About North Jacksonville Complete Dentistry

North Jacksonville Complete Dentistry is a dental practice on Dunn Avenue in the Highlands area of Jacksonville, Florida. A filling repairs a tooth after decay has been cleaned out, most often using tooth-coloured composite resin that is shaped and bonded to blend with the surrounding tooth. It is usually completed in a single appointment and is one of the most routine restorative procedures in dentistry.

Continuity matters in dental care — seeing the same practice over time means your history, X-rays, and any patterns in your oral health are already on file, rather than starting from scratch at each visit. That familiarity is part of what a regular dental home offers beyond any single appointment.

Dental anxiety is common, and most practices are used to working with nervous patients — through clear explanations of what is about to happen, a slower pace where needed, and sedation options for patients who want them. Avoiding the dentist out of anxiety tends to make eventual treatment more involved, not less.

Children benefit from starting dental visits early, generally by their first birthday or within six months of the first tooth coming through, mainly so they become familiar with the setting before any treatment is actually needed. Establishing that routine early tends to make ongoing checkups far less stressful for both child and parent.

Payment and insurance arrangements vary by practice and by treatment, so it is worth asking directly what is covered and what options exist for anything that is not, rather than assuming either way. Getting that clarified before treatment starts avoids surprises once it is underway.

Beyond any single treatment, most dental visits start with an examination — checking for decay, reviewing the gums, and looking at existing fillings or crowns — often alongside X-rays where there is a reason to look between or beneath teeth. That groundwork is what a dentist uses to explain any findings and set out next steps before you leave. What are tooth-coloured fillings made of?
They are composite resin, a mix of plastic and fine glass particles that is shaded to match the surrounding tooth and bonded into place. The main appeal over silver amalgam is appearance, particularly on teeth that show when you smile.
How long do dental fillings last?
It varies with the material, the size of the filling, and where it sits in the mouth. Fillings are not permanent — they wear, chip, and eventually leak at the edges, which is one reason routine check-ups examine existing work as well as looking for new decay.
Why do dentists take X-rays?
Decay between teeth and problems below the gumline are invisible to the naked eye, so X-rays are what reveal them. Modern digital images use a low dose and are taken only when clinically justified.

I only needed a filling replaced and they attempted to bully me into purchasing a crown. I realized that’s pretty good money for them. After all, if you can sell 7-10 of these daily @ $1100, that’s pretty good marketing. Going to another dentist to get my filling done. Whatever you do, don’t let these people “crown” you Lol.

I am so pleased with the dental service I received at North Jacksonville Complete Dentistry. I received welcoming smiles and efficient professional assistance at intake. Patients are taken in for treatment with practically no wait. Every effort is made to minimize pain during treatment. I’m a scaredy cat for dental but this is a painless dentist! Thank you so very much to my Dentist and his Dental Assistant. They went above and beyond. I can now fully close my mouth and bite down without excruciating pain!

The front desk ladies, the assistant, the dentist were so nice! I went to a different dentist a couple months ago and they did not care! They just wanted money and it was obvious! I called another dentist before calling North Jacksonville Complete as well. That dentist apparently did want my money! I am a self pay..no insurance. I thought I was going to need my tooth pulled. (Especially since that is what the first dentist said. Or root canal and crown) This dentist took her time. Explained to me what I need done and it does not need pulled OR a root canal! On the way out one of the ladies went over pricing options and even told me about what kind of dental insurance I can look for! Their prices are very reasonable. Most importantly…they care and it showed! I will definitely return to them!

The entire staff were welcoming and pleasant. The dental assistant LaShanda was so compassionate and was a big help to calm my nerves. Dr Sabino made my experience very smooth. He was patient with me and I really enjoyed my visit there. He will be my dentist for now on.
