About Mission Medical Center

Based on East La Salle Street in the East Colorado Springs area of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Mission Medical Center is a dental practice serving the area. General dentistry covers the routine and restorative care most people need most often — examinations, cleanings, fillings, and preventive checks that catch problems while they are still small and inexpensive to treat. Regular attendance, roughly every six months for most patients, is what makes that early-catch approach actually work.

Children benefit from starting dental visits early, generally by their first birthday or within six months of the first tooth coming through, mainly so they become familiar with the setting before any treatment is actually needed. Establishing that routine early tends to make ongoing checkups far less stressful for both child and parent.

Payment and insurance arrangements vary by practice and by treatment, so it is worth asking directly what is covered and what options exist for anything that is not, rather than assuming either way. Getting that clarified before treatment starts avoids surprises once it is underway.

Beyond any single treatment, most dental visits start with an examination — checking for decay, reviewing the gums, and looking at existing fillings or crowns — often alongside X-rays where there is a reason to look between or beneath teeth. That groundwork is what a dentist uses to explain any findings and set out next steps before you leave.

Routine attendance, roughly every six months for most people, is what actually keeps small problems small. A lot of decay and gum disease develops without any pain in its early stages, which is why regular checkups matter even when nothing seems to be wrong, rather than only booking an appointment once something hurts.

A first appointment at a new practice typically covers a full examination, a review of your dental and medical history, and a professional cleaning, with X-rays if you do not have recent ones. It is also a reasonable time to raise any longer-term concerns, cosmetic or otherwise, so they can be factored into a plan going forward. I wish they would indicate somewhere on their website that this clinic does not see or treat the elderly. I called for some info, and was told that they will not see anyone who is signed up for Medicare part a. Since people are required to sign up for part a when they turn 65, and they can not access their social security without it, that would mean that this clinic can not treat elderly people living on ssa, which is one of the main demographics of people who need care. I wasn't angry or belligerent or unkind upon learning this info over the phone, but I did try to ask a question. I was then hung up on mid-sentence. The woman I spoke to, Selene, should probably be taken off the phones and given other duties if speaking to people and being asked questions is so stressful for her that she just hangs up.

I am grateful I found this place for my husband. He was heard first time in his life, and it wasn’t rushed like regular 15 minutes doctors appointments where you can discuss only one issue. People there really care.

The fact that anyone can complain about an organization built for the purpose to help those in need is beyond me. Check your privilege. Anyway, I was referred here a couple of years ago back when I qualified and needed to get an ekg done. It was a relief to be able to go somewhere without having health insurance and be treated with concern and respect. More importantly , I’m writing this whole post to praise Selene (I probably have that spelled wrong) I called in earlier this week sick and weak. It has been over a year since my last visit and I no longer qualified. I was so out of sorts with my condition that they worked with me on my options anyway. Selene/Celine called me three times that day to make sure I was okay as I was scared of declining health and being weak at home with my daughter. She walked me through what I needed to do, what red flags to be aware of that would warrant a trip to urgent care /ER. They were willing to even see me one last time the next morning. I ended up getting checked out that day by another group and everything they told me basically was said to me by Selene. I was severely dehydrated and on the verge of passing out when Selene was calling to check on me (due to a bad stomach bug, not eating and barely sipping water) she had me rule some things out and order some pedialyte and Gatorade and explained the importance of needing electrolytes. When the team I ended up having came to check me (dispatch health)they pretty much confirmed everything Selene went over with me. She was a God send. I don’t have many family and friends out here but I always have faith that I will be guided when needed. This day I’m sure God put this woman on the phone with me to not only help me , but show a stranger love and kindness. With how poorly the medical field is treated by others and overworked they are, it has restored so much faith in my heart that there are genuinely loving and caring people. Thank you for everything you are Selene! I hope you know how much you matter and make a difference in this world. How much you are needed and how intentional and purposeful you are in creation! I will always be grateful for our interaction

They quietly serve a community that is often underserved. Amazing variety of services. We donate supplies to them. Some of my favorite high end medical specialists are volunteers there. Oh... and they have people who pray. Don't knock it 🙏😊... I am alive because of prayer.

I'm currently without insurance, and this clinic got me in and out for a bad cough with prescriptions within 2 hours from my initial phone call. The PA was thorough, and the pharmacy was phenomenal. Thank you Mission Medical, and God bless you all!

I have been accessing their services for many years. Recently got glasses here. They helped me realize how bad my eyes had become due to aging. That's life. They were generous and kind. Please remember, a lot of people who work here volunteer their time, so be grateful. I am!!!
