About Marina Endodontics

Based on East Pacific Coast Highway in the Marina area of Long Beach, California, Marina Endodontics is a dental practice serving the area. Root canal treatment removes infected or inflamed tissue from inside a tooth, cleans and seals the space, and allows the natural tooth to be kept rather than extracted. Its reputation for being painful is largely outdated — carried out under local anaesthetic, it typically relieves pain rather than causing it.

Continuity matters in dental care — seeing the same practice over time means your history, X-rays, and any patterns in your oral health are already on file, rather than starting from scratch at each visit. That familiarity is part of what a regular dental home offers beyond any single appointment.

Dental anxiety is common, and most practices are used to working with nervous patients — through clear explanations of what is about to happen, a slower pace where needed, and sedation options for patients who want them. Avoiding the dentist out of anxiety tends to make eventual treatment more involved, not less.

Children benefit from starting dental visits early, generally by their first birthday or within six months of the first tooth coming through, mainly so they become familiar with the setting before any treatment is actually needed. Establishing that routine early tends to make ongoing checkups far less stressful for both child and parent.

Payment and insurance arrangements vary by practice and by treatment, so it is worth asking directly what is covered and what options exist for anything that is not, rather than assuming either way. Getting that clarified before treatment starts avoids surprises once it is underway.

Beyond any single treatment, most dental visits start with an examination — checking for decay, reviewing the gums, and looking at existing fillings or crowns — often alongside X-rays where there is a reason to look between or beneath teeth. That groundwork is what a dentist uses to explain any findings and set out next steps before you leave. What services does Marina Endodontics offer?

How do I know if I need a root canal?
Common signs are lingering pain after something hot or cold, pain when biting down, a tooth that darkens, or a persistent pimple-like spot on the gum. Diagnosis needs an examination and usually an X-ray, since these can point to other problems too.
What happens if I do not get a root canal?
The infection inside the tooth does not resolve by itself. It typically progresses to an abscess and can spread into surrounding bone, and the tooth is far more likely to be lost. Extraction becomes the alternative once the tooth cannot be saved.
Why do dentists take X-rays?
Decay between teeth and problems below the gumline are invisible to the naked eye, so X-rays are what reveal them. Modern digital images use a low dose and are taken only when clinically justified.

I can't say enough wonderful things about Marina Endodontics. At 38 weeks pregnant, the last thing I expected was to need a root canal, but from the moment I walked in, I knew I was in the best hands. When I first came in at 37 weeks pregnant, Dr. Sadek created a conservative treatment plan focused on getting me comfortable while keeping both me and my baby safe. By 38 weeks, I was ready for the procedure, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Mary, the receptionist and assistant, is truly an angel on earth. She anticipated every need I had, constantly checked to make sure both the baby and I were comfortable, and brought such a calming presence to an otherwise stressful situation. Her kindness and compassion made all the difference. Dr. Sadek was absolutely phenomenal. He explained every step of the procedure with incredible detail and care, answered all of my questions, and took a thoughtful, conservative approach throughout. Despite having a root canal at 38 weeks pregnant, I was never in pain during the procedure. I felt completely cared for from beginning to end. Everyone at Marina Endodontics is not only highly skilled but genuinely compassionate. Needing a root canal just two weeks before giving birth was far from ideal, but they made what could have been an overwhelming experience feel manageable and reassuring. I am beyond grateful for the exceptional care I received and would choose Marina Endodontics again without hesitation. If you're looking for an endodontist who combines expertise with truly outstanding patient care, this is the place.

My root canal visit was very comforting. I had developed a phobia that root canal is painful and mixed review of should you do a root canal or extraction. I preferred after much research that root canal is better option for me since saving my natural tooth was my goal. Dr. Sadek and miss Marie were very polite, welcoming and thorough on their work. They study your case take lots of X-rays and not to mention they have state of art technology to take 3D images of your tooth. My root canal started and ended when I haven’t noticed. I would recommend Dr. Sadek for root canal and their office is also well presented. Thanks

Hello everyone. I was referred by my dentist for a root canal. This is the best place. Mary helped me with all the paperwork ready to send to my insurance. Dr. Sadek, beyond my expectations. I didn’t even experience pain days after the treatment. His staff are beyond helpful and friendly. Thank you Dr Sadek.

I cannot recommend Marina Endodontics enough. After my previous dentist suggested a full extraction—which felt unnecessary, incredibly expensive, and daunting—I came here for a second opinion. It was the best decision I could have made. The customer service is truly incredible; the staff is welcoming and professional from the moment you walk in. Dr. Sadek is phenomenal. He took the time to explain the entire procedure in detail, making sure I understood why a retreatment was a viable option over an extraction. In the end, Dr. Sadek was able to successfully retreat my root canal and save my tooth. He saved me from a lot of unnecessary pain, saved me a significant amount of money, and most importantly, saved the tooth that another office was ready to pull. If you want a specialist who is skilled, honest, and patient-focused, this is the place to go.

Dr. Sadek is an amazing Doctor. He TRULY loves what he does. His character and integrity is head and shoulders above any Doctor I’ve ever met. In 2023 I had 2 root canals redone and a new one done somewhere else. Late 2025 I had a dental CT scan done and found out all of them have infection in them, one extremely bad and roots that weren’t completely filled in. Finding this out I definitely wouldn’t go back to that place to have it done . I was referred to Dr. Sadek and told he was the BEST, he definitely IS! Not to mention all his equipment is State of the Art and his staff Mary and Alex are just as kind and welcoming as he is.

I wanted to share my excellent experience with Dr. Sadek. He is a consummate endodontist professional. He thoroughly explained the root canal process beforehand and then efficiently resolved my issue. He made me feel relaxed and comfortable throughout the procedure. The office environment is also very comfortable, and Mary is a sweetheart. I cannot recommend them enough
