About My LA Braces - Be Confident and Smile Freely

My LA Braces - Be Confident and Smile Freely is a dental practice on West Beverly Boulevard in the South Montebello area of Montebello, California. Traditional braces use brackets and wires to gradually move teeth into alignment, handling complex bite corrections and significant crowding more predictably than removable alternatives. Treatment commonly runs one to three years, with a retainer worn afterward to hold the result.

Children benefit from starting dental visits early, generally by their first birthday or within six months of the first tooth coming through, mainly so they become familiar with the setting before any treatment is actually needed. Establishing that routine early tends to make ongoing checkups far less stressful for both child and parent.

Payment and insurance arrangements vary by practice and by treatment, so it is worth asking directly what is covered and what options exist for anything that is not, rather than assuming either way. Getting that clarified before treatment starts avoids surprises once it is underway.

Beyond any single treatment, most dental visits start with an examination — checking for decay, reviewing the gums, and looking at existing fillings or crowns — often alongside X-rays where there is a reason to look between or beneath teeth. That groundwork is what a dentist uses to explain any findings and set out next steps before you leave.

Routine attendance, roughly every six months for most people, is what actually keeps small problems small. A lot of decay and gum disease develops without any pain in its early stages, which is why regular checkups matter even when nothing seems to be wrong, rather than only booking an appointment once something hurts.

A first appointment at a new practice typically covers a full examination, a review of your dental and medical history, and a professional cleaning, with X-rays if you do not have recent ones. It is also a reasonable time to raise any longer-term concerns, cosmetic or otherwise, so they can be factored into a plan going forward. What age is best for braces?
Assessment around age seven is often suggested so developing problems can be spotted, though treatment itself usually starts later once enough adult teeth are through. Adults can be treated at any age provided the gums and bone are healthy.
Will I need a retainer after braces?
Yes, and indefinitely in some form. Teeth have a persistent tendency to drift back toward their original positions, and retainers are what prevent years of treatment from gradually undoing itself.
How often should I have a dental check-up?
Every six months suits most people. If you have gum disease or a history of decay a dentist may suggest coming more often. The point of regular visits is mostly to catch problems while they are still small and cheap to treat.

Alrighty. First off, Dr. Parsa is AWFUL… awfully good. Alright alright, hopefully I have your attention now. If there’s such a thing as bedside manner for an orthodontist, Dr. Parsa absolutely has it. He’s patient, considerate, friendly, and always professional. Trust me, I’m a lot sometimes, and he handled everything with calm and composure from start to finish. I had a crossbite and went to several very expensive orthodontists around town before finding him. Most either didn’t want to take the case or made it seem impossible because it would require too much work. I visited six orthodontists before finally going to the UCLA School of Dentistry, and even they told me: “This is absolutely treatable — you’re just running into lazy or shady orthodontists.” At that point, I had pretty much given up. Then after moving back to the Eastside, I decided to give it one last shot as I’m nearing 50. That’s when I found Dr. Parsa. He was thoughtful, collaborative, realistic, and somehow still very reasonably priced. If I could give Dr. Parsa and his staff more than five stars, I would. I’ve since brought family members there, and they’ve had equally great experiences. Most importantly, thank you for always treating me like a partner and not just another patient. That meant a lot. I’m honestly still not used to looking in the mirror and seeing straight teeth after years of side overlap. Look up a cross bite, it's not a pleasant thing to have. Thank you again, Dr. Parsa and team.

So happy with the outcome of my teeth!! I had a few issues I wanted to correct and Dr Parsa addressed them ALL!! After extensively shopping around and meeting with several orthodontists, My LA Braces ranked 1st place in customer service, cleanliness, treatment plan and of course price! Just book your appointment and thank me later ❤️😆

It has been very challenging to schedule appointments, and I have experienced multiple unexpected reschedules without clear explanation. Weekend availability is especially limited, making it difficult to plan ahead. Had I known the scheduling process would be this inconvenient, I likely would have chosen a different provider.
