Dr. Taj is fantastic- he is kind and patient. Took his time talking with me and making a plan that I am really happy with. The staff at the front desk, billing, assistants are all amazing as well. A very welcoming and nice experience. I highly recommend!

My initial impression was positive, and I had done some research on the doctor before my appointment. However, my confidence in the practice waned when I had to wait for about 15-20 minutes in the waiting room, despite being the only patient besides one other lady. I'm not a fan of waiting. The equipment appeared up to date, which improved my opinion. But when it was time for a Pano X-ray, I noticed that the machine was dirty. I brought it to the hygienist's attention, and after some initial disagreement, she realized it was indeed dirty and cleaned it. However, the hygienist was rough during the procedure, and my comfort seemed to be overlooked. I mentioned that my lips cracked on the side, but it wasn't taken into consideration. The cleaning felt quick, and I wasn't convinced that all my teeth were thoroughly cleaned. When the dentist finally came in, it wasn't the one I had read about. He identified four areas of concern, cavities. He asked about my habits and suggested I see an oral surgeon for a spot on my tongue. I was worried, and the dentist's response left me uneasy. I expressed my discomfort, jaw pain, and nervousness and hoped to have all the necessary work done in one go. The treatment plan was presented, and I signed off on it, but later, I was informed that only one side could be treated. This was disappointing. I didn't convey that it takes a lot of numbing medication to numb me, and the numbing process was quite painful. I felt immense pain during the procedure and had to be numbed multiple times during the cavity process. Even though I mentioned at the beginning that it takes a lot foe me ro be numb. At one point, the dentist mentioned potentially hitting a nerve, which scared me, as I've never encountered such an approach during a cavity filling. Especially being that he said it was very small. It felt like he redid the cavity multiple times, making it extremely uncomfortable. One positive was that I was told I needed two surfaces instead of three. However, when I reviewed the bill later, I noticed an overcharge for three surfaces filled, which I tried to address but haven't received a response yet. Overall, I wish the dentist I had researched had been there for my services, or I should have been informed about the temporary dentist. The experience left me with mixed feelings about the practice.

1) I got a message from an employee named Nikki around three months ago to change the location of my appointment, because apparently the Davis Lake location would be closed until further notice. In the following months I never received a message from the office informing me that the appointment was moved back to the Davis Lake location. When I arrived to the location I was instructed to arrive to, the receptionist informed me that I did not have an appointment at that location and I would need to go to the Davis Lake location for my appointment. This all causes me to be 40 minutes late to my cleaning. 2) As a result of the mix up I wasted my time and spent more money on Uber when I could have spent 5 dollars going to the Davis Lake location in which I am significantly closer to. If I had my own car this would not have been as much smog a problem, but I am a recent graduate and cannot afford to spend more than I budget. 3) At the end of my appointment for my cleaning (the lady cleaning my teeth was wonderful) I asked the dentist one question regarding a different matter and he never answered the question, but instead he talked about another problem relating to my situation. It was helpful, but no one even asked to schedule an appointment regarding the matter that was brought up. After the appointment I waited for him in order to get an answer, but he seemed to have disappeared. Overall I am disappointed and might as well find another dentist office because I cannot stand when incompetence messes with my personal finances and I can’t get the answers to my concerns. This experience truly ruined my day.

I had a dental emergency in the middle of the night and was able to get in the very next morning. I have a lot of anxiety about going to the dentist because of some bad prior experiences, but the staff at Modern Family Dental made me feel very at ease. Dr. Rogers was thorough with explaining what was going on and took time to address my questions. The assistant and front desk staff were all so friendly and accommodating as well. The atmosphere is very welcoming and you can just tell that they truly care about their patients.

I moved to Charlotte about 4 months ago, and of course was in search of a new dentist. After the experience with aspen dental in Richmond I said I did not want to use them down here. As a recommendation from a good friend, I decided to give Modern Family a try. I was impressed! From the receptionist, to the technology of the X-rays, the friendly staff I was SOLD! The icing on the cake for me is they actually paid attention to what I said I wanted to do. My teeth are not bad but definitely want perfection. I explained that to the Dr and he hit everything on the nail! Laid everything out so there is no surprises. I’m happy to call the place my dental office, and I look forward to them perfecting my smile.

First visit today and the experience was completely different from previos dentist. Everything was thoroughly explained. Payment and care plan was beautifully broken down and explained. Staff was super friendly and pleasant. Talkative but not in a bad way in a more homey visiting a friend way. All around a great experience. Already sending my mom, husband and best friend and her family!

This dentist office is great from the moment you walk in the door. The reception is always so friendly and the lobby is always very tidy. I’ve been here twice both for routine cleanings and check ups and both times they’ve been efficient with service and I always feel great after my appointment. After my very first appointment they were able to get me scheduled very quickly for a cleaning. Flash forward to my 6 month cleaning and it was again another great experience. I had a small chip in my tooth and Dr. Haynes was super quick with fixing it! I was amazed. I have nothing but positive words about this dentist office and will continue to come.

This was my first visit and I must say it was a great experience. The front desk ladies are the sweetest and set the tone for you appointment. The lady I worked with was so sweet made conversation and broke down everything to me! I wish I was better with names! The dentist was very straight forward, let you know what is needed and when to get it set up. This was a great experience for me and my husband. We will be coming back to set up our next appointment for work.
