About Matthew Fullmer, DDS

Matthew Fullmer, DDS provides dental care on Southwest Westport Drive in the Southwest Topeka area of Topeka, Kansas. Cosmetic treatment is generally the least invasive branch of dentistry, built around changing how teeth look rather than fixing something broken. Whitening and bonding sit at the lighter end; veneers and reshaping involve more planning. Most cosmetic dental insurance excludes this kind of work, since it is elective rather than medically necessary.

Sedation dentistry uses inhaled, oral, or intravenous options to help patients relax through treatment, ranging from nitrous oxide for mild anxiety through to deeper sedation for longer or more involved procedures. It is commonly used for patients who have avoided the dentist for years due to fear.

At the core of a general dental practice is preventive and restorative care: checkups, professional cleanings, fillings, and screening for decay and gum disease before either becomes a bigger problem. It is the kind of appointment most people need on a routine schedule rather than only when something hurts.

Day-to-day oral health still comes down to the basics between visits — brushing twice daily with fluoride toothpaste, cleaning between the teeth, and limiting how often sugary food and drink appear through the day matters more than the total amount eaten at once. Regular professional care is what catches whatever those habits do not.

Digital X-rays are a routine part of dental care because they show what a visual exam alone cannot — decay forming between teeth, bone loss below the gumline, and how developing adult teeth are positioned in children. They use a low radiation dose and are taken on a schedule matched to individual risk rather than at every single visit.

Left untreated, small dental problems tend not to stay small. A minor cavity that would have been a straightforward filling can progress to needing root canal treatment and a crown, and early gum inflammation that would have reversed with a good cleaning can progress toward bone loss around the teeth. Catching things early is generally the difference in both effort and cost. This page has the practice's contact details and full service list. Brenda was so amazing by getting me in quick and informing me of there affordable membership plan! The real stars of that office were Carla and Kristy! These wonderful woman took such good care and were so friendly I can’t express my gratitude enough.

Been giving Matt business for a couple years I suppose with checkups and more, I would say the hospitality is decent. It seemed if I had any questions I had to ask them myself, not much information was ever given to me regarding the situation. I had a couple crowns put in by Fullmer that let to a horrible experience and pain for a couple weeks that he didn't even fix himself, I had to go to the office next door for them to correct. I understand mistakes happen because we're human but I will never be giving my business at his office again especially for the amount of money I've come out of pocket for this terrible experience. Even 6 months later I still have difficulty chewing tougher foods and sensitivity. Anyways to sum this up, I don't ever even leave reviews but this whole thing was enough for me I wanted to share for others opinions on choosing matt's office, I would not recommend.

They misrepresented their charges. Completely unwilling to work with their patients. Do not seem to know how to work with insurance coverage.

Dr Fullmer office is an incredibly dishonest dental service company The process for my root canal and bridge rhrough my insurance has been horrible. I paid up front after extensive consultation with the dentist of the total amount. Well to my surprise after I completed procedure and had paid $2000.00 in cash on top if insurance this deceitful company stated that I owed a lot more. I only found out by planning another procedure and put $375.00 down. When I called my insurance they stated this company was not the best for my plan. When I went to get my monies back Dr Fullmer said that I would not be getting my money back because I still owed on previous procedure. I will be taking action against this unscrupulous behavior. Do not use them

I was referred to Dr Fullmer by my retired dentist recently and couldn’t be more pleased. I was given an appointment quickly, and didn’t have to wait a long time once I got there. Dr Fullmer and his staff were very personable and helpful. I’m looking forward to returning to finish up the work started . Thank you, Nancy Liesmann

I have been to a few dentists and couldn't find one I really liked until Dr. Fullmer! He is amazing and makes sure you are comfortable at all times. His Dental Assistant Laurie is great and makes you feel like family. And his office staff are great too, you get in quick especially for emergencies like I had, return calls quickly and are very welcoming. If you are looking for a dentist, stop looking now because you have found him! Thanks Dr. Fullmer & staff, this was the best dental experience I have ever had!
