Periodontist-led implant care in Midtown East
Smyleee Rating
Excellent
Manhattan Periodontics and Implant Dentistry is a Midtown East practice with a specific positioning: it's a periodontics office first, with implant placement built on top of the gum-and-bone specialty work the practice has been doing for years. For patients whose implant case is straightforward, that distinction may not matter much. For patients with significant bone loss, gum recession, prior periodontal disease, or complications from earlier failed implants, going to a practice that treats the foundational tissue as its main job — not as a referral-out problem — is the difference between a smooth case and a stalled one.
You can have a single missing tooth replaced with an implant here, or move to a full-arch restoration when multiple teeth are involved. The full mouth rehabilitation pathway is particularly relevant when periodontal disease has compromised the supporting structure of multiple teeth and the answer isn't one implant at a time but a coordinated plan that addresses gum health, bone grafting, and prosthetic work together. Bone grafting is treated as core specialty work here, not a bolted-on procedure — which matters when imaging shows the kind of bone loss that would slow down a general implant practice.
If your implant case involves significant bone loss, a history of gum disease, or complications from a prior failed implant, this is the kind of practice equipped to scope a realistic plan rather than referring you out.
On cost, periodontist-led implant practices typically price at the higher end of the NYC implant market because the specialty training adds real value for complex cases. A consultation here is where you get a real quote and an honest read on whether your case actually needs the specialty-tier approach or whether a generalist implant practice could handle it. Patients researching single tooth implant cost in New York, NY or budget dental implant clinics in New York looking for a periodontist's opinion will find this clinic a useful comparison point.

I cannot express how grateful I am for Dr Ramani, Dr. Pae, and the rest of the team. I suffered from an accident last year and was struggling to find a doctor I felt comfortable with to preform my dental implant surgery. From the moment I stepped into the office I felt at ease. I was greeted with compassion and expertise that allowed a weight to be lifted from my shoulders during such a hard time. They took such good care of me pre and post op and I now have a smile that I am confident in, which at the time I didn’t think was possible. I am so appreciative of Manhattan Periodontics and all they have done for me! I recommend them a thousand times over!
Due to a childhood accident, I needed to have my front tooth removed and replaced with an implant. From the very beginning, Dr. Rahmani put me completely at ease with his professionalism, skill, and compassion. The procedure was handled with exceptional care, and the implant process was seamless. In close collaboration with my dentist, Dr. Sawa, the final result exceeded my expectations in every way. I am incredibly grateful for their expertise and teamwork. Thank you for saving my smile!
I’m so grateful to Dr. Pae, Dr. Maiberg, and Dr. Rahmani’s entire team for their kindness, professionalism, and outstanding care. From the very first call to their office, I felt truly listened to and supported, something that meant a lot after a difficult and stressful dental experience elsewhere. Dr. Pae took the time to carefully explain treatment options for both myself and my son, answer every question, and ensure we understood each step. He did an amazing and precise job correcting serious issues caused by another provider. Dr. Pae and Dr. Rahmani’s calm, professional approach gave me confidence at a time when I needed it most. The Operations Manager, Flo, went above and beyond to make me feel safe, respected, and valued as a patient. She is an incredible, honest, and truly empathetic person. Thank you, Flo! Their work was not only excellent from a medical perspective but also deeply human: compassionate, respectful, and honest. I’m sincerely thankful for the care they provided to me and my son, and I would not hesitate to recommend their office to anyone who wants to be treated with dignity and real expertise. Thank you all for restoring not just my smile, but my trust. 🙏
After years of frustration with constant bleeding around my upper left implants and several thousand dollars spent, I finally found the right specialist in Dr. Rahmani. I had one-piece zirconia implants placed in 2017 by another office, and despite multiple attempts elsewhere—including prior laser therapy—the bleeding and inflammation never fully resolved. These professionals said I needed to learn how to floss and left it at that!! “Caveat emptor,” dental work is not inexpensive, so please do your homework before you engage a provider for services. My first visit was in May 2024. The exam and X-rays showed inflammation and horizontal bone loss. Dr. Rahmani indicated that the crown contours were contributing to the problem. The plan was clear, staged, and conservative where possible. First, Dr. Starace performed LAPIP (Laser Assisted Peri-Implantitis Procedure) to calm the tissues and reduce bacterial load. Once this procedure was completed, Dr. Rahmani proceeded to the Peri-implant surgical debridement and precise osseous re-contouring to support healing around both implants. On the same day, the prosthodontist Dr. Pae fabricated new provisional restorations with improved cleansable contours. I would like everyone reading this review to understand that I had grown so accustomed to the site bleeding off and on for a few years that I was resigned to the potential outcome. The crowns were not placed correctly, and the work done by a previous dental team was causing a “food trap”. If I had not come to Manhattan Periodontics, I would have been well on my way to losing the costly implants due to bone loss. While it’s not my intent to disparage anyone in the profession, it’s also important to note that the Manhattan Periodontics team looked at this problem from a 360 view and came up with a solution that is nothing short of brilliant. It was all a matter of caring enough to do the best job possible in a very skillful manner, thinking outside the box. I have extremely high standards, and this team surpassed my expectations. Beyond the excellent clinical work, the experience was outstanding, with thoughtful explanations, gentle care, on-time visits, and seamless collaboration with the prosthodontist. solved a complex, long-standing problem that others could not. If you’re dealing with peri-implant issues or “mystery” bleeding around ceramic implants, this is the periodontist you want in your corner!
Even though I have not had any procedure done with Dr. Rahmani, I must say that my experience with him has been very pleasant. He took the time to really listen to my concerns, and not only that, he has been very open towards receiving my follow up questions via email as well. He truly cares and is sincere in helping. The front desk, Flo, has always been kind and proactive in checking if I have any follow up questions.
