auto-syncedAbout Mayfair Dental Center
Mayfair Dental Center is a dental practice on Frankford Avenue in the Mayfair area of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. General dentistry covers the routine and restorative care most people need most often — examinations, cleanings, fillings, and preventive checks that catch problems while they are still small and inexpensive to treat. Regular attendance, roughly every six months for most patients, is what makes that early-catch approach actually work.
A first appointment at a new practice typically covers a full examination, a review of your dental and medical history, and a professional cleaning, with X-rays if you do not have recent ones. It is also a reasonable time to raise any longer-term concerns, cosmetic or otherwise, so they can be factored into a plan going forward.
Day-to-day oral health still comes down to the basics between visits — brushing twice daily with fluoride toothpaste, cleaning between the teeth, and limiting how often sugary food and drink appear through the day matters more than the total amount eaten at once. Regular professional care is what catches whatever those habits do not.
Digital X-rays are a routine part of dental care because they show what a visual exam alone cannot — decay forming between teeth, bone loss below the gumline, and how developing adult teeth are positioned in children. They use a low radiation dose and are taken on a schedule matched to individual risk rather than at every single visit.
Left untreated, small dental problems tend not to stay small. A minor cavity that would have been a straightforward filling can progress to needing root canal treatment and a crown, and early gum inflammation that would have reversed with a good cleaning can progress toward bone loss around the teeth. Catching things early is generally the difference in both effort and cost.
Continuity matters in dental care — seeing the same practice over time means your history, X-rays, and any patterns in your oral health are already on file, rather than starting from scratch at each visit. That familiarity is part of what a regular dental home offers beyond any single appointment. Good service nice friendly people
I was positively surprised by this office. The staff is very kind and dentist is very gentle and compassionate. Recently one of the teeth they worked on had horrible sensitivity 3 months after a filling (I suffer from sensitive teeth), they took care of it without additional charge which I really appreciated since I had few big unexpected expenses lately. They also work with credit care in case you need a procedure that your insurance doesn’t cover (the manager really helped me out with my case). Over all very recommended.
My first visit was wonderful. I came in and needed a tooth extraction and it went smoothly and they made sure my teeth were good after. I appreciate them so much.
Over charges for visits/copays, especially if they know you have great good insurance.
Front desk girls are lazy don’t do their jobs the manager at the office is just as rude. Takes them a month to send out a prior authorization for dental work to be done come on who in the world takes that long. Lazy workers that don’t do their jobs. This place don’t care about their patients. If it’s not cash money you’re spending they don’t care about any Medicaid insurance. Very unprofessional people I would never go back they don’t even deserve 1 ⭐️
Been going here for years & absolutely love the 2 girls at the front desk. They're so sweet and the new dentist is great! She made me feel very comfortable considering I've had some bad experiences with the dentist in my life. Definitely recommend this place ❤️
I was there today and they did my 6 months cleaning everything was perfect everything was very clean and friendly. Roxy has a very good customer service and very polite I felt good getting seen in that facility, I really hope she be there on my next appointment. I usually don’t do reviews but I really felt good with how I was treated.
This was my first visit to Mayfair Dental Center. I felt warmth and friendliness as I walked in the door. The receptionist was very cordial. I was called back to the procedure room in less than 15 minutes after arriving. I received a whole mouth x-ray and cleaning in less than an hour. I was asked throughout both procedures if I experience pain or if I was okay. Christine was really great! Everything step was explained in detail. I would definitely recommend Mayfair Dental Center to family and friends.
My husband brought our daughter here last week for an extraction & the dentist and staff were great! My daughter was very nervous but she made sure she was comfortable and without any pain. I greatly appreciate the comfort she experienced. Would recommend.
