this office?
That is how the practice is set up. Routine preventive visits, fillings, cracked teeth, sensitivity, extractions including wisdom teeth, and cosmetic work such as bonding and veneers are all handled at the one address. Cases outside general practice scope are referred out. If your household includes young children, confirm the youngest age the office sees when you book, since that threshold varies between general practices.
What counts as a dental emergency here rather than a hospital visit?
A broken tooth, a lost filling or sudden pain is a same-day dental problem, and the office asks you to call rather than wait it out. Facial swelling that affects breathing or swallowing, uncontrolled bleeding, or trauma involving the jaw belongs at a hospital emergency department first. The practice states that distinction plainly, and it is worth respecting, because some infections escalate faster than a dental chair can manage.

Established myself as a patient here, and had a great experience. My original appointment was booked far ahead, but they provide an option to be on a list where they call you for new openings. This allowed my appointment to be far sooner. The office is clean with plenty of seating and parking. Friendly staff. I was a little late due to rain/construction but they made sure to see me as I was within their 10 minute window, glad for that. The doctor was knowledgeable and friendly, and his assessment was quick. He explained which interventions I would/would not most likely need to prioritize. The real star of the show was my Hygeinist Erica! She was friendly and happy to answer all of my questions. She wasted no time, yet the visit did not feel rushed. I came in at the end of the work day, but she was never dismissive. I felt she really took the time to properly assess, screen, image, and clean my teeth. And, of course, the results say more than I ever could. I may have looked like a narcissist due to how frequently I was checking my smile in my phone camera, she did a tremendous job. Her skill and hard work truly shone through. Excellence like this must be studied! Needless to say, I am happy with my visit to Magnolia Family Dentistry. Worth the 1-hour drive.

I'm so happy with my choice to go to Magnolia Family Dentistry! They were extremely thorough and made sure I knew everything that was going on with my oral health to get me on the right path after so long. The office is gorgeous and the staff is wonderful to boot! 10/10 so happy I didn't go to any of the other numerous offices in the area.

I went in for a cleaning as I had not been to the dentist since 2022 due to lack of insurance. I had Vicki as my hygienist and I couldn’t be more pleased with my experience! She was friendly, pleasant, extremely knowledgeable and explained every step of the process. We actually discovered that we are birthday twins :) Looking forward to returning!

Dr. Lauren Becnel and staff were highly efficient and professional for my recent dental procedure. Everything was explained prior to performing treatment. All my questions were answered while reviewing the treatment plan for my upcoming crown completion. All staff I encountered were knowledgeable and courteous. I highly recommend the practice.
