About Neal Edwards DDS

Neal Edwards DDS operates on Tibbetts Street in the Magnolia Center area of Riverside, California. Periodontics is the specialty focused on the gums and the bone supporting the teeth, handling more advanced gum disease, related surgical treatment, and — in many practices — dental implant placement, which sits naturally alongside that training.

Dental anxiety is common, and most practices are used to working with nervous patients — through clear explanations of what is about to happen, a slower pace where needed, and sedation options for patients who want them. Avoiding the dentist out of anxiety tends to make eventual treatment more involved, not less.

Children benefit from starting dental visits early, generally by their first birthday or within six months of the first tooth coming through, mainly so they become familiar with the setting before any treatment is actually needed. Establishing that routine early tends to make ongoing checkups far less stressful for both child and parent.

Payment and insurance arrangements vary by practice and by treatment, so it is worth asking directly what is covered and what options exist for anything that is not, rather than assuming either way. Getting that clarified before treatment starts avoids surprises once it is underway.

Beyond any single treatment, most dental visits start with an examination — checking for decay, reviewing the gums, and looking at existing fillings or crowns — often alongside X-rays where there is a reason to look between or beneath teeth. That groundwork is what a dentist uses to explain any findings and set out next steps before you leave.

Routine attendance, roughly every six months for most people, is what actually keeps small problems small. A lot of decay and gum disease develops without any pain in its early stages, which is why regular checkups matter even when nothing seems to be wrong, rather than only booking an appointment once something hurts. Frequently Asked Questions

Where is Neal Edwards DDS located in Riverside?
Neal Edwards DDS is on Tibbetts Street in the Magnolia Center area of Riverside, California (92506).
What days is Neal Edwards DDS open?
Neal Edwards DDS is open Monday through Thursday. Contact the practice through this page to confirm current appointment times before travelling.
What services does Neal Edwards DDS offer?
Listed services at Neal Edwards DDS include Periodontics. The full list is shown on this page.
Can a periodontist save a loose tooth?
Sometimes. If the looseness comes from bone loss around the tooth, deep cleaning and periodontal treatment can stabilise it, though the outcome depends on how much support has already been lost.
What is gum recession and can it be treated?
Recession is when gum tissue pulls back and exposes more of the tooth root, often from aggressive brushing, gum disease, or grinding. Grafting procedures can cover exposed roots, though how well that works depends on the extent of the recession.
What causes bad breath and can a dentist help?
Persistent bad breath most often comes from bacteria on the tongue and around the gumline, and gum disease is a frequent underlying cause. Because it is usually oral in origin, a dental examination is a sensible first step.

I have severe dental anxiety and hate going to the dentist. Dr Edwards never fails at making me feel comfortable while under his care. He, and his staff, go out of their way to accommodate my anxieties and continuously work toward making me feel cared for and heard. This is huge for me. Dr Edwards is kind, compassionate, and very good at what he does. His staff are all amazing and well cared for. I'll never go anywhere else!

Dr. Edwards and his entire staff are great. The dental work is top notch, the entire staff is friendly, and they're ON SCHEDULE. I've been called back at or before my scheduled time during every visit. Glad I made the switch from my previous dental office.

I have always been very satisfied with Dr Edwards and all the staff at his office. Mary is just awesome. Always friendly knowledgeable and professional. Very understanding as to the cost of each procedure. We have never been told that we have to have something done. She always goes over the costs prior to setting anything up. Dr. Edwards is the best. He always explains everything in terms that we can understand. He also gives us options as to what can be done. He’s very aware that sometimes we just can’t afford to have something done. He’s just a great guy. Dana did my teeth cleaning today. She was very thorough and was always making sure that I was not having any pain. She did a great job! Thanks so much Dana. All in all you will not find a better place for your dental needs Thank you again Dr. Edwards

Dr. Edwards and his staff are amazing! We are a family of 4 that all love coming to this his office. My youngest daughter is 3 and loves him and his staff. She is never afraid to go to the dentist like I was as a child. Dr. Edwards staff is welcoming, patient and super sweet to our kids. We were referred to Dr. Edwards through our family friends when switching dentists 3 years ago and are so glad we found him!

I hadn't been to the dentist in a LONG time. Dr. Edwards' office is extremely professional. Mary, who sits in the front office, is very warm and welcoming. The staff that I came in contact with were very nice and friendly. I did not have to wait long before I was seen. This office has a very comfortable and homey feel. Dr. Edwards has a wonderful sense of humor and does not rush through his patients. I would definitely recommend this office to anyone and everyone.
