About Marshall Oral, Facial and Implant Surgery Center
There is a category of case that general dentists and even many implant practices will not attempt, and that is the work this Smith Road office exists to take. Matthew T. Marshall, DMD, MD holds both a dental degree and a medical one, the dual-qualification route in oral and maxillofacial surgery, and the practice scope reflects it: impacted teeth and routine wisdom tooth removal at one end, and congenital jaw and facial growth deformities, pathology of the mouth, head and neck, facial trauma and reconstruction after cancer treatment at the other. Patients arrive here almost entirely on referral, sent by dentists, orthodontists and physicians across Summit County.
Zygomatic implants illustrate what that training makes possible. When an upper jaw has lost so much bone that ordinary implants have nothing to hold — years of denture wear, advanced gum disease, or a large graft that failed — the conventional answer is extensive bone reconstruction and a year of waiting. The alternative anchors much longer implants into the zygoma, the cheekbone, which sits above the sinus and stays dense throughout life regardless of what happens to the jaw. The surgeon angles the implant up through the back of the upper jaw and into that bone under general anaesthesia or deep sedation, planned beforehand on three-dimensional imaging because the trajectory has to clear the sinus and the eye socket. A fixed bridge can often be attached soon afterwards. Guided bone regeneration and All-on-4 remain the more common routes; zygomatic implants are the answer when there is genuinely no jawbone left to work with.
The office is at 3075 Smith Road, Suite 102, in West Akron near the Fairlawn line, just off the West Market Street corridor and within reach of Montrose, Bath, Copley and the hospital campuses along the same stretch. I-77 is close, which matters for patients travelling in from Barberton, Wadsworth or further south.
Hours are weekday only, with a half day on Wednesday and an early Friday finish, so surgical slots book ahead. If you are considering complex implant work, expect the first appointment to be diagnostic — a scan and a conversation — rather than a price quoted over the phone.

Emergency tooth extraction painless didn't even feel it didn't feel the next day second molar from the back up high one two three. No pain at all no swelling. My mouth is having more work than route 80 and Dr Marshall did some job highly recommend. The tooth wasn't bothering me I broke it eating popcorn it was sharp like a spike
I don’t usually leave bad reviews, but this really bothered me. As a self pay patient, I signed paperwork saying payment was due at the time of service, which was completely fine. When I checked out, I asked if I owed anything else and was told no. I paid my bill and left Months later, I got a text and a bill in the mail saying I had an overdue balance. I don’t think it’s fair to bill someone months later because of a mistake on the office’s end. In my business we don’t get to bill customers months later if we forget to charge for something, you take the loss and move on. Seems shady to me.
Incredible surgeon and team! First class care and service!
I am not a new patient at this practice, but treated like a new patient every visit. Dr. Marshall is very thorough as well as his staff. He was very patient and as always explained everything to me…several times! Highly recommend this practice!!!
I went in for an appointment and was very pleased with the environment. It was quiet and welcoming. They showed me a video explaining everything I needed to know about wisdom teeth and the surgery process. At my previous dental appointments elsewhere, they never really explained anything—they just went straight to work. I also appreciated that the rooms were private, which made the experience feel much more comfortable.”
Marshall Dentistry was absolutely wonderful. I had a painful toothache while on a flight and discovered my last wisdom tooth needed to be removed. After getting a referral from my dentist, I was able to book with Marshall Dentistry quickly. The team was quick, courteous, professional, friendly, and affordable. They made a stressful situation so much easier, and I highly recommend both this office and this dentist!
Dr Marshall and his team are awesome. Was very nervous about sedation. Have never been put under. At 36 I was also nervous about having all 4 wisdom teeth done at the same time. Since ive got home have had hardly any pain or swelling. Dr and his assistants explained everything every step of the way until I was asleep. This office is awesome and I highly recommend!!
Extremely pleased with the service I received here. Day two of my extraction and all seems to be going well. No significant pain or bleeding. Small amount of swelling at extraction point. Was super impressed that the Dr. Calls personally to check on you later in the day. Awesome touch and I hot to ask him a couple questions. Would most definitely recommend.
