About Niagara Dental Implant & Oral Surgery

Niagara Dental Implant & Oral Surgery provides dental care on Main Street in Williamsville, New York. Periodontics is the specialty focused on the gums and the bone supporting the teeth, handling more advanced gum disease, related surgical treatment, and — in many practices — dental implant placement, which sits naturally alongside that training.

Routine attendance, roughly every six months for most people, is what actually keeps small problems small. A lot of decay and gum disease develops without any pain in its early stages, which is why regular checkups matter even when nothing seems to be wrong, rather than only booking an appointment once something hurts.

A first appointment at a new practice typically covers a full examination, a review of your dental and medical history, and a professional cleaning, with X-rays if you do not have recent ones. It is also a reasonable time to raise any longer-term concerns, cosmetic or otherwise, so they can be factored into a plan going forward.

Day-to-day oral health still comes down to the basics between visits — brushing twice daily with fluoride toothpaste, cleaning between the teeth, and limiting how often sugary food and drink appear through the day matters more than the total amount eaten at once. Regular professional care is what catches whatever those habits do not.

Digital X-rays are a routine part of dental care because they show what a visual exam alone cannot — decay forming between teeth, bone loss below the gumline, and how developing adult teeth are positioned in children. They use a low radiation dose and are taken on a schedule matched to individual risk rather than at every single visit.

Left untreated, small dental problems tend not to stay small. A minor cavity that would have been a straightforward filling can progress to needing root canal treatment and a crown, and early gum inflammation that would have reversed with a good cleaning can progress toward bone loss around the teeth. Catching things early is generally the difference in both effort and cost. What services does Niagara Dental Implant & Oral Surgery offer?
Listed services at Niagara Dental Implant & Oral Surgery include Periodontics. The full list is shown on this page.
What is gum recession and can it be treated?
Recession is when gum tissue pulls back and exposes more of the tooth root, often from aggressive brushing, gum disease, or grinding. Grafting procedures can cover exposed roots, though how well that works depends on the extent of the recession.
When should I see a periodontist instead of a general dentist?
Usually on referral, when gum disease has advanced beyond what routine treatment is resolving — deep pockets, ongoing bone loss, or gum recession needing surgical management.
How can I look after my teeth between appointments?
Brushing twice a day with fluoride toothpaste and cleaning between the teeth daily covers most of it. Limiting how often sugary food and drink appear through the day matters more than the total amount consumed.

Dr. Nigalye and his staff are fantastic. I had to have some dental work done and was referred to him by my dentist and couldn't be happier. He was very thorough and really made me feel comfortable with the decision that I was making. After surgery he called to make sure that everything was good and let me know that if there were any problems to call. Dr Nigalye and his staff make you feel at ease and very comfortable. I recommend him 100%.

Referred by primary dentist for an extraction. I was a very anxious patient but his staff was so comforting. His clinical staff stayed with me through the procedure to reassure me. Dr. Nigalye was professional and kind. He explained everything thoroughly and made me feel at ease. I had a very positive outcome and I received a follow-up phone the next day to check on me. I highly recommend him and his staff.

I had my wisdom teeth removed this month by DR. Nigalye & team. I couldn’t have expected better care… from my pre appointments, to procedure day, and even the care package I was given on my way out! I will recommend them to all friends and family that may need dental service in the future.

I am 72 years old and finally needed my wisdom teeth removed. I know, weird! Anyway I had never had teeth pulled before and was a bit apprehensive. I was considering sedation but really didn’t want to spend the money. Anyway, no problem at all. The staff and dentist at Niagara Dental Implant and Oral Surgery were excellent. Highly recommend!

Wonderful experience for my daughter’s oral surgery. The staff is extremely professional and really take the time to know their patients and their needs! She had two teeth ligated as part of her orthodontic treatment. I would definitely recommend Dr. Nigalye and Niagara Dental Impant & Oral surgery.

I recently had all four of my wisdom teeth removed, and I couldn’t be more satisfied with the care I received. From the initial consultation to the surgery itself and the follow-up a couple of days later, everything was smooth, organized, and highly professional. I had actually gone to a different oral surgeon about a year ago for a consultation, and the difference was night and day. Choosing Dr. Nigalye and his team was absolutely the right decision—I only wish I had done it sooner. They were phenomenal from start to finish, and I’ve already recommended them to friends who might need oral surgery in the future. On the day of the procedure, the team made sure I felt completely comfortable before the anesthesia kicked in, which really helped calm any nerves. Afterward, they went above and beyond—they provided a thoughtful “goodie bag” with supplies, clear aftercare instructions, ice cream (went with cake batter so good!), oatmeal, applesauce, a bunch of gauze, ice packs with headband and a medication tracker, which made recovery much easier to manage. They also took the time to walk me out to my car, which I really appreciated. The procedure itself went better than I expected—removing all four wisdom teeth took less than an hour. Recovery has been very manageable thanks to how well everything was explained, organized, and the great job Dr. Nigalye did. As an added bonus, the office is conveniently located right in Williamsville on Main street down the road from me. Overall, this was an excellent experience, and I highly recommend Dr. Nigalye and his team to anyone needing wisdom teeth removal or oral surgery.

My son had his wisdom teeth extracted today (March 2026) at this office and I cannot say enough about what a great experience it was. Starting off strong with the incredible customer service at the front desk, Krysta was completely knowledgeable about all things insurance, offered me a beverage while I waited, and explained everything fully in detail to my son and me. Emily came to get Will, and we were in the office for a total of one hour. They offered him a warm blanket and any music of his choice through the procedure. They sent us home with written, detailed instructions (after explaining everything for his after care in great detail). They gave him a beautiful insulated bag stocked with the ice cream of his choice from Lake Effect ice cream (Loganberry!), a halo ice pack, along with so many other things. They helped him to the car, and he was shocked at how nothing hurt, including the anesthesia, and that he truly was worried for nothing and it was the most wonderful experience that anyone as far as wisdom teeth extraction. I highly recommend this office.!
