About Mini Dental Implant Centers of America - Springfield, MO

Mini implants cost less per fixture than conventional ones, but the number that matters is the arch total, not the unit price. Because minis are roughly half the diameter of a standard implant, more of them are usually placed to spread the load, and the real saving comes from what you avoid — bone grafting and the months of healing that follow it. That is a genuine difference for anyone who has been told they lack the bone width for conventional implants and would otherwise face a graft, a sinus lift and a year of staged treatment. It is not a universal answer, though. Heavy chewing forces and molar positions still favour full-diameter implants, and a scan is the only honest way to know which camp you fall into.

This Springfield location belongs to the Mini Dental Implant Centers of America network and is led by Dr. Thomas Baggett III, who serves as president of the International Association of Minimally Invasive Dentistry. The office works from CBCT 3D scans, which show bone in three dimensions rather than the flattened view a standard X-ray gives, and that scan drives the decision about mini versus traditional placement. Beyond minis the practice places conventional implants, restores full arches, and handles extractions, sinus lift surgery, crowns, bridges and dentures. Three retention designs are offered for a full arch: snap-on removable dentures, a semi-removable Fix-on-Six bridge, and a permanently cemented roundhouse bridge.

Consultations are free and begin with imaging rather than a sales pitch, which is the correct order. Financing runs through Cherry, Alphaeon Credit and CareCredit, and a range of insurance plans is accepted. The office is at 3840 South Cox Road in Suite F-102, on the Cox Road corridor near Campbell on the southwest side — convenient from Nixa and Republic, less so from the northeast quadrant of the city. Hours are 9am to 5pm Monday through Thursday and 9am to 4pm on Friday. One thing worth raising at the consultation: snap-in attachments are wearing parts and need periodic replacement, so ask what that maintenance costs each year before you compare this route against a fixed bridge.

Led by Dr. Thomas Baggett III, president of the International Association of Minimally Invasive Dentistry, this South Cox Road office plans every case from a CBCT 3D scan and places both mini and conventional implants. Minis are around half the diameter of standard fixtures, so they often fit ridges too narrow for conventional placement and skip grafting entirely. Full-arch options include snap-on dentures, a semi-removable Fix-on-Six bridge and a cemented roundhouse bridge. Consultations are free; financing available.

Frequently Asked Questions

Am I a candidate for mini implants instead of conventional ones?
The CBCT scan answers that, not a phone call. Minis are roughly half the diameter of standard implants, so they fit ridges too narrow for conventional placement and often let you skip grafting altogether. They are not right everywhere — sites carrying heavy chewing load, particularly toward the back of the mouth, generally favour full-diameter implants. This office places both, so the scan drives the recommendation.
What is the difference between snap-on, Fix-on-Six and a roundhouse bridge?
Snap-on dentures clip onto the implants and you take them out to clean them. Fix-on-Six is semi-removable — it stays put through daily life but the dentist can lift it off for maintenance. A roundhouse bridge is cemented permanently and only comes out in the surgery. Cost, daily cleaning routine and how much of your palate the appliance covers all differ between the three.
How soon can mini implants be loaded with teeth?
Mini implants are generally designed for immediate loading, meaning the denture can be attached the same day rather than after months of healing. That is their main practical appeal alongside avoiding grafts. It does not mean healing is finished — bone still integrates around the fixtures over the following months, so the soft-food guidance you are given for that period still matters and should be followed.

Whether Dr. Baggett is putting his set of Implants in, taylor making sure everything fits perfect, or Lori making magic happen behind the scenes! Ive been to alot of dentist in my life and I by far feel the most at home there, and cant wait for my final product! —Heather Durham

I went in for a consultation and ended up walking out because all I heard was the staff gossiping about another patient. Absolutely unprofessional. Who wants to get care from a business that talks about their patients negatively especially where waiting patients can hear

Very kind staff, they were able to get an implant in without a bone graft like a traditional implant. Nearly Painless!? The next day I felt normal and my jaw/mouth had no discomfort. I was so surprised. The front desk ladies are so polite (even when I had to reschedule 2 times). So glad I found this place.

Dr. Baggett is very knowledgeable regarding mini implants. Unfortunately, i am one who needed my gums built up,, but not with the minis, so it saved me from that process!! He and his staff are wonderful from reception to his assistant.. The experience was painless. I highly recommended him.

Nothing short of a miracle. Dr. Baggett and his staff make you feel like a VIP. I had been to other dentists that told me there was nothing that could be done for me as far as implants. Dr Baggett said it would be a challenge but thought he could get it done .He did it!! and he was so kind and all the follow up was included. My life has improved so much thanks to him. I highly recommend him. We are so fortunate to have him in our area.

Dr. Baggett is a top notch professional who works with each patient to tailor their new smile to the patients needs and wants. He is a perfectionist in his field and isn't happy til your happy. This is not a place for just a common "grandpa" denture. This is a place to get your smile back with long term success for just your mouth. It's an investment in your smile and dental health, and well worth every penny. Very highly recommended!
