About Nima Ebrahimi, DDS - Periodontist in Los Angeles

Nima Ebrahimi, DDS - Periodontist in Los Angeles provides dental care on Wilshire Boulevard in the Brentwood area of Los Angeles, California. Periodontics is the specialty focused on the gums and the bone supporting the teeth, handling more advanced gum disease, related surgical treatment, and — in many practices — dental implant placement, which sits naturally alongside that training.

Dental anxiety is common, and most practices are used to working with nervous patients — through clear explanations of what is about to happen, a slower pace where needed, and sedation options for patients who want them. Avoiding the dentist out of anxiety tends to make eventual treatment more involved, not less.

Children benefit from starting dental visits early, generally by their first birthday or within six months of the first tooth coming through, mainly so they become familiar with the setting before any treatment is actually needed. Establishing that routine early tends to make ongoing checkups far less stressful for both child and parent.

Payment and insurance arrangements vary by practice and by treatment, so it is worth asking directly what is covered and what options exist for anything that is not, rather than assuming either way. Getting that clarified before treatment starts avoids surprises once it is underway.

Beyond any single treatment, most dental visits start with an examination — checking for decay, reviewing the gums, and looking at existing fillings or crowns — often alongside X-rays where there is a reason to look between or beneath teeth. That groundwork is what a dentist uses to explain any findings and set out next steps before you leave.

Routine attendance, roughly every six months for most people, is what actually keeps small problems small. A lot of decay and gum disease develops without any pain in its early stages, which is why regular checkups matter even when nothing seems to be wrong, rather than only booking an appointment once something hurts. Can a periodontist save a loose tooth?
Sometimes. If the looseness comes from bone loss around the tooth, deep cleaning and periodontal treatment can stabilise it, though the outcome depends on how much support has already been lost.
What is gum recession and can it be treated?
Recession is when gum tissue pulls back and exposes more of the tooth root, often from aggressive brushing, gum disease, or grinding. Grafting procedures can cover exposed roots, though how well that works depends on the extent of the recession.
How can I look after my teeth between appointments?
Brushing twice a day with fluoride toothpaste and cleaning between the teeth daily covers most of it. Limiting how often sugary food and drink appear through the day matters more than the total amount consumed.

As parents of Student in UCLA I have serious concerns regarding the professional ethics and clinical safety standards at this practice Dr. Ebrahimi. Based on documented history and professional associations, I do not believe this environment meets the necessary medical integrity for patient care. I strongly recommend doing thorough research into this provider's background collaborative approach of Dr.Alison Ozaki and Dr.Ebrahimi (their activity) before booking. Please contact with office.

Dr. Ebrahimi is truly an angel. He’s very caring and thoughtful. Unlike another dentist I saw, he only recommended what he thought was truly needed. Gum surgery went much better than anticipated and when I had some post surgery questions, he took the time to answer them all immediately. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Ebrahimi has done two very successful gum implants for me. He is very professional and gives his 110% every time. Gabby, his new office admin is excellent at managing difficult insurance companies and very helpful, informative and responsive. I am very grateful to have an excellent periodontist that takes insurance, I can get an appointment with, and who does a great job!

Dr. Nima Ebrahimi's considerable size and influence belie his disregard for patients' well-being and questionable medical skills.

Unscrupulous business practices! I was a patient at this office when Dr. Satlin owned it. When Nima Ebrahimi took over they remained an in network provider. I was contacted by his office and requested to come in by peaches their previous office manager, because I was not utilizing the greater portion of my insurance coverage after a regular exam that was prompted by the provider, not by me I received a bill my insurance did not pay. Exams and x-rays are supposed to be covered under my insurance and the payment requested is for the provider not for the insurance company. I can’t believe that they would nickel and dime me after utilizing my insurance for covered procedures. When I contacted the office peaches said that she would waive the $25 co-pay but I continue to receive bills for the copayment so I contacted the office again and there’s a new office manager and apparently they are not going to honor the credit given by the previous manager. I have requested to speak with the provider Nima Ebrahimi and I have not received a return call, nor will I be making a return visit.

Dr. Satlin and crew are top notch. The attention to detail, matched with their gentle and calm chair side manner, made me feel both fully informed and comfortable with each appointment. I will specifically miss my interactions with Peaches. Her professionalism and kindness made each visit something I looked forward to. I feel like I've made a life long friend. I could not recommend their services more highly.

I have been going to Dr Andrew for 2 years or so. Both of his hygienist, dental assistant Peaches and he is wonderful. He is very through and personable enough to be able to discuss many things and he is gentle with the surgery. I, in fact was not in pain at all during my periodontal deep cleaning as well as tooth extraction. This is an update*** I have been coming to Dr. Andrews for now over 5 years and I will be getting more service from him. As of 2/14/2019 the regular office manager is on maternity leave so there was a bit of time spent to get some of the administrative things at his office but I feel that I can trust him with my dental needs. I recommend him!! ++++++++++++++++++++++++ 5/11/2019 I had gone to his hygienist last week and she was so through and kind and also gentle and caring. I feel that the cleaning at Dr Satlin's office feels much more thorough and more valuable to my dental health than other places.
