About New World Dentistry

New World Dentistry is a dental practice on Weddington Road in Concord, North Carolina. A dental implant replaces a missing tooth at the root, not just the crown — a small titanium post is placed in the jaw bone and, once it has integrated over a period of months, a replacement tooth is attached to it. It is generally the most durable option for a single missing tooth or several.

Clear aligners straighten teeth through a series of custom, removable trays, each worn for one to two weeks before moving to the next in the sequence. They suit mild to moderate crowding and spacing well, and are worn roughly twenty to twenty-two hours a day for treatment to stay on schedule.

A veneer is a thin custom shell bonded to the front of a tooth to change its shape, length, or colour, most often used to address chips, gaps, or discoloration that whitening alone cannot fix. Traditional veneers require a small amount of enamel to be removed, which makes the change permanent.

Cosmetic treatment is generally the least invasive branch of dentistry, built around changing how teeth look rather than fixing something broken. Whitening and bonding sit at the lighter end; veneers and reshaping involve more planning. Most cosmetic dental insurance excludes this kind of work, since it is elective rather than medically necessary.

Root canal treatment removes infected or inflamed tissue from inside a tooth, cleans and seals the space, and allows the natural tooth to be kept rather than extracted. Its reputation for being painful is largely outdated — carried out under local anaesthetic, it typically relieves pain rather than causing it.

Emergency dental care covers sudden problems that will not wait for a routine appointment — severe pain, a knocked-out or fractured tooth, swelling, or a lost filling that leaves a tooth exposed. Same-day or urgent appointments are the point of an emergency service, rather than the standard multi-week booking window. Worst scheduling experience as a potential new patient ever! I contacted this office in hopes of setting appointments for my husband and I. There was a third-party answering service that took down my name, contact number and some sensitive PII over the phone and informed me that the office staff would contact me when they opened. I waited a week and no call. I called back during their business hours only to be greeted by the same answering service and they requested my PII again. I declined to give it and just wanted to leave my name and number for the dental office to contact me back. The representative hung up on me! Insane. So, I called again moments later only to get the third-party answering service again. A different rep this time informed me that they have to take my PII over the phone to pass along to the office in order to receive a call back. At that point, forget it! They just lost a client because of the poor first impression that preceded them with the third-party answering service. Stop hiring these companies because they make you all look terrible!!!! And, lose you business.

Barely cleaned my teeth and was done cleaning within like 5 mins tops. I feel like the hygienist are told to not be thorough with the cleaning because the doctor was right there with her while she cleaned my teeth. Doctor goes on to tell me I have no cavities even though I have 4 for a FACT!!!. She definitely brought up needing a root canal and then told me my insurance doesn't cover it. Just all seems like a money grab to hit your insurance for subpar cleaning and get you paying out your pocket once you in there......Edit: went to another dentist and root canal was fully covered by SAME insurance along with my deep cleaning..so I went from possibly paying 4k to not having to pay nothing. Highly don't recommend this place

Dr. Kalu and her team provided an excellent experience during my daughter’s tooth extraction. While she wasn’t thrilled about the procedure, I felt completely confident in the care she was receiving. The team made the process as quick and painless as possible, and their professionalism and reassurance truly stood out. We appreciate the consistent high-quality care and will absolutely continue with Dr. Kalu. Highly recommend!

Do not ever come here. There are multiple issues I have with this office: 1) They overcharged me $100 over what my insurance said my copay was. I asked to discuss this discrepancy with them multiple times. They said they would call me to talk about the issue multiple times but never did. This leads me to believe that scamming people to pay more than they need to is a normal practice for them. 2) Dr. Kalu has no bedside manner and was extremely cold and rude. The numbing agents they used didn't work properly, so I was sobbing in pain during my filling procedure. She told me that I was being difficult and to stop breathing so hard while I was hyperventilating from pain. 3) I have never had tooth sensitivity or pain in my life. I've had fillings before and had no issues with them. It has now been 6 months post-filling and I am STILL having pain biting down and extreme sensitivity to hot and cold. I brought this up to the office and they said "it's fine, nothing is wrong." Obviosuly something is very wrong if I never had these issues before or with other fillings. TLDR: Dr Kalu is rude and a terrible dentist. You will be overcharged for your procedures and told that any issues you have afterwards are "fine." If I could give 0 stars I would. For your own sake, DO NOT CHOOSE NEW WORLD DENTISTRY!

Staff was nice! But I’ll just say my mouth hasn’t been the same since going here. I don’t chew the same and my teeth are SUPER sensitive to everything even room temp 🤦‍♀️. Definitely wasn’t like that before and it’s BEEN passed my healing time from when I had gone! Never had anything like this happen in all my years.
